Many eons ago, the universe was created by gods and their divine and infernal creatures through powerful forces and legendary relics. Each god had a task to do in order to let the world continue to grow and expand. But each god had their own agenda and alliance with one another...There was a constant atmosphere of indignation between alignments, yet never breaking apart the cosmic balance up until 6,000 years later...
Like any omnipresent being, these deities never appear to earth's inhabitants: the humans. These mortals have known the usual flux between peace and chaos in their everyday lives, but the distant war between the heavens and abyss were finally breaking out from their plane of existence...
Legends say that before the time of man, the gods had lived amongst each other in a harmonic balance; the gods who bestow good will and uphold justice had lived alongside the gods who reveled in malice and bloodshed. These opposing forces had their differences, yet hardly crossed each other... But their followers and ethereal servants had become so righteous in their beliefs that their strong convictions turned into sudden action... Since then, the war has been fought time and time again, but a victor never arose from the fight. Eventually, the servants had turned to humans as a source of aid to victory, unknowingly to them. Gods have no strength without the worship and belief, so these divine servants were sent as a sign that their gods are very much real and listening to their every prayer. The power of human faith continued to power the gods, which also served as the servant's source of strength... Unfortunately, the strong faith and convictions powered by human will often bring strife and disaster amongst their race... Thus, the war had hit the material plane and was fought between the mortals, letting them settle their godly quarrels for them. The gods were so stricken with grief and frustration that they had even demoted many of their servants to The Fallen, divine beings who have lost their connection with their gods yet still held most of their power that their gods had given them.
The gods knew that the humans would eventually die out if they continued their senseless slaughter, so they began to bless a fraction of their power to many unborn children. These children carried unique powers that relate to their god's portfolio and divine agenda, becoming warriors of their born-patron gods: the Legatti. While the birth of a new race did aid the gods in coming to an end, the Legatti were not met with the most positive reactions... Though they are still human, a Legatus would be the equivalent of an abomination-- a plague-bearer to many who wish for the Eternal War to stop once and for all.
One era after another had passed, and the war had been brought back to their proper fields until a group of Greater gods created a pact amongst themselves for neutrality again. The pact was successful, but many other gods still kept strong to their convictions and hoped for a winner if not amongst them, but over the humans. Those wishes would be granted to the Servants and the Fallen, whom despite having only partial power compared to their gods, have been continuing the war on faith and morality on earth.
Now in Modern Times, the Eternal War continues to be fought unbeknown to many...

Races:
-Legatti (Singular: Legatus):
-Banished Servants (The Fallen/Fallen Angels/The Zealots):
-Servants (AKA The Principles/Adherents): These divine/infernal beings are essentially angels and demons who serve their gods and do their bidding from simple to important tasks. There are five categories which have to do with specific tasks. (Jobs specified in the next couple of pages.)
Demons (AKA The Infernals) and Angels (AKA The Celestials): Those not bound to gods roam their planes freely as well as the material plane (human realm). While these races are significantly stronger than humans, and at times the Legatti, they are not immortal or by any means the most superior of the races. Some can freely pass through realms by means of their own strength and rank amongst their race, or by the means of humans (Legatti, contractees and demonologists), should they attempt to summon or pray to them. Unless bound by a contract or by the spell used to summon them to the material plane, Infernals and Celestials can freely roam the world. But as easy it is to be summoned, they can be as easily banished by any human if they know how to and have the materials/spells/verbal components available to them. Botched summoning or banishing can also happen (which are mistakes or failures.).
:
Humans (AKA The Mortals/The Children of Gaia): Humans are the most well-rounded and have the strongest will power of all the races. While they are the weakest, they make up for it with their own special traits and the ability to congregate together and become a force to be reckoned with. They can adapt to almost any enviornment, and can withstand physical ailments to disabilities. It's very difficult for most humans to pass through to the other planes, but it can be done through the help of the other races... Legatti do not need as much help as humans do for that.
Contracted/ Pact Humans (AKA The Anathemas):
Deities(AKA The Gods): There are 3 categories of gods, from lowest position to highest: Demi, Intermediate and Greater. Demi-gods are humans, Legatti and Servants who have transcended from mortal to partially immortal and gain god-like abilities.
Ex- Gods (AKA The Crownless):
Spirits (AKA 'Lesser' Deities/Plainswalkers):
Sprites/Fiends (AKA Lesser Forces/ Common Supernatural Critters [Pets/Familiars]):

Setting: Modern Times, Gothic Theme. (Visual Aid: Think Devil May Cry settings.)
Currency (Human): Dollars ($) Currency (Demon): Red Orbs and Souls (any race) (aka Blood Orbs) Currency (Angel): Golden Coins/ Golden Hearts. [A note on currency: Angel and Demon currency aren't so much currency as they are trade items. They are used to create, synthesize and modify many things but can only be gained through humans. So when a human dies (or has certain parts taken), whatever is left behind is up for grabs by any of the divine. All three currencies can be exchanged for equivalent amount, but will be more difficult to deal between Angels and Demons. In other words, humans can deal easily with any of the races, the divine races can deal with humans but trading between Angels and Demons will be difficult due to the usual animosity.] Location: Mainly huge cities, towns and on occasion, islands.
Cities: Main City: Farris City, largest in the continent of Caedes. Being the oldest city, many legends revolve around this very land to be filled with a history of bloodshed amongst the Exalted. It was the very battle ground to have been used when humans became apart of it. Now, it has been modernized with its history mostly long forgotten. The city has very gothic-like structures and quite a few temples/churches for many patron gods. (Languages: Common, Latin, Infernal/Abyssal, Celestial and any other minor language.)

