In a separate part of the island were the nicer, much safer parts within the city walls. This part of town is called Heaven's Retreat, because legends say that the gods would come to this part to partake in human appeals and enjoyments. The entertainment was grand and full of life. Now, it's nothing more than a quiet area to live in. But because of it's simple, quiet environment, it's quite expensive to live and prosper here.
The darkening sky held little light but the stars that guided a fleeing rogue from authorities. She jumped over walls, fences and any obstacles in her way, gasping for air whenever she could. Her semi athletic and slender body was overworked by now, but the police were well on her track-- "Stop running or we'll press further charges on you!! Come back!!"
"No way... I'm not giving back what rightfully belongs to me..." she said as she glanced at this strange weapon... It was a katana attached to a chamber with six holes and a gun-like handle-- a pair to be exact. The weapons were very archaic in terms of technology but the workmanship showed much skill to the crafter's ability. She swept her long, dark brown hair back as she continued to bolt into an alleyway.

A robed Figure looked down at the spectacle below him, for the most part this part of town was quite even late into the evening. But this sort of thing happened from time to time and it was always interesting to watch. The woman running though wasnt one of the usuals and that peaked his interest even more.
"Maybe i should see where this goes..."

The 'thief' couldn't keep up any longer... she quickly dove into an alleyway and hid in some shadows. She had to monitor her breath as the trio of policemen passed by. They didn't seem to know she was hiding in plain sight...
"Search everywhere, those relics need to be put back in he museum!" One said as he ordered the other two to continue searching. They were drawing closer...
Just as she was about to run out of the alley, one of them found her-- "You!! Stop!! Give us back what you stole and we'll let you go with a fine!"
"As if I can afford paying for a fine...," muttered the girl as she slammed herself into the guy, forcing him to hit a car after she began to bolt again. And the chase begins once again...

He laughed thinking of how clumzy the woman was
"I guess i could give her a hand... just this once"
He jumped down from the sixth floor of the building he was perched on and landed on the ground with little to no sound, and in that very instant he landed dashed with such speed the normal eye wouldnt be able to see him. He made it to the front of the pack of men chasing her and stopped suddenly.
"well now chasing a poor little girl this late into the evening is odd wouldnt you say gentlemen?"
"Who are you!?" The men demanded "Get out of our way or we will take you in as well"
He laughed and staired the man down. Suddenly his eyes begain to grow a dark red. The men reacted and pulled there weapons on him and attacked all at once.
"Wrong choice..." The cloaked man said as he disappeared instantly. When he reappeared behind the men they were in awe, but only for a split second before they all split open cut straight through the abdomen and feel to the floor dead in a bloody mess.
"Humans these days.... couldnt tell a demon from a normal thug if they wanted to anymore..." He laughed as he disappeared back into the night

Just as the girl's legs gave out, she tripped and fell, scraping her knees and part of her lower legs. "Damnit... Why now...?!-- Huh...?" As she turned to face the men, another would stand in between them. She didn't know who he was, but all she heard were the gurgling sounds of dying men having their throats slit, their blood seeping through and passing her... "...What the hell...??!" And just as she was going to look back up at the shadow of a man, he was gone... But where did he go??
She quickly dusted herself off and desperately tried to get away from the crime scene, cursing to the gods for her misfortune.. "Great...! The last thing I need is being charged with second degree murder... THANK YOU, YOU BASTARDS!! You might as well do me the favor and kill me once and for all! Add me to the goddamn pile, yeah?!" Obviously this young woman wasn't happy with her situation but had more to do with her personal life than this. Unfortunately, it just piled on to her stress even more...
She couldn't even get farther than a block or so, her legs too sore to continue for now... All she could do was sit by a curve on an empty street with nothing but a few lamplights to light her vicinity and the image of what killed the policemen... "Who the hell did that to them...?" she murmured to herself as she picked at her scabs which were already healing rather quickly...

"You know... you really shouldnt talk about the one who saved u so much trouble that way.."
Before the girl knew it she was in the figures arms already scaling one building to the next trying to get the girl out of the area as quick as possible.
"wouldnt worry about your "friends" they been taken care of, no one will find the bodies thanks to some helpers from around here, this town has alot more of there kind then i expected to be honest.."
He laughed again this time out loud at the irony of the situation of this town and the main reason he was here in the first place

The girl gasped and nearly screamed if it wasn't for her biting down on her tongue just enough to get her to stop... Her eyes darted from the man to the ground, to which there was a huge gap... a 100ft or so gap. "Y-you were the one that saved me?! SAVED?! Do you realize what you DID?! Now the cops are going to think that -I- murdered them..!! You could've just grabbed me before they had a chance to get me!!" She hissed at her 'savior', grabbing his waist and clinging to it; her fear of heights didn't help her situation at all. "What, -and- who the hell are you, anyway?? You're either a contacted human, a demon or a Legatus... Which is it?"

