"Take not life's hardships for granted, for they are the best teachers, and the world is their well-equipped classroom."
I'm not sure where I read that, or if I made it up. I doubt I did, though. Every intelligent, coherent thought was first thought of by an incoherent mind before someone could think hard enough to think it up. It's just the way that things are, it seems.
Oh well. "J.D." had to go to class shortly after she woke up, so she sent me home to get some rest. She woke up around four in the afternoon, at which time she told me to go home. I got home around 4:20 P.M., and fell asleep around 4:21 P.M.
Now it is around 8:35 P.M., and I a back in the lab. Sleep-deprived, over-worked, slightly stressed, but still floating on the euphoria of having the career or my dreams. Having the first occupation where I was interested in it, and I actually meant something, was a wonderful feeling.
Oh well, back to the constant organizing effort. "J.D." was also back to her unpacking efforts, making an even bigger mess for me to straighten out.
"J.D." was rather comical, with her hair full of packing puffs, digging around for this piece of equipment, or that utensil.
"Anna," She called with her head consumed within a box, "Where are my frequency estimates for the pitch that would be required to disarm a gun?"
I looked at the papers grasped within my hand that showed the sound wave movements of human speech, and rubbed my forehead, "I have no idea, 'J.D.'"
I heard her stifle a while as she pulled her head out of the box and looked back at me helplessly. "I really need that, though!" Her tone broadcasted the snivel that she had previously attempted to prevent.
"Well, if you'd help me out, instead of making more of a mess, then we would find it twice as fast!" I simply stated, never lifting my head from amongst the stack of papers that I was organizing.
"Well, Anna, show me what to do, and I'll help. I'm not that good with that kind of stuff, though, so you've got to help me. So I showed her what to do, and the progress greatly increased.
