http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/congress_ratings_improve_26_say_good_or_excellentThose being polled were asked to rate how Congress is doing it's job: Excellent: 3% Good: 23% Fair: 30% Poor: 43% I was listening to Sean Hannity earlier, he was talking about how Congress Approval Ratings were the lowest they've been in history. Natch, my "O RLY?" sensor went off so I went to go look it up. I'm going to take Sean's word about it being the lowest in history, because I dont really know for certain. And yeah, I posted this in the Politics Subforum, but I figured I"d put it here to generate activity.

I'm not too happy with congress right now. They're not listening to their constituents. But otherwise I think they're not doing a terrible job.
Good or excellent is at 26%, and poor is at 43%. I guess 43% of people that answered their phones aren't happy.

In most cases I'm skeptical of those polls. I mean, most of the time nobody wants to answer the phone about that sorta stuff, and I'd bet a good chunk of the people who answered were lying. Then again, unless the tendency to lie/hate annoying tele-political people has increased with time, low is low.

I don't even live in the states, but I sure feel bad for those who do. Congress right now is just wasting away with corruption, party solidarity and other things. Think about a congressman who was recently arrested on huge charges of corruption and fraud. And this is supposed to be the government that is leading the free world?

America spends so much time worrying about other countries that America itself tends to suffer. Things were better in the old days because they were more worried on making an independent nation of many races that would actually last. Now that I think about it.... Are they just distracting us from the real situations....? They're only telling us about the middle east and some small country that is almost completely unheard of.... Get with the program polliticians~ Our society will colapse without a strong, firm president with at least a B average. TT___TT

But I do know that the Bush Administration used the War on Terror to take funds out of the Social Security "lockbox". Without anyone noticing, and with the support of all but one member of Congress (or was that the Patriot Act?). Anyway, destroying social programs (and particularly Social Security) has been a longtime conservative goal.