"Well... those are words i never thought id hear out of a human in earnst this day in age. Then i guess i can be striaght with you, the bodies have been devoured already by some lesser demons of this town they wount be found. And to answer your question my name is Legito, and i am a Earth Demon.."
Earth Demons were almost a extinct faction of the Demon horde, most of them had been wiped out during the wars, not only by the gods but by the demons themselves, for the Earth demons only care was for the very element they were born under, gaia, the earth's life was considered more important then there own and they would die and kill for its very continued survival.

"E-eeeeeeeeeh!? A full-fledged demon...?! Are you a Servant or free from a god's commanding will...?" By the sounds of it, this girl was well aware of the existence of gods and their creations, but unaware of the greater myths around.
"Legito...That's Latin for 'guardian of the legatii'.-- Don't ask how I know it..." As most humans know, Latin is the old language of the gods and of supernatural beings. Only a few humans know, and those are usually scholars, theologists, demonologist and any who are bound to by a higher power. "Since you told me your name, I'll give you mine... Vivian Vyers. I don't suppose you're going to eat me too or sacrifice me in some ritual, huh?"

"Am a earth demon Viv... I am servant to no one but the very earth you step on everytime you leave ur house.."
He looked at the woman and wondered what her story was, for the most part most humans had forgotten all about the Gods and there creations and the Wars that came with those dicisions
"Can i take you somewhere were you will be safe?"

She pouted at him, even reaching for his cheek to bite down on it, "Vivi?! You've got some nerve, demon..."
After settling down a bit, she answered him, shrugging her shoulders while continuing to cling to his body, "Yeah...Anywhere is fine so long as I don't fall from here...I hate heights. And no, I don't have a home to go to, so don't bother asking me about that. The one thing people despise more than demons live amongst them in the open, and become targets... To hell with them."

Taking the womans feelings into account he allowed himself to move down to the street level. It was really late and even if anyone bothered to look they wouldnt know what they saw due to the lack of light in the area.
"Fine, ill be taking u to were i stay in this town. I have only been in this town for 3 years so its not much but hopefully itll be up to your standards. And sense you smell of me now the lower demons will be all over you if i leave you on your own"

Vivian sighed, not very surprised of demons on her tail, but just tired of running from everything and its mother. "Great...I don't care so long as there's a bed to sleep in and I'm not being attacked...I just need to rest..." Even now the poor runaway was starting to go into automatic sleep mode in the arms of a stranger she hardly knew- and a demon, no less... If she could fall asleep in Legito's care, then she had probably been through worse accounts and lived in far more dangerous scenarios than she could recall.
"Maybe you should just use me to feed them...You'd be them -and- me a favor...," muttered Vivi under her breath.

It was the morning after, when legito walked into the kitchen to start cooking a meal for him and his new found guest. Oddly enough his diet was normal for human standards so hopefully he could cook something alil more towards Viv's tastes.
"She more then likely wount be up for awhile, but she might be hungry when she wakes up.."
Legito took the two eggs out of the fridge and some steak and begain to cook them both. As he was cooking alot passed through his mind.. He was here in this city waiting for someone to find him.. the destiny of that man was unfair and vast... hopefully he could make a change in it

As Legito preoccupied himself in his kitchen, he would hear enraged and agonized cries coming from one of the bedrooms...
Vivian would hear a deep, ethereal voice piercing her mind-- it was that of a male's, but not human. "Bring the gunblades to me, Vivian... I require them immediately, but I know you meager little whelp cannot possibly do this within an hour's span, so I have given you three days and two nights to complete your task. I know I do not have to inform you of the consequences..." The voice finally faded along with the screetching noise similar to nails on a blackboard multiplied by 100 times-- as if that weren't enough, the sounds even caused her internal and external pain; her ears trickled of blood, the tiny veins in her eyes snapped one by one, turning her eyes into deep crimson... She desperately wanted to rip them apart along with her ears.... "S-SHUT UP...I-I'LL...BRING Y-YOU W...WHAT YOU ******** ASKED FOR...!!"
