It was a dark and gloomy night.. the wind howling silently throughout the darkness of the night. Crickets chirped within the shadows, the owls hoos which echoed throughout the sky.. yes, it was quite bone-chilling in a place such as this. The woods looked as creepy as ever.. as if the very trees itself looked.. alive in a sense? Not too far away from the suppose 'haunted' woods.. a place where the restless dormant six feet under. The Graveyard.. such a simple name, yet it sounded quite so.. shivering in a way? Having that all said.. who would be foolish enough to wander in a place such as this? Who would be the next victim, or rather.. 'brave' soul to roam amongst the land of the dead?

Nothing out of the ordinary would happen just yet.. other than the wind just silently blowing through the sky.

[A young, beautiful elven woman walks by the gate of the graveyard. Her ruby eyes shine deeply into the night, beacons almost. Her hair, long and brown, is swinging with each step of her brisk walk. Her black traveling cloak sweep the ground that is littered with dead leaves. Two scimitars can be seen on her hips, shining in the moon light. The clicks of her heels are the only noise that can be heard from the woman. What is she doing in such a place?]

Someone must be this brave to step foot into the cemetery.. especially at a dark night such as this one. Anyone that even bothered venturing here is simply a fool.. so why was this woman even here in the first place?

The wind continued to howl.. the leaves blowing along with it. But, just like before.. nothing too strange would roam about the graveyard. For now, hopefully.. however, even if there was no 'presence' around.. it feels as though as the elf was being watched. But -what-, exactly..?
PostPosted: Tue Dec 30, 2008 11:29 pm

[The woman walked slower, having the feeling she was being watched. Her eyes darted around, but other than that, she gave no sign of worry. Abruptly, she stopped. An eagle swooped from the sky and gently landed on her shoulder, nuzzling up to her. She whispered something, sounding like an eagle herself -how odd-, and the eagle flew into the sky, cawing.]

Silence was golden.. it a little -too- quiet for that matter. The woman must be really courageous to wander in a forsaken backwater such as this one.. perhaps she has her own reasons for being here?

Not too far away from where the woman was.. there would a tree high on top of a hill. Though, the tree was long and dead.. there was nothing remaining onto it other than the branches it still had. Wait.. was there something -hanging- below the tree? It was hard to tell.. especially when it's dark and everything. Perhaps the elf wasn't alone after all.. who knows really?
PostPosted: Tue Dec 30, 2008 11:42 pm

[The woman easily spotted the -thing- that was at the tree. Her eagle took a beat of its wings and shot over to the tree, getting there in seconds. What is that? The eagle would be able to tell her... The woman smiled, real crookedly, and sprouted wings of flame, with two beats, the woman was off with one giant beat of her wings. She was halfway there when she noticed something shining on the ground. She swooped down to pick up the amulet, such a beautiful amulet. Her wings fade, but she is still staring in that direction, clutching the amulet in her fist.]

As the elf's supposed 'pet' would draw closer towards the tree.. indeed, something would be hanging at the tree. However.. if one were to notice, a rope would be wrapped around a branch.. and right below it would be a corpse!

The corpse would have scratch marks.. not too mention bite marks onto his arms. It looked like if it was.. eaten by something. The noose tied around its neck was bloodied.. the blood still looked a little fresh. Was the carcass just killed just recently?

Whatever it was that killed this poor soul.. it sure took in the pleasure of slaughtering it. The elf and its pet should be -very- cautious by now..

[The woman sniffed for the first time she was there and smelled the blood. Her eyes instantly grew brighter and she looked more... perfect... Everything about her became more beautiful, but more threatening. Her features were so sharp. A low, rumbling growl emitted from her... how odd, such a evil noise coming from such beauty... The eagle flew back to her, but kept it's distance.]

How did that old saying go again? Looks aren't always everything or whatever? Indeed.. this woman was a strange individual. However.. despite her being oddly affiliated with the blood.. she has no idea of what's in store for her.

If she were to take notice.. moans and growls began to echo throughout the sky. And the odd noises just began to get louder and louder, as the woman got closer towards the tree.

