Um... hey there. My name is Thaddeus and I have a problem.
[pause for the customary "Hello Thaddeus" response]
I dont really have a clue when it started. I used to be just a casual player when it came to Tetris. My dad was trying to get me into it, he showed me this nifty site called Neave.com, where he played all those awesome old-school games like Frogger, (Personal) Space Invaders, Hexagon, Asteroids- Most of all, Tetris. So, he'd pretty much just rack up a wicked awesome score, call me into his office and then I'd see it, where I would promptly return to my room and attempt to beat his score. Generally I falied miserably.
But lately I've noticed I haven't even been playing it for fun anymore. I've just been playing it for the sake of playing it. Why? If I dont, then bad things happen. I was doing the dishes earlier today (before I had my chance to get in an hour of Tetris, sound turned down so I can listen to Heavy Metal/R&B, whichever Im in the mood for) and I noticed that I was stacking dishes like I was playing Tetris. The glasses were the "I" blocks, the tupperware were the square blocks- It started to get a little crazy. I playe d a little Tetris, thinking that would help, but it didn't. It made matters worse.
I've been seeing Tetris everywhere I go. I've been looking at normal things and imagining little Tetris blocks sliding in there to complete the line. Generally, depending what I'm looking at, it's usually an "L" block that my mind crams into something, but on occasion it's the "S" block. If I'm feeling generous, I'll throw in an "I".
My name is Thaddeus and I have a problem.

Rilian I play tetris in my mind, and I lose. Oh God, you too? I was doing that earlier when I was watching Harry Potter.

My brain plays Tetris as I try to fall asleep. It sucks.
Did you know you can make nifty Tetris bookshelves? I want 'em; they're neat...

I used to play DDR in my sleep. Gawd, I hate those damn arrows. Yeah, I've played Q-bert, Commander Keen, Cosmo, Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy... all sorts of stuff in my head. I usually rock more when actually playing.

Hi, my name is Taki and I have a tetris problem.
(dramatization) (kinda)
A year or two ago, my dad started buying old computers and trying to fix them up. to my knowledge, he only got one working. It's operating system was Ubuntu, and that was what we called it to not mix it up with the other computer. Ubuntu didn't have a purpose, you could barely open a word processor and our attempts to get it online were a complete failure. Eventually we found that it could play games. without bothering to give any money, the only game you could properly play was Tetris.
Sure, it was called 'gnometris', but it was the same game with a 'g' in it. It sat for a few days, and then my dad decided to play a couple of games. It was fun trying to remember the proper rules and what was going on. I thought it would end there, but our families competitive nature proved too much, and seeing my dad's name on the high score list was too much to bear.
around when we started playing our scores were like, 2-3000. after a week, they were 23-2400. it only went up from there. Every day I would come home to find that someone had broken the high score. Everyday we would take turns trying to beat that, and most of the time we did ('we' being my brother, father, and I). Almost without me noticing I was seeing Tetris behind closed lids, whenever I blinked or tried to go to sleep. It's and odd sensation that most of you a familiar with, seeing four squares on top of each other inching down the screen, and you want to make it fall to get the quadruple point bonus, but you can't.
anyhoo, this story ends with us moving. we never really got around to unpacking Ubuntu.

Tetris....brings up old memories...especially that annoying music. I do acting classes and what not, and when I have to play a serious or sad role, to prevent me from smiling or laughing during it...I start to play the tetris song in my head.....

Any game that's really repetitive gets stuck in my head and plays itself. Querks plays in my head, and even Spin Doctor Challenger. I involuntarily imagine myself pressing the buttons on the keyboard to tell the baton what to do, and I make mistakes in my imagination, and the imaginary typing errors translate themselves into crappy moves on the imaginary computer screen.

I suck at Tetris, so I can't say it ever gets stuck in my head, but whenever I play a game for too long that happens. It's happened with DDR, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and a couple of Zelda games, not to mention some games found on addictinggames.com....

I play Starcraft and Guitar Hero 2 in my mind. I'm better in my head than in real life...

I used to play tetris on my N64 all the time: tetris worlds. It was great there were all sorts of types, I was completly addicted. My cure: my N64 broke and my computer could not handle any thing that was actually fun

Guitar Hero! I played that in my head for a while and sucked at it because I couldn't remember where the buttons were.

I've had this problem before. Occurs with anything you focus on too long. Visuals, music, that body buried in the backyard...
*ahem*
Anyway, just a question: has anyone dreamed about playing Tetris or any of these games mentioned?

Nymshi I've had this problem before. Occurs with anything you focus on too long. Visuals, music, that body buried in the backyard... *ahem* Anyway, just a question: has anyone dreamed about playing Tetris or any of these games mentioned? How is that different from unwillingly imagining it when awake? These "hallucinations" are strongest as I'm falling asleep.
