While walking in the garden, Elfmoogle heard a rustling in the bushes. Going to take a closer look, she found a creature caught within the branches of one of the bushes. Approaching as slowly as possible, she held out a hand for it to sniff. She wasn't sure what this creature was, but she decided to free it and see if it would stick around. Untangling the branches from the studded collar the creature wore, she pulled it out, finding that this creature, whatever it was, was male.
"Poor thing...come with me, we'll get you something to eat, and you can lay down while I feed Oenone.."
The creature, which she had decided to name Chronos, followed after her cautiously to the spot she had left Oenone cradled in a sort of hammock, miniature sized. Taking her down, she walked into her house, looking for some bread and a little meat. Chronos ate hungrily while she began to feed Oenone some bread dipped in milk, softened by the soaking. Oenone appeared to be growing her first tooth, as seemed evidenced by her constant desire to chew on things.
Chronos stepped over to where Elfmoogle was feeding Oenone after he finished his food, and sniffed warily at the child. After several moments of both child and animal staring at one another, Oenone reached out happily for the scruff of Chronos' neck and petted him. With a happy whine, Chronos nudged her hand and licked it.
"Well, you two certainly like one another. Chronos, I will leave it to you to guard this child as she sleeps when I am away."
Somehow, Elfmoogle knew that Chronos understood her.
