Ro'hesia wrung her hands as she settled down on the plush couch in Korini's office, bouncing her right leg on the ball of her foot as she awaited the other's return, with Zabuza. She had applied time ago to become Zabuza's guardian, at his sudden abandonment, and she'd been nothing but thrilled when Korini contacted her with the good news.
Zabuza, though, might not be so willing. Ro' understood that he was just a baby, and although most would assume that he would be too young to remember the situation of their first meeting, Ro' knew better. Babies were the most perceptive people alive.
Ro' heaved a quiet sigh, slipping her fingers through her hair as the memories of that day flashed back, the office molding into the shape of the marketplace, and in the recesses of her mind she saw herself moving here and there through the chaos of people peering at venders, looking for something to buy.
//The poor thing was absolutely overwhelmed - it was so noisy, here! After a few moments of a dull roar, chaos erupted as a thief darted through the streets and crowds with his bounty, the shop's owner chasing after him and causing quite a ruccas. Darting aside to avoid trampling, Ro' found herself stumbling into an alleyway, tripping over her feet and falling face-first.
As she picked herself up with a cough and a grumble of a few choice words, she noticed something askew beside her, on the ground - a headband? Missing from someone's head, no doubt. With a frown she bent over, picking it up with her left hand - the moment her fingers touched the fabric, she realized something special about this little accessory. Something almost seemed to be...emminating from it. A tiny spirit! Ro' was astounded, but she didn't know what it meant!
Wandering back into the thick of the town, she held the headband gingerly within her palms, not really looking where she was going. In an instant, a group of children would come running, sdmashing head-on into her and causing her to drop the little headband as she toppled, the fabric caught up in the wind and wisking off, assumedly smushed beneath the feet of innocent bystanders. Ro' looked for nearly an hour, but she wasn't able to find it, again... //
After that little incident, she'd become aware of exactly what dwelled within that little pendant, and her heart had sank - a little someone had needed her! Needed someone to take care of him, and he could've been killed! With much research, she discovered that Zabuza had, indeed, been rescued, and living with another. But at his abandonment, Ro'hesia had jumped to the chance to adopt him. She needed a second chance. But, learning of the sheer perception of the children even in their pendant form, she knew Zabuza would be wary of her, or so she feared.
"I have to get him to trust me, again.." She murmured to herself, turning to the sound of footsteps down the hall, outside the closed door of the office. "At the sign of tears, I'll scoop him up into my arms...anything he needs, he shall have....a warm home, food, a soft bed...and warm arms of a mother who'll love him. I can't offer him anything else.." She stood, then, and awaited the little face of the one granted to her care.
