Mayuri arrived back at his office after the walk from the training grounds, rather bored with the way things were at the moment. He sat down in his chair and began to scan over some of the paperwork at his desk when suddenly Nemu arrived and said, "It seems that the new Captain girl has been deployed to the living world to dispatch someone. The person she is fighting at the moment is... a Vaizard."

Mayuri put down the papers he was reading and smiled slightly. "Nemu, I'm going out for a while. Hold things down here until I get back. I think a new specimen might be just the thing to make me feel better about today." He stood up and walked over to what looked like a closet made of glass, just big enough to fit him and maybe two other people. He pressed a few buttons and then suddenly disappeared in a flash of light.

Mayuri had arrived back at his lab not long before Unohana had entered. He flicked a switch to open the door for her without saying a word. His attention was not on her, but on his own body. The shot he had pumped into his blood was still active and the effect kept him in an accelerated state. Nemu, however, was not preoccupied with the effect of a drug and she quickly hurried over to greet their guest. "Welcome Unohana-taichou." She said with a bow. "What may we do for you?"

Mayuri's attention turned to Unohana and Nemu now that Nemu had spoken. His eyes were clearly dialated and he was sweating. His sweat, however, evaporated quickly as it seeped out. If Unohana were to touch his skin she would notice that it was well over 100 degrees Celcius in temperature. He still did not speak, but acknowledged her entry with his eyes.

"That won't be necessary..." Mayuri began, "I was just in a fight with a Vaizard who uses the Ice element in his Bankai. I injected myself with a serum that allowed for my body to withstand extremely high temperatures. Then, in the same serum, I injected something to raise my body temperature beyond that of normal. The effects just need to wear off. A cold shower won't do me any good anyhow. Your concern is noted." The mad scientist turned his attention back to the computer screen that he sat at. As he turned it could be observed that there were several wires running into his arm where he injected himself. He was gathering data on the results of the shot. The smile on his face, aside from its usual fixed position, showed that the results were to his liking. "So to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit? You're not just here to check up on me, are you?" He glanced back at the 4th Captain.

"Indeed." Mayuri muttered as she left. His preoccupation made him seem rather rude after such an honorably display of thanks from the elder Captain, but in all actuality he didn't mean to seem that way. Formalities were rarely his thing, but he'd usually show at least some appreciation for any kind of praise. The drugs in his system, however, did not allow him to think about such things at the moment. As he sat there he simply stared at the screen in front of him and slowly his body temperature dropped back down to 37 Degrees Celcius. His sweat began to stop and his pupils returned to normal from their dialated state. He quickly typed in the different observed side effects and the proper doses of drugs that would be necessary to counter act the annoying ones. Once that was all finished he pulled the needles from his arm and looked over to a different screen. This one showed a map of Seireitei, and on that map there were three black marks over the Eleventh, Forth, and First divisions, as well as one near the Central 46 headquarters.

"Nemu, this is what you called me back for, yes?" Mayuri asked. "Yes Mayuri-sama. The three shown here arrived at the same time and then this one appeared several moments later. Shall I inform Yamamoto-soutaichou?"

"That won't be necessary. I'll inform him myself. The energy that I gained from my shot is still present and I need to expend it or else I'll crash." The Captain said as he looked to his door. Before Nemu could answer he flashstepped out of the office headed for Yamamoto.

Mayuri drifted into his office, directly behind Byakuya, as silently as he could. When Byakuya asked his question Mayuri cleared his throat and said, "My dear Sixth Captain, I'm right behind you. What is it with this day? So many people coming to visit me in this drab place. I thought that no one really liked to come here." As he spoke, the mad scientist seemed to be speaking to no one at all rather than directly to Byakuya. It was more like he was just thinking out loud.

"Of course..." Mayuri said, "I'm almost always experimenting on someone, be it a subject or simply myself or Nemu. But I'm afraid that what your squad member sensed was an intruder... Someone who had broken into Seireitei under our sensors and left just as mysteriously. I was away so I couldn't have noticed it when it happened, but our computers didn't even pick it up until after the incident. Don't worry about it, though. I've already informed Yamamoto-soutaichou myself and he's dealing with it." The mad scientist cocked his head a little to the side as he spoke. Byakuya was supposedly a good man, a righteous law enforcer of Soul Society, but to Mayuri he was just another captain whom he had analized time and time again. Nothing special.

"Don't you think I already thought of that?" Mayuri said with a hint of disgust that this man thought he had an idea that Mayuri hadn't already had for himself. "Our computers are always looking for something like that. This invasion was unlike most that we've seen so far. The most similar occurance was when Aizen left with the help of the Gillians, but even still it was different. In any case, they have yet to detect any kind of intruder or otherwise foreign reiatsu." The Twelfth Captain paused for a moment and regained his composure. "Have a good day, Kuchiki-Taichou," He said with as much of a smile as he could muster. As Byakuya left Mayuri went over to his computer to reanalize the areas where the gates opened and closed. There was nothing odd about the Seireitei other than those four spots. But then he suddenly noticed something strange in the average levels of reiatsu. Areas from the Eleventh, Tenth, Fourth, and First Divisions all had lower reiatsu levels than usual. It wasn't anything specific, but it certainly was strange that three of those four were also areas where someone had broken in earlier. Mayuri decided that he would check them out personally by heading to the Eleventh Division first.
