The headquarters of the exiled 14th squad of the Gotei 13.
A structure, like Los Noches, that was not created by those currently residing in it, but simply found by them. The Sanctuary, as it's called, is a mid-sized square building with an open air center section used as a meditation garden. The separate quarters are fairly equal in size without much decor save for furniture cut from various rocks and boulders found around Hueco Mundo. Around the structure is a reiatsu supressing barrier that keeps Hollows from detecting the reiatsu of the squad members.

Mugoi woke from his stone bed, cracking his neck and back with a few quick jerks of his joints as he rose to a stand. He rotated his arms one way, then the other, trying to loosen himself up for the day's challenges. It was time for his Bankai training. He had waited well over 600 years so he figured that since they were waiting for Du'o to take them to the living world that he should finally train. He headed out of his room and made his way out of the main entrance to head for the desert.

"Hic..." Ikkimaru hiccuped as he sat atop a quartz chair in the main hall of the Sanctuary. The gord of wine in his hand was nearly empty and his drunken state would had not wavered at all over the hours. His single eye drifted around the room, searching for any sign of his loyal squad members. "Hey, Haru, do you know where anyone is?" He called out, hoping Nagaharu would hear him from one of the adjacent rooms. For all he knew Haru wasn't even in the building, but it didn't matter. If he got an answer then that was great, but if there were still silence then that too would be an answer.

"Mugoi said something about Bankai training, so I'm guessing he's off in the desert. As for Duo, who the hell knows. Probably off doing...Hollow....stuff." Nagaharu replied, stepping into the main hall as he tied his headband over his empty left eye socket. He'd just been out in the desert training not long ago and decided to catch a bit of shut eye afterwards. It wasn't as if there was anything else to do in this barren wasteland. Besides, he wasn't about to let his skills falter just because he was stuck here. If anything, it would only be reason to strengthen them further for when they eventually escaped. It had been six hundred years since they had been exiled from Seireitei, but Haru knew the time was coming when they could finally return, with or without permission from Central 46. "How long do you think it will be before we can go back?" he asked, wrinkling his nose a bit at the pungent smell of alcohol in the room.

Ikkimaru gulped the last bit of wine down as he listened to Haru's response, then set the gord down gently on the stone table to his right. It had taken him nearly a year to carve the gord out of quartz using a small pick from the scabbard of his sword and he wasn't about to break it now. "I think that once Du'o is ready to take us away we can go to the Living Realm right away. I don't think going back to Soul Society right away is a good idea since we have no idea how they have grown in strength over the past half millenia. From there we can find a shinigami on patrol and ask him what he knows, by force if necessary."
A slight grin crept across his face as he thought of what he would do to those who were around and responsible for his squad's bannishment.

"Hmph, grown in strength? You know what peacetime does to warriors. There hasn't been a war between the Hollows and the Shinigami since the Great Hollow Wars, we would have known about it for certain. I wouldn't count on them having grown in strength much at all. But, I suppose it would be best not to take unnecessary risks." Haru replied with a roll of his eye.
Glancing out a nearby window, he asked, "Do you think we should be concerned with the Shinigamis who have taken residence in that fortress several miles from here? I did some reconnicence and was considering extending the hand of unity to fellow exiles, but they don't seem to be like us. They're all captain class and one is quite powerful, more so even than you if I'm not mistaken, and he seems to be leading an army of Hollows who've somehow gained the forms and powers of Shinigami. It just seems a bit troubling is all."

Ikkimaru shrugged his shoulders a little, "They are not really our concern for now. I've been sensing them since they arrived and only one would be a real challenge. Though I didn't even consider that those others that you speak of were hollows. I'd be interested to find out what their plans are, but right now all I want to do is get out of this hell hole." He stretched himself out a bit and then rested again.
"Once we leave and get a feeling for the situation in this world, Soul Society, and the Living World, then we can figure out if those other Shinigami should require our attention. We can possibly use them to our advantage..."

