Welcome To

Greetings! A hundred-thousand welcomes to my new and first ever item petition thread, entitled "Bagpipes For Gaians". What exactly this thread will be petitioning for is Bagpipes.
I'm pretty sure most, if not all of you, know what Bagpipes are. But just in case, for those of you that don't know, here's some helpful information.
The "Bagpipe" is most commonly known and popular in Scotland, and has hundreds of different forms, the most popular of which is the "Great Highland Bagpipe" (the kind pictured at the top of this post, and the kind I'm petitioning for). The history and origins of the Bagpipe is too greatly shrouded by the mists of time to give any truly accurate lecture on that topic. But today, the bagpipe, and especially the Great Highland Bagpipe, remains both one of the most soul-stirring (to some) and annoying instrument (to others). It is also one of the most expensive instruments in the world, with some Great Highland Bagpipes costing as much as a small car. And finally, but not least, the Bagpipe is the only known instrument to have it's own verb. A Bagpipe is the only instrument that can "skirl".
The Bagpipe consists of a blow-pipe, an air sac, three drones and a "chanter" (the "chanter" is a reeded pipe with nine finger holes in it, from which the "skirl" sound is generated). The player blows into the blow-pipe, filling the air sac with air. The player then squeezes the air sac under his arm to push the air from the sac through the chanter to produce the droning and "skirling" noises signature to the Bagpipe. By constantly filling the sac with more air before it runs out, the player can play the Bagpipe for as long as they want without even a slight break in notes.
Although hated by some, the Bagpipe is still loved, and even revered, by many others. And that's what this thread is for. If you also want Bagpipes for Gaians, then please sign this petition.
