This is the Records and Annals Office. Basically it is a glorified library for members of the Shinigami Academy and the Thirteen Court Guards. It holds all records thought to be fit for remembering in massive shelves with volumes upon volumes of information ranging from different events in the Living Realm to records of the Great Hollow Wars. Shinigami you will often find here are students at the Academy or the more studious members of the Gotei 13 like Captain Ukitake or Nanao (that is, if she is not doing paperwork for her lazy Captain).

Kyouraku arrived at the Records office in record time as he couldn't wait to get to drinking with Matsumoto. And, of course, he looked perfect upon arrival with the papers he carried still arranged neatly in a pile. The workers and librarians all looked in awe at the Captain. This was a very rare sight to see being that he generally made Nanao take all of the paper work to this place. He smiled smoothly and winked at a few of the ladies who were filing records and putting away books. Most of them swooned, but a few simply shook their heads. In Kyouraku's world all of them were in love with him and he could easily win them over, but in reality most of them wouldn't even be able to stand one date with the man.
The pink-coated Captain made his way to the appropriate window and slid the papers in front of the worker. He tapped them lightly with his index finger and said, "These are from the Tenth Division. File them well." Once again he gave a suave wink to the girl behind the window and she couldn't help but blush. She nodded, too speechless to speak, and he turned to step away. Before getting to far away he turned back and noticed her looking at him. He smiled and continued on his way out to wait for Matsumoto. He was more than prepared for a good night of sake and several good looks at the blonde fukutaichou's figure.

Some time after Kyouraku-taichou and Matsumoto had taken off, Hitsugaya finally rounded the corner and entered the infamously musty office himself. He said nothing to the two of them at first, merely taking the same route the Eighth captain had trodden before handing off his own stack of paperwork to another young woman. He, however, did not even look at the woman, let alone try to wink at her. Those sorts of vulgar trivialities could be handled well enough by Kyouraku-taichou all on his own. But now that the nearest deadlines had been met, there was very little he could do to keep his mind occupied. With Matsumoto off gallivanting with the Eighth Division, he really wouldn't want to be holed up in the office suffering alone. He did enough of that already, thank you very much. Perhaps he'd just take a small walk or something, and it was about time to buy some groceries. That would have to do.

Matumoto quickly followed the captains to the office just wanting to get rid of the paperwork she now held in her arms. Anything to get to the bar quicker was good for her. She had spent her whole day in the office and was quite honestly tired of it. Sitting behind a desk trying to fill out pointless paperwork was not her idea for fun as it was for some people. She quickly handed off the papers to a lower level soul reaper passing by. "Can you take care of these?" She asked adjusting herself chest sticking out farther then usual. ANYTHING to get out to the bar sooner was a good idea for her. Ever since Gin left her to work for Aizen she had enjoyed spending her free time with sake in hand. It always helped to rid herself of painful memories. As the young man took the papers from her, eyes wide, she turned to Shunsui.
Rubbing her hands together Matsumoto smiled at the captain of the eight division. "You ready to get something to drink? I think we have all of our things in order" She said rocking back and fourth on her heals, hands sliding behind her back right hand, holding onto her left wrist.

Kyouraku grinned at the busty lieutenant and replied, "I'm always ready to get my drink on!" He rushed to her side and locked arms with her in a playful manner. He turned and looked about, trying to remember where the nearest bar was. "Which place do you want to try this time? The bar near Central 46 headquarters is usually good. Then there's the one between the sixth and seventh divisions... Hard to choose just one!" The pink coated captain couldn't wait to get going, but he felt it was up to Matsumoto to decide where they should head. Ladies first, of course.

After a moment of thought Matsumoto smiled wide. "Lets go to the one between the sixth and seventh divisions. That's the one I usually got to. It's the best bar around." Grabbing Shunsuis hand she pulled him out the door. Anywhere would be better then the stuffy old records office. She hated being here as it was. The dust got to her and being stuck inside a place like this with very few windows on a beautiful day like today, if she didn't have sake in her hands, was not her idea of fun. Paperwork was something her captain was good at, heck her friends were good at but not her. She was more like Shunsui a free spirit. Being caged inside did not work for the cat like soul reaper. "If we don't get there soon my booth will be taken." She added as they walked out onto the path, letting go of his hand as they began to walk. "Are you sure that Nanao-san isn't going to get mad with you running out like this? I know how much she hates your constant drinking"

"Nanao-chan's fine..." Shunsui remarked as the blonde goddess lead the way to her favorite bar. "She understands my situation. I just can't help but want to drink with such a lovely lady, and since she doesn't drink then she has to accept my going out some of the time." The Captain smiled smoothly and one would swear that he gave a wink toward Matsumoto, but it was so sly that it really couldn't be caught by the naked eye. As they walked he took a deep breath of excitement. It had been a while since he had been able to go out and drink with a friend as opposed to drinking alone in the office. Company always made sake taste better, especially if it was with someone like Matsumoto, or Soifon, or even Ukitake. One person that he had not had the pleasure of drinking with for over one hundred years was Yoruichi. That would be a good day when he got the chance to do so.

Nanao quickly rounded the corner almost running full tilt into the chest of the tenth divisions vice-captain. Slightly out of breath she looked from one to the other thankful that she did not smell liquor that she knew they were both on their way to ingest. "Sir, I don't know if word has been sent this far yet but there has been some sort of attack and we are needed as back up." She said quickly in between breaths Letting out a soft groan Matsumoto listened to what Nanao had been telling her captain. If there was a fight breaking out Hitsugaya was going to be pissed that she had not been at his side. He had given her permission to go and get a drink with Kyouraku but if there was work to be done all bets were off. Anything he had told her prior was now out the window and work was her first and only priority. "And just when I was going to get a break" She mumbled looking back to Shunsui. "Well I guess we will have to take a rain check on that drink sir. Though next time I'm sure I'm going to have to sneak out of the office. I was lucky Hitsugaya-taichou gave permission this time" She said with a weak laugh. "I'll see you two later" With that she took off in search of her captain. ((sorry it took so long but I really am back now and I should never take that long to respond again I just hope I didn't mess anything up ... and I know its a bit short but I wanted to get something up as soon as I could and I couldn't really come up with anything ))

((It's okay, nothing's ruined. I was out of things for Kyouraku to do anyway so I decided that he should go get a drink, but now that there's an attack there's something to do.))
Kyouraku had heard the explosions but he hoped that they were just some experiment gone wrong in the 12th Division. His urge to drink was stronger than his curiousity of the explosions that he was going to completely ignore them. But, with Nanao here stating that there was an attack he knew that it wasn't good... "Let's return to the office and make sure that our squad is ready to move if needed." He said in a rather serious tone. He began to feel out the reiatsu of anyone who seemed to be attacking. All he could really pick out were the pressures of a few unfamiliar shinigami and an arrancar. The arrancar worried him the most at this point, but the shinigami may be the worst part.
