Age: Stopped caring a long time ago, looks in his mid 20's
Gender: Male
Race: Shinigami
Weapon: Zanpakuto
Weapon Info/Abilities: Haru's Zanpakuto, Garandou (Void), is quite possibly the most unusual Zanpakuto within Seireitei because of the fact that it's sealed form is a wooden sword. Colored black with a hilt wrapped in green wrapping, the only metal part of it being the tsuba and a gold cap on the tip of the blade. The sword is only the size of a wakizahshi as he only uses it as a shield sword with his hand-to-hand style of fighting.
Shikai:
Released by saying the words, "Devour all that lies before you, Garandou". A set of three claw blades attached to a metal gauntlet, the claws surrounded by a mass of black vapor, letting only the bare outline of the blades be seen. The claws drain the soul particles of the immediate area of whatever they cut and use them to empower Haru, enabling him to achieve a higher level of stamina than would normally be possible in a battle.
Bankai:
Boushi Garandou (Eye of the Void). Garandou transforms into a red eye bisected by a horizontal line with a triangle above and below it in an hourglass formation, taking the place of Haru's missing left eye. It gives him a heightened awareness of his surroundings as well as focuses Haru's reiatsu around his hands and feet, enabling him to make cuts as though he had blades attached to them as well as the regular super boost of attributes one gets from their bankai. Regular shikai ability remains unchanged.
Nexus: Nagaharu's eye rotates in its socket and opens, creating a vortex that draws in everything made of spirit particles in front of it for a short time, granting Nagaharu a burst of extremely high reiatsu strong enough for one super powerful attack.
Spirit form:
Garando's true form is a humanoid shaped mass of black vapor, the only definate characteristic being his eyes, the same eye that forms Haru's Bankai, and a larger eye in his chest.
Personal Abilities: Before Yoruichi claimed the title of God of Speed with her mastery of shunpo, Haru held the title because he'd trained his natural speed to the point where he didn't need to use flash steps any longer. His speed, though currently diminished from his time in Hueco Mundo, is close to a Quincy's Hirenkyaku. Also, because of the strain his speed puts on his body as well as his body being somewhat frail, Nagaharu has had to become adept at medical kidou in order to keep from getting gravely injured during every fight he undertakes. All of his training in medial kidou has enabled him to become a master in both binding and destructive kidou as well as in general reiatsu control.
Reiatsu Clone: A variation on the afterimage, a result of a speed burst in which the image of the person is left in the spot they moved from. Nagaharu leaves a portion of his reiatsu with the afterimage, making it not only look, but also feel as though he were in two or more places at once.
Reiatsu Shield: By gathering and condensing reiatsu around his limbs, he can parry physical attacks by shifting the momentum of the attack away from him before it even touches his skin. Doesn't work as a blocking tactic nor against kidou magic.
Character Bio: Nagaharu was born in Seireitei into one of the Four Noble Families, the Kuchiki Clan, as Byakuya Kuchiki's elder brother. When their father died, Nagaharu became the 28th head of the Kuchiki family at the young physical age of 15. His days in the Shinigami Academy were spent mostly in hand to hand combat as well as kidou, only taking the necessary amount of swordplay lessons to let him get by. It was discovered early on that Nagaharu, like Captain Ukitake, was frail in health, therefore wouldn't be able to fight on the level of some of the other students. Rather than let himself be taken care of, seeing it as a weakness he didn't need, Nagaharu began studying healing kidou with the 4th squad, being personally tutored by the 4th lieutenant at the time, Retsu Unohana, and eventually grew capable enough with it to not have to worry about his ailment as much.
During the Great Hollow War, Nagaharu had just graduated from the Shinigami Academy when he was drafted to fight. The decision had been hotly debated within his clan, but in the end he chose to go off and fight, leaving the family in the hands of the until he returned, as Byakuya still had a few years to go in the Academy. Nagaharu had originally been part of the 2nd Squad's Secret Mobile Corps, but after seeing the 14th Squad for the first time after their captain, Ikkimaru Shorajou, saved his life, he knew it was his destiny to become part of it. With the thought of joining the most powerful squad in the Gotei 14, Nagaharu fought and trained harder than he could ever remember to get his skills high enough.
When the day finally came that he was admitted into the 14th Squad, Nagaharu found that he'd been neglecting his duties as head of his family in favor of increasing his skills. But, he found himself not caring, as the desire to become stronger had begun to grow more and more prominent in his mind. The stronger he became, the further in the ranks he climbed, finding himself spending a lot of his time with Captain Ikkimaru, becoming relatively good friends with him until finally the day came when he was offered the rank of Vice-Captain, to which he replied in an ambiguous joke, "I'll accept this ranking, but know this. The moment you show any sign of weakness whatsoever, I'll cut you down and take the captainship for myself." They'd both laughed at his statement, but there's still some question as to whether or not Nagaharu really meant what he said.
After the war, while Captain Ikkimaru began his campaign to reform Soul Society to fit his image of a better life for the masses, Nagaharu went back to his duties as head of the Kuchiki household. Little did he know that his squad was about to become lost history. When the order came down to disband and banish the members of the 14th Squad, seated officers and all, Nagaharu was beseeched by his closest advisor, a wise old man named Shiten, to leave the squad and save himself for the sake of the clan, citing that Captain Ikkimaru was a fool who'd gone mad with power and was only digging his own grave. Nagaharu answered him by releasing Garandou and plunging his claws into Shiten's heart before going out to join his captain in battling the other 13 squads, forsaking his family. When they were finally banished after three years of struggle, Nagaharu's name was stricken from the clan records, his title as 28th Head of the Kuchiki Clan was given to Byakuya, who was sworn to deny Nagaharu's existance, and he was forced from Soul Society's memories with the rest of his squad.
Additional Info: While Nagaharu is amazingly fast, his strength is somewhat lacking as he's always been somewhat sickly and frail, which is why he wears his armor, a special alloy created by Urahara as a favor for Captain Ikkimaru which gives him better protection against Hollow attacks. Unfortunately, it wasn't designed to repel Zanpakutos. It's difficult to actually hit him, but when someone does, it tends to count for a lot.
