The hand to hand combat squad. In charge of preserving methods of fighting without the use of Zanpakutos to keep Shinigami from becoming vulnerable should they be forced to fight without. They believe in training their bodies and knowing their own limitations before going into a fight, making them formidable in both hand to hand combat, but also in combat with Zanpakutos. Captain

Jyouzu stumbled back to his squad's HQ. Battle worn, and teary eyed at his loss. Captain Komamura has failed to bring former Captain Kaname Tosen back, he failed to show him the light. Jyouzu collasped on his bed, from the pain. He flashed back to what his ideal said to him "Jyouzu, I want you to be the one to lead Kaname Tosen to the light. Open his eyes, and lead him to the path of light." Jyouzu tried to interupt "But Captain!" "That's an order Jyouzu!" "Captain I'm not leaving you!" Jyouzu disobeyed directly " If you don't who will I be able to continue my fight?!" Jyouzu shed a tear in the flash back and in actuality. "Captian..." "Jyouzu...thanks." Captain Komamura said with a smile on his face. Jyouzu turned and fled the scene. Reverting from his bankai state to his unreleased Zanpakto. At the end of the flashback Jyouzu turned his head in anger and in sorrow. His heart heavy with hurt, Jyouzu knew he'd have to train for the day to save his dear Captain's friend.

Yamamoto had made his way to the Seventh Division Headquarters from the office of Unohana only to find that Komamura was no longer present here. The elder shinigami entered the main office without knocking seeing as how no captain were here to be offended by his unannounced arrival. He looked inside to see Jyouzu, one of Komamura's friends and students, sitting there in a rather meek state. "Young one, what has happened? Where is Komamura-Taichou?" He asked as he stepped inside. His piercing eyes drilled into Jyouzu's expecting a prompt answer.

Jyouzu whispered in aniguish. "Those arrancar, they did it...they did it...they killed him. He made me swear...to show Kaname Tosen to the light...a true way to justice..." Jyouzu turned to Captain Yamato tears in his eyes and anguish in his voice. "Captain yamato, he's dead. He went to go save Cap-um I mean Kaname Tosen, and I went along with him for back up support. Then...he ordered my retreat but he didn't follow...no, he didn't follow." "His final words were "Take my place. Show Kaname Tosen the truth and the light of justice."

Yamamoto's brow furrowed. "Komamura-taichou is dead..." He muttered. A slight bit of regret overcame him as he remembered one of the lessons that he should have given the canine captain. "I should have trained him to better let go of those close to him. I should have known that he would try to bring back Former Captain Tosen. This is a tragic loss for Soul Society. I expect you to fill his shoes as well as you can, Jyouzu-taichou, but do not make the same mistake he did. In one week we will formally introduce you as the new captain of the Seventh Division. Until then, fill in and keep your squad under control." Yamamoto bowed slightly and turned. If he weren't such a stone cold leader with a cool and level head he would probably be weeping at the loss of his friend and student, but there was never time for tears when in his position.

Jyouzu kept his composure in the presence of Captain Yamato, as he made his exit he bowed out of respect. Sitting in the seat of where his mentor sat he thought to himself. Trying to shake his agonizing memories of his Captain's death. All his efforts prove futile. He wanted so badly the taste of revenge. "I musn't! What would Captain Yamato, and Captain Komamura think? I will get my chance. Just not now. I must get stronger, manage my bankai, and control this Squad just as Captain Komamura did." Jyouzu retreated to his old quarters as the old third seat for the last few days as a Candidate for Officer status.

Jyouzu wondered through his squad the desolence and quiet lifestyle was too much for teh new Captain. Work must be done. Jyouzu wore his new Captain's jacket with pride and dignity. Even though he ripped off teh sleeves. "It's time to step up and be the leader Captain Komamura made me to be!" Jyouzu looked to the sky and imagined Captain Komamura staring back down at him with his guidance and wisdom.
