Kiapets
It was a long time ago when I first saw the Kiapets. (Okay, not that long ago.) I remember it clearly. It was a normal day, the sky was bright, it seemed nice enough. So I decided to go out for a walk. I was walking down through the little forest close to my house when it happened. Out of nowhere, a girl appeared. She seemed no older than about 12 or 13. She tripped slightly, lunging for her bag, which had fallen a few feet away. It was an odd sort of bag. The material it was made of was like silk, only stronger, but just as shimmery. It was a nice green color, different than anything I can think of. There was a small hook at the bottom to attach the drawstring, so it could be like a sort of backpack.
Once she had recovered her bag, she seemed much more relieved. Only then did she notice me. And only then did I notice she wasn't a normal girl. Her ears were pointed, her eyes were much larger than normal, and her fingers seemed to be slightly pointed aswell.
She stammered to find something to say, but I got to it first. "H-hello... I'm... Lily. You are...?"
"L-litheria. Litheria Snimitch. I..." she stopped, pulling her bag closer to her. "I don't mean to... intrude... or anything... I kinda have a problem..."
I blinked. "What's your problem?"
"Well... see... I made this machine. I call it Snimitchocoahl. It makes these little things... These... eggs. They're little and round, and when you put them in Rane water, they kinda... hatch."
I blinked again, sitting down. "Rain water? Like... from rain?"
Litheria cocked her head. "... Rane water. Oh! Oh, you don't know what that is, oh, you wouldn't..."
I raised my eyebrows. "Where are you from, anyway?"
"Kiat."
"... Kiat?"
"Oh, sorry again, I keep forgetting... I... come from Miush. It's... a planet. I live in a city called Kiat."
I didn't answer. I couldn't answer. The girl didn't seem that much different from some of the people in Gaia, but I had never thought it possible she wouldn't even be from Earth.
"... You ok?"
"Y-yes..." I managed to say.
"... So, anyway, I have a problem. The things that hatch from eggs I call Kiapets. Well, there's too many. My Snimitchochoahl is making too many, and I kinda didn't tell my parents I had it in the first place... So it's just me and my little sister Pachique taking care of them. We hatched them all at the beginning, but once we had about 15 of them, we realised we had to do something." She paused. After a few seconds, she motioned to her bag. "I've got some eggs in there. I brought them here for people to take care of."
By then, I had recovered slightly. Without really knowing why, I answered, "I can help you."
"Really? That'd be great. ... I don't think you can take care of them all though, there's... alot."
I thought for a few moments, unsure of what I could do. Then something hit me. "I could get other people too! I can go get a little building or something, and then sell people the eggs, and food and stuff."
"Oh, that'd be great! Think you can handle it?"
I shrugged. "Sure... it sounds fun. So... what do they eat?"
"They eat... Stuff from Miush. I... dunno if they'd eat stuff around here... I can bring you stuff, though. Food and things. And Rane water."
I was about to ask about Rane water again, but I stopped. I'd have time for that later. "But... When? Where? ...How can you get me the stuff?"
"Well... I'll come here. Right here, in this little place. Pachique can come too sometimes."
I nodded.
"Ok... so... You can have these eggs now," she motioned to her bag, "and I'll come back tomorrow with the rest of the food and stuff. Ok?"
"Ok."
She opened her bag and took out about 20 eggs, setting them gently on a pile of leaves before pulling something else out of her bag that I couldn't see. Later I learned it was what she used to travel.
A few moments later, she was gone. I just stared where she had been, wondering if that all had just happened.
I took the eggs, wrapped them up in my sweater, and headed home.
That is how it all began.
ok, this should go without saying, but NO STEALING. I don't write sample over my pictures because 1. They are small enough and it would be hard to see them covered up, 2. I don't like to. It looks nicer without it, and 3. I trust you not to steal. Please don't, honestly, it's not that hard to draw, so go make your own. I WILL know if you steal...
Sample Pets:
Kiapets have 4 stages (not including eggs): Baby, Child, Teen, and Adult. They'll take about 4 updates to hatch. Once they've hatched, you can tell when they'll grow by their age. Each time they're updated (after they've hatched) 1 will be added to their age.
Baby - 0-4
Child - 4-9
Teen - 9-16
Adult - 16-?
These ages vary from pet to pet, depending on how well they're taken care of, what they're fed, etc. Some is just chance. If you mistreat your kiapet, weeeeeird things can happen. They can grow much faster than normal (and that's seriously unhealthy, if they do they'll lose health faster aswell), or stop growing completely. Some even run away.
