Bio: Izuru Kira was born to a family of lesser nobility, his parents having been dead since he was young. While in the shinigami academy, Izuru befriended Momo Hinamori, Renji Abarai, and Shūhei Hisagi, and they are often seen spending time together. After graduation, Izuru, along with Renji and Momo, was sent to the 5th Division, and Izuru also spent some time in the 4th Division, as noted by Shūhei, and the fact that he carries medical implements like shinten, a trait virtually exclusive to members of the 4th Division. Izuru is a gloomy and introspective person, not easily given to socializing with others. He generally appears weak and diffident, leading many to believe he lacks ability as a leader. As an officer, he does not tend to inspire confidence or boost morale the way other lieutenants do. However, in combat he shows ruthless determination. Izuru has shown himself remorseless with this, beheading an opponent that was pleading for mercy.

His personality flaws are also assets: his introspection coupled with his tendency to worry makes him indecisive, but it also makes him sensitive to unusual behavior. His loyalty to his comrades inspires him to great efforts in their defense, as seen when Momo Hinamori attacks Gin Ichimaru. Izuru is loyal to both his friends and his duties, perhaps to a fault. Despite the close friendship he shares with Momo Hinamori, Izuru shows that his loyalty knows no boundaries when he defends his captain while she is in a grief-induced rage from her own captain's apparent death. Despite this, he calls himself a 'monster' afterwards for raising his sword against her.

Name: Cezary Regard

Bio: Cezary is an extremely pessimistic shinigami who use to live in the outer regions of Rukongai, living on his own due to his unfriendly nature. Although he was once apparently a friendly person, an accident in which Cezary fell from a considerable height and hit his head caused him to both dislike heights and become more distant, changing him for the worse. The Capital of Cezary's district was ruled by a rather unsavory troupe who weren't even recognized by Soul Society, and it was well known that they would assault the locals and take whatever they wanted. Cezary was overlooked due to his self-sustaining life style which had very little the group might be interested in, but even so he began to train in order to fend for himself and to eventually run out the group; the plan was simple, all he had to do was defeat the oppressive gang and he'd become more of a hero, becoming able to live in luxury and to gain the attention of some of the beautiful gals in town.

All of this was undone though when he heard that a group of loose cannon kids had come to town and beaten the gang, ruining the scheme of Cezary Regard. Although he went to see others after the district was free, many saw fit to comment on how the laid-back Cezary never had to fear the gang, nor did he ever stand up for the district when the others had. Eventually feeling run out by this hostile behavior, Cezary picked up the few things he had and left, vowing to find the gang who had saved the district to let them know just what he thought of such heroics. The leader of that gang was Vyse Inglebard, and Cezary eventually followed the exploits of the gang, catching up to them but never confronting the gang. Instead he used the skills he'd obtained in a lifetime of living alone to observe the gang, and eventually he realized just how annoyingly pointless his quest was; something that always left a bitter taste in his mouth. Finally, Cezary left the Rukongai and went to the Shinigami Academy, forsaking the people who had run him out and the gang of kids he'd decided not to confront, expecting to see none of it ever again.

Nearing his sixth year in the Academy however, Cezary was assigned to lead a bunch of students against a number of dummy Hollows. Much to his surprise, Cezary became in charge of a large group that had just a few familiar names; the most prominent of which was Vyse Inglebard. During the assignment Cezary could easily hear the words of most of his underclassmen remarking either on his particularly good reputation in the Academy, or on just how cynical Cezary was, and it easily began to get to him. However Vyse, along with his group, seemed far too rapped up in completing the assignment with an exotic flare to talk about the unpopular sixth year, and eventually Cezary found himself talking to them and giving hints on what he'd learned since coming to the Academy first. After the expedition was done, Cezary found himself talking to the ones he'd once bitterly resented, and since then he and Vyse seemed to come into contact much more often, even joining the same squad. Finally, Cezary came to realize that the two weren't parting ways any time soon, and it's safe to say that while the cynical shinigami may not be all cured of his bad attitude, and may have a penchant for blaming Vyse for most of his self-inflicted troubles, he's much more open the original guy who once lived in the outskirts of Rukongai.