Though, one thing she should notice by now.. the corpse would be clutching onto something. A.. piece of paper of some sort? Quite strange for a corpse to clutch onto something when it was still.. dead and everything. What could it be?
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 2:28 pm

[The woman, indeed, sees that the corpse was holding a piece of paper. How can a corpse hold something...? The woman also heard the growling and moaning; she disregarded it.. If it's going to try to kill me, it has a death sentence. The woman began to run in the direction of the tree, and she jumped. Miraculously, the woman was at the tree in seconds, appraising the body. She decided to check if the corpse was... well, a corpse. Because, after all, people could call her a corpse. She listened for a pulse, not having to touch the body. Then, she did the oddest thing; she took out one of her scimitars and raised it high, like she was going to plunge it into the body's chest.]

As the woman got closer towards the corpse.. the very moans and groans surrounding her would be very well heard now.. she was no longer alone it seems. The corpse would remain lifeless as it is.. no pulse.. it just laid there as if it were like a rag doll.

However, as the woman was about to skewer the corpse, the usually quiet winds would become a little violent as it blew fearlessly towards the elven woman and the corpse itself. The corpse that still held tightly around that strange piece of paper, would unfortunately loosen its grip.

The paper would begin to get blown away by the wind.. wait, now the wind just suddenly went back to being calm and quiet. Did the paper had some sort of purpose..? Well, the old saying goes.. 'Curiosity kills the cat". Will the woman be curious enough to chase after that simple piece of paper?
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 2:57 pm

[The woman notices the paper. What is so important about it that the corpse held onto it, even in death? The woman was very inquisitive now. She dropped her aim, but didn't re-sheathe her scimitar, which began to glow a soft white. What was dark around here? She knew it was a graveyard, but her sword was warning her about something more. The woman's eagle swooped and snatched the paper from the air. It flies over to her and lands on her shoulder, tossing it into her hands. Both of them are still alert when she begins to examine the paper.]

As the woman and her little pet finally got their hands on the strange, odd piece of paper.. as the elf would begin to examine the paper.. she would notice that there was some dried blood onto it. But despite the blood.. it wasn't enough to cover the true nature of the loose leaf. It was simply.. a map.. which had a few but cryptic words onto it. It said:

Beneath the earth, lies treasures beyond your wildest dreams.
Happy as you be, you'll be breathless, of what you're about to see.
A warning, however, as many have fallen, never to be seen.
Are you willing to risk your life, as the--

The words cut off from there.. the blood soaking the last remaining words to this somewhat strange poem. Though, it did gave some clues.. a treasure beneath the graveyard itself? It also gave hints that a potential danger was lurking around.. the moans and groans continued to grow louder. And the noises was coming closer and closer towards the elf..
PostPosted: Sat Jan 03, 2009 3:41 pm

[Her eyes grew wide. Treasure? Beneath the surface of the graveyard. Well, then, she wouldn't take it. She was told never to disturb the dead. She simply laughed. Danger? What danger could possibly be so bad? Even if it could kill her, she would just not fight it. Plain and simple. Flee before she was caught. This was merely a distraction for what she came to do though. She walked to the corpse, lifted its dead, cold hand, and put the piece of paper there.]
"Sleep your eternal sleep well."
[The woman used her blade to cut the noose the man was being hung from. She used her magic to fling enough dirt aside, and then to place the man inside her hole. She then covered it with in the same fashion. She then found a rock and used a dagger from her boot to write Unnamed Thief on it. She placed it at the top of the grave.]
"We all must die eventually, but you died of greed. If I don't see you in the underworld, I will truly be surprised. Enjoy your eternal sleep and let your soul rest peacefully."
[The woman, her voice like a lullaby, left the grave and walked into the cemetery. She found a grave and knelt down to read the stone. It was faded, but she still knew it was the right one. She just sat there, silently mourning.]

It seems as though that the elf is not a victim of greed from the looks of things.. no matter, even if she wasn't intending on taking the treasures that the bloodied map claimed.. the terrible evil surrounding her cared not if that wasn't her true purpose. No.. they wanted more, it seems.

As the elf placed the corpse into the hole and made her prayers and such.. the violent winds would erupt once more. The moans and groans never ceased to stop.. before finally..

"... Muuust... feeeed...." Voices muttered quietly in the cemetery.. noises that brought chills up and down your spine.

What is this terrible evil that the elf had gotten herself into? Or rather.. why and how was she in a place like this in the first place? If she wasn't looking for treasures, then why the hell is she still lingering here? The smell of rotten flesh began to smell up around her.. and it was no surprise of what's in store for the elven woman.