"Agreed. Escape is definitely our number one priority. Personally, I'd rather skip the trip to the Real World and head straight back to Seireitei, but I'm not the one wearing the haori." Haru replied, stretching his arms over his head before leaning back against the wall. "Use them to our advantage? Perhaps. Still, I think I should pay a little visit to the fortress, if only to get a feel for the general levels of reiatsu we can expect as well as attempt to open some lines of communication with our fellows from Soul Society. Who knows, they could be potential powerful allies, especially if we are like-minded in our stance against the current powers ruling Soul Society. That is, if they haven't already changed their ways since we left."

"If you think it will benefit us, go right ahead." Ikkimaru stated with a thoughtful eye. "I doubt that Soul Society has changed. Yamamoto doesn't change his ways easily and if he's still alive then he won't be happy to see us and Soul Society is probably still in such a poor condition. In any case, do what you want with the other Shinigami. I'm sure we can learn something from them if we listen right."

"And you should know that if I'm anything, it's a good listener." Nagaharu replied, pushing off of the wall and heading down the hallway to the door leading outside. It was, as always, dark and dreary out with a crescent moon hanging perpetually overhead. Such a depressing sight, even after all this time. Off in the distance, the fortress could just barely be seen. It didn't look that big, but that was part of the construction of the building, to present an optical illusion of size in proportion to distance. One could run towards it at full sprint and feel like they were running in place were it not for the quartz trees whizzing by. At least, that's what it would have been like for the others. Nagaharu, on the other hand, would be there in only a couple hours.
In the blink of an eye, there was a cloud of sand rising up into the air and he was gone.

Leaning against the wall in shadows near the captain, Dreza seemed as if he had been there the entire time yet had only arrived moments before. Zanpakuto sheathed and held loosly in his left hand, "Taichou, you still have not told the rest that I have been to that fortress, several times now? The seemingly mutated hollows on the outskirts are relativly weak compared to those within, but even they possess strange powers. It seems they were once menos from what I can sense but I do not have proof from the few fights I have had."
With no noticable movement, he was almost instantly leaning against the poosite wall. "And it does seem some of the squad have let their abilities go to seed. I suggest you warn everyone to prepare if we are to leave Heuco Mundo soon."

"Oh, so it was that fortress that you spoke of... Well from the way you worded things before I didn't really feel that it would be of much threat to us so I didn't really care to discuss it with others." Ikkimaru replied to the Seventh Seat of his bannished squad. He didn't move much as he was used to Dreza's sporadic movements.
"As for the others, I know that Nagaharu and Mugoi are doing well with their skills. The others are slacking a bit but I have informed them that we will be leaving soon. They can do what they wish for now, but if they get in a fight that they can't handle due to deterioration of their skills, then they can die. I'm not worried about that, though. I'm sure they'll come around and get in shape."

Shaking his head at the captains drunken ramblings, "What other fortress filled with mutated menos is there.... Or shinigami aside from us." Grip tightening on his zanpakuto.
"Was it a good idea to send the liutenant alone? We both know he doesn't have much thought towards stealth and hiding his reiatsu, they surly have spotted him even now."

"Do not doubt his ability. I would trust him with my life and if he finds something he cannot handle I'm sure he will return shortly." Ikkimaru responded shortly. "Besides, we don't even know if they will be hostile toward our group. And any hostilities you may have experienced from your previous visits may have been because you were snooping around instead of acting without stealth. We will see how this plays out and then decide how to handle it further."

"I have no doubts of his abilities, only that he may act too rashly consideering theree are at least three officer strength shinigami inside. If they attack me while standing a distance away watching it is far more likely they will attack him inside." Closing his eyes briefly, when he openeed theme theye had changed color. His right eye jete black and the left crimson.
Staring past the captain as if through the stone, "It seems that the rift these altered hollows use to travel between realms opens differenetly than other hollows. It is opened by power instead of torn, causing it to remain open longer." Blinking his eyes went back to simple brown "I also can feel the tiniest hint of the void in spirit particles from the living world. I can not notice that when even menos grande travel back and forth."
