The famed Academy of the Sith has stood for milennia and it still trains many powerful warriors. This is the main area of population on Korriban, the only other area being Dreshdae, the port right next to the academy. Korriban is steeped in the dark side, though it feels like it is slowly losing it's power...

Peace is a lie... there is only passion.

Röndro, better known as Darth Perferos, worked away in his lab deep under the Sith Academy. It was a dimly-lit chamber, the torches all dependent on a reflection system against the pallid red stone walls. It smelled of death, and the Dark Side... for horrific experiments went on unchecked here. It was his job to manipulate existing creatures into weapons that the Sith could use against their enemies, a task Röndro excelled in.

Through passion... I gain strength.

The lone Noghri was the only of his kind to have ventured from the planet Honhogr. He was a frightening sight; while not very tall, the ridged forehead, black eyes, and menacing sharp teeth were all features many shied away from. Perhaps the most startling piece of his façade were the many tattoos, which made him appear very skeletal. These things were of little consequence to someone such as he; what with the mentally-tasking work he underwent, Röndro socialized very little.

Through strength... I gain power.

"Stop screaming." Röndro commanded, grabbing the initiate by the wrist as he lifted him to his feet. "If you had obeyed, and hadn't placed yourself near the cage, this wouldn't have happened." The Sith continued. His inferior mumbled something unintelligible as Darth Perferos' lost his grip, the bloody stump sliding out from his hand. Röndro sighed, reaching out into the Force. "Keep it up, and you'll end up exactly like it. Now to your quarters, you sniveling wench!" The Noghri growled, using the Force to deposit him (not gently) across the room.

Through power... I gain victory.

Röndro's hand smoothed down the countless poisonous spines of an infant Tuk'ata. The creatures had always fascinated him; and therefore, were an inspiration for many of his alchemical experiments. A Terentatek nearby roared out of hunger... out of agitation. Without a second thought, the Sith Lord cast the young creature towards certain doom, and delighted in its cries of suffering. Simply, he said, "Survival of the fittest."

Through victory... my chains are broken.

Finally, as sweltering sunlight raced across the desert wasteland and into the Valley of the Dark Lords, Röndro placed the finishing touches on his latest experiment. A Twi'lek had found himself -- unfortunately -- on the surface of Korriban, in similar circumstances that the Noghri had found himself in years ago. However, this one had lacked Force-sensitivity... but would be an invaluable asset to the Sith's armory of genetic monsters. Röndro had placed the Twi'lek inside of a glass container, and was introducing the Mechu-deru vitae virus just as a Sith Assassin entered the room. Clad in black, the Sith Lord would have missed the individual if he hadn't sensed him coming. "You may approach." He muttered, sighing. The virus took hold, and flesh became metal in mere moments as the Twi'lek struggled for breath. Finally it gave in as thousands of tiny spores attacked its frontal lobe; no longer did it have a free will. The Noghri turned to face the taller individual, beckoning that it follow him as he spoke. "My master wishes to speak with you." He said lowly, keeping his eyes away from the black pits in Röndro's skull. The Sith Lord nodded slowly. "Tell him I will be there shortly."

The Force shall free me.

((The 'master' I refer to is the Dark Lord of the Sith, Shinji, obviously.))

The sith assassin approached The Dark Lord, and gets down on a knee. Tabris turned towards him. He had been expecting such a visit so he was not annoyed by the sudden appearance. "Yes?"

Lowering his gaze, the assassin says, in a crisp voice. "My Lord, he says he will be coming shortly."

"I see," nods Tabris. He walks back to his seat, and sits down, facing the door. "Thank you. You are dismissed."

Darth Perferos entered the room silently, slipping through the door and closing it behind him. He sat in a meditation stance in front of Darth Tabris, the Dark Lord of the Sith, and bowed deeply. "Your Lordship..." He whispered, addressing the formal mantle as he looked back up at him. "What is it you wish?" Röndro asked. His face appeared contorted as he grinned; unnatural-looking when worn on a Noghri. The sharp teeth meshed together viciously, and he was patient as he awaited a response.

Tabris turned around. Perferos was one of the most powerful Sith Lords, so Tabris treated with respect. He smiled, "Dark Perferos. Have you een keeping up with the information on hte Jedi? It seems they have become... lax as of late... i want you o personally train a group of sith students so they will become elite warriors, so when the time for our strike comes... we will have more than enough forces to finish our foes."

Röndro bowed his head and his lips tightened. "M'lord... it is worth mentioning that my job is to build your armies. I can only train two apprentices at a time, seeing as any more will ultimately result in casualties." He answered. It was true; the last time he had taught any more, the others had mysteriously disappeared, whether resulting from work-related accidents or the intense competition that came from becoming Darth Perferos' apprentice.

Tabris nodded, "I don't mean train them all as true apprentices. You, as well as anyone, should know that the Sith Army isn't meant to have all it's members be true Sith Lords. We need our marauders, our sorcerers. The group i want you to work with is skilled, but not too powerful. They will become the next Sith Sorcerer Company."

Röndro nodded. "And those who fail will serve as test subjects for the stronger adepts. Yes, Lord Tabris. I will not fail you." He murmured, getting to his feet. "Have them sent to my laboratory in one hour for my orientation. I need to get everything prepared." Darth Perferos added. He bowed once more, turned on his heel, and exited as silently as he had entered. The Noghri were renound for their espionage skills, and silence was a virtue held almost as high as honor in their culture.

The Sith Lord pushed open the heavy iron doors that led into his lab. The familiar stench of rotting meat, feces, and blood filled his nostrils; but this was nothing compared to the usual work hazards. His superior sense of smell made the harsh odors even worse, but by pushing them away using the Force, he was able to make the job more managable. Years of this occupation had made him very effective at repulsing the odors, while allowing oxygen-rich air to reach his face at the same time. This came from his mastery of the Art of the Small (which few had learned before this point).

Darth Perferos prepared for his orientation. Whenever indoctrinating new students, he felt it was important to instill plenty of fear; which would eventually manifest itself as aptitude in the Force, according to the Sith mantra. Röndro removed the cages of his most dangerous creations from the cache of Sithspawn, including two Terentateks; several Tuk'ata; four Battle Hydras; and an army of Mechu-deru Vitae byproducts, arranged them along the walls near the entrance, turned out all but a few lights. He smiled, knowing that some would likely be put in shock.

Tabris nodded and turned back towards his chair. He had a lot to plan. Collecting the apprentices was beneath him, so he called of the med-level Sith Lords in to do it for him. The man came quickly, almost looking frightened, as Lord Tabris was not the type to tolerate unneccessary lateness. As soon as the Sith Lord received his orders he was gone. Tabris mused about how the Sith, while incredibl powerful, were destined always to be alone. The jedi could trust each other. The SIth could not.

The room was now almost completely black by this point, save for the few torches scattered throughout the room. The Sithspawn were quiet, most likely due to their creator being suspended in the air in front of them for all to see. It was odd; Röndro often contemplated what the beasts thought about him. Was their relationship beneficial, or did they hate him? What did they see his mysterious powers as? Either way, he was gracious that they were all behind cages, save for the Mechu-deru Vitae creations (who moved freely, as it was physically-impossible for them to electively disobey him). Most would not hesitate to just as easily think of him as food and devour him whole. Though, Darth Perferos thought grimly, his prowess in the Force would make this particularly difficult. These thoughts all occurred as the Sith Lord sat in meditation, and waited for his new apprentices to enter. When they did, he would start off their journey through fear and power with a bang.
