Oh, TSF. Oh, subforum of ignorant flaming, “anti”s, trolls, spammers, and elitists – how we love you! How we crave the abuse you inflict upon us, the fingers numb from filing dozens of reports, the brain throbbing from hours of lamenting the cruelty and ignorance of your invading antis, the heart ache of seeing true fans of the series flee the subforum in tears.
I adore you, TSF.
For I am what one could call a “Masochistic Forum Regular.” Much like those who lurk in Site Feedback and get swallowed up by the hateful rants with a few flickers of love to keep them going, I am addicted to a forum that treats my emotions like a woman who won’t stay in the kitchen: I am repeatedly taken outside and beaten, yet I come crawling back in for more (and to make you a sandwich; please don’t hit me anymore!)
Anyone else here ensnared?

I am. I tend not to post, but I'm practically in there daily moderating it with a couple of other people. Already have built a reputation and quite a few people there hate me xD
But I just laugh, especially when it's the ones who were complaining about the lack of moderation, and when they get it suddenly it's not what was wanted (what was wanted was the "fans" to be warned/banned and the "antis" left to run free).
I do think the "twihard/anti" labels are a bit stupid though, because it isn't a war. Although looking at the forum you'd not know that.

I've just started calling anyone who uses the forum with the intent of starting an argument or piling hateful comments together an "anti." There's this weird... collection of users who are trying to "take over" with their various cliques, which isn't new because that happened in the Harry Potter Subforum in.. ohhh, maybe 2007 when the "Ask Threads" were still up and about. I haven't been active in that forum for a long time, but I remember a haphazard divide formed between a couple of groups of posters.
If it were a war, it would be more organized, and there'd be a visible aim to the struggle. xd
Mostly just kids wanting a place to belong. We're all just the awkward kid trying to find a lunch table.
Problem is, the method used most is "let's make the other kids at the Twilight table feel bad and leave" instead of "let's find a table with kids who share our interests."
Which is not to say I think the subforum is for Twilight fans; those who want to criticize and discuss it are welcome as well, I just... I'm an absolute Hufflepuff, I guess, and after years of being a jerkface myself, I just wish people were more civil.
But that's what the report system is for, I guess. XD

I quite like the forum, but I've the opinion of "If something really bugs you so much that you can't post without abuse, why not not visit it?".
If you're there to post how you dislike it, feel free, but if you're there to abuse people because of that fact, get out.
Some people find it fun to troll it, it makes them feel cool as they're "better" than everyone else. It's actually really sad xD
It's a forum that's really well moderated now. A few weeks ago it was backed up and it was a bit insane. But three or four of us sat down and spent a week doing them all (which is when people started noticing a lot more activity) and now it's down to a more manageable level (never really more than a day or so behind).
I like it now, I was against its existence when the idea was first proposed, but now that it's here I'm against removing it. It fills a need. It's a nice place smile

Mister Leo If you're there to post how you dislike it, feel free, but if you're there to abuse people because of that fact, get out. This times a hundred million thousand!
I've noticed the increase in moderator activity. I am very thankful for it n__n
I, too, originally frowned seeing the subforum added. Yeah, Twilight threads spammed other forums and fans couldn't collectively come together, but I knew it would be a cesspool of random fangirling and hatespitting. But now, I have more faith that if everyone keeps reporting, the blatant trolls and angry flaming cliques will dissipate, and we can all baww over obscure acting methods and squeal over Edward/Jacob slash together.

Well, Edward/Bella/Jacob for me. My head is filled with my life partner's OCs, so that's about the only canon character only ship I actively contemplate for Twilight.
Crossover, do Jasper and OOTP!Harry, see if Jas can calm Harry Potter down so he'll take Snape's lessons seriously...
The lines between fandoms have long since disintegrated to me. Ah, fanfiction, what have you done to my perception?

I go in there... to report threads and try and keep it clean. I have no interest in Twilight itself, but I'm sure people could use all the help they can get with the subforum.

Sooooo... i stay out of there Well, to be honest, by making a statement like that in your signature, you're blatantly asking for controversy. It's the same as wearing a t-shirt with the same phrase and expecting people to not comment on it.
Didn't it used to also say "go read a real book"? I remember it used to really, really piss me off. XD
@Sanji: Thank you for helping clean up the mess! n_n

I do has a shirt that says "And then buffy steaked edward, the end" : D Probably. I ended up taking it off so I could have more space to put the date in there.