Caedes, the bloody city...Though no longer a city of war and death, the memories and legends of the Eternal War still echo through every corner and street within the city. Much of its inhabitants know the legends but have outgrown the 'bedtime stories', brushing them off as nothing but legends that old grandmothers tell their children and grandchildren. But behind every city and society lurk the supernatural-- remnants of the war and even veterans who played a part in it.
A blond young woman dressed in nothing but black, skin tight leather and a matching corset donned her biker jacket, mounting her cherry red motorcycle. She raced off to the downtown part of Caedes-- the dangerous streets dubbed 'The Dregs' by their residents due to a lot of crime, drug dealing and murder. Some even say that this part of town still carries the curse of the war with them.
The woman finally stopped near a bar by the name of Silver Bells. By day, the place was nothing more than a place to chat and socialize with the occasional fights and rowdy characters...but by night, it was nothing but a structure to congregate amongst the 'special' inhabitants of Caedes... Hardly any humans know about this bar, nor dare to enter it.
She sat down near the front and ordered a beer, her eyes silently observing the other of her kind...
"Alma's branch of acolytes have been assembling for some crazy pilgrimage...--"
"Nah, they're just trying to scare us off... All that talk about the Second War, or whatever. It's all a bunch of bullshit, if you ask me."
The returning of the gods and their servants have been the talk of the city for a while now, but a lot of the residents seem afraid...

The night was s**t as always in this rank city... Terin missed the earthly smell of the outlands and the cry of the wolves from his birthplace. All he could smell was blood, piss and what he could only guess to be some kind of dead dog.
"Jesus I need a drink..." He smirked at the thought, hell the drinks were just as dirty as the city you got them in.
He made a quick turn into one of the side slum areas on the way to the bar a half drunk veteran told him about on his way into the city
"I believe he called it "Silver balls" or something..."
What a weird a** name for a bar, he thought with a chuckle, but hell only knows it fit the rest of the city around him. As he turned the corner he saw the building he was looking for the Silver Bells Bar.
"Well i was close enough..."
He walked to the door....

The biker idly toyed with her empty bottle, spinning it around from the tip until it tipped over, fell and shattered. "...Oops." She muttered, hardly caring. Overhearing an irregular's voice, she looked up to see who the person was. "Ohh? A new guy, huh..."

This place was like the rest of the city.. s**t. But he walked in anyway, looking around at everyone in there. The more he looked around the bar though the more s**t seemed off..
"What the hell is with the energy of this place..." he muttered lightly to himself, not neccesarily wanting to start a fight after being here for only a few minutes.
He made his way to the bar were it seemed a woman in all street leathers was sitting dropping her glass on the floor, what a perfectly good waist of piss water he thought. He sat down a seat away from the woman and called the barkeeper with a wave.
"Whiskey...year and brand dont matter, whatever has the least mount of rat s**t in it"
The man looked at him like he was crazy. But went on his way to carry out the order. Even in this town, money was money.

The woman grinned, waving lazily at the new guy, "Ooooooi~ You there! I'd be careful if I were you, honey. Only the toughest, anti superstitious come out here and have a drink or two. Why don't you sit down here with me?" Unlike the rest of the crowd, she happened to be the brightest, friendliest of them all. Despite sharing a similar style like the rest of the regulars, something about the woman made her stand out amongst them... Nothing physical, though.

He was cought off gaurd by the womans offer, but decided what the hell.
"You dont look like youll bite, so why not" he smirked as he got up from his seat and sat down next to the woman grabing the glass of whiskey the bartender had prepaired for him.
"Names Terin, and what might yours be beautiful?" Terin wasnt a ladies man by any means nor did he try to be. But at a Resonable 5'9 and build due to is active life, he was no push over. Long Brown hair held at bay by a grey bandana and a Long Brown coat that looked like it was straight out of a old western movie from the years before the war, and lose fitting camo pants, the mans sense of style was obviously off.

"Well, aren't you a cute one?? Terin, is it?" She leaned in a bit closer, offering her hand to Terin, "Though I do love the name 'beautiful', my formal name is Lucielle Anabell Fallow. Don't mind the bartender, either. He's not used to visitors much." She ordered another bottle of beer, popped the lid and chugged half of it down before continuing. "I reckon you're not from around here, right? This city's always had bad rap, mainly due to the War from centuries ago...While the legends are interesting, I don't believe in much of the rumors going on. You gotta have the proof, you know? And not go running your mouth around like any other jackass on the street." Lucielle had a bit of a western accent, though not very prominent. She didn't look like anyone from the West, but carried herself with an air of grace and sweetness.
