I use to think that Oprah was a christian until this year. I'm sure you all have gone through this before i have because u guys are in the US and I'm in Australia. She believes in multiple ways of salvation other then Jesus. She has definitely had the mentality before of wrong context reading in the bible, otherwise she is an example of what happens when we are too consumed with materialism. She is very spiritual in a way she believes that good deeds though kindness is the purpose of life. Not only that, she believes that christ is a mere stage of spirituality we must reach in our inner being. She is I guess called dellusional and I'm also saddened that it had to be her. Maybe in the near future she might turn back to our true God, other wise she would be cassified as a classic pharisee and Jesus will say he doesn't know her. I guess we can pray for her...

Pardon me, I don't mean to dispute you, but could we get some source for this? Is it in her magazine or something? I don't watch her show, and when Meadow talks about her show, I automatically tune it out.

I don't question that Oprah's evil. I've always referred to her fans as the O-Cult with good reason. I figured the Antichrist would be the love child of her and Bill Gates. I just need some visible, hard-copy evidence. Skepticism is my nature. That, and it would get Meadow to quit watching.

By the way, welcome aboard, and I don't mean to argue, but ... well, yes I do sweatdrop . Argument is also my nature.

I didn't believe it myself before that she isn't christian but she's not. I guess if we do say she's antichrist is too much but simply lost. Youtube-Oprah denies only way
Just from Youtube but again I've done my research by talks and reading of who she is, just very straight forward that she is trying to be tolerant of other beliefs but not. Have desensitized in multiple ways and have not accepted only way through Christ.

I've seen that video. I pretty much expect that from any big figure nowadays. neutral

I think I found the one
New life in my lungs
I'm guessing this is love
Pumping through my veins
Killing all my pain
You're the remedy to my heartbreak
Wouldn't have it any other way
Hope this never dies...

You know, this is interesting for me to come across this because we just talked about her in my world religions class the other day. We read an article about how she has endorsed that self-help book "The Secret."

If I can find the article on the internet I'll post a link here, it's actually interesting and mildly frightening what she had bought into and what she's teaching others to buy into.

EDIT: I also was going to mention that a couple of my friends from church were actually on her show a couple of years ago and they said that they got to watch the full interviews with certain people and then when they watched the show once it was edited, certain aspects were taken out. They were on the show that Bear Grylls was on (a few years back), and they cut out part of the interview where he talked about the most important things to that he kept with him. The most important things, he said, were his knife, his family (he had a laminated picture of them that he kept in his sock or something) and his Faith. They completely cut out the faith part. My friends also talked about how she was vain and always worried about how she looked (which makes sense for a TV host, but I think it was more so than most people).

Anyway, now I think I've gotten everything in. Once again, if I find the article I'll post the link.

I feel a little strange
You go straight to my brain
Drivin' me oh so crazy
Between the sound and lights
You got me hypnotized
And if there never comes a sunrise
Well, that'd be just fine
This will never die...

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." (Matthew 19:24)

Oprah is embraced by a huge fan base, just like politicians and entertainers who wants to retain their popularity to the widest fan base;
it's typical to water down ur spiritual stance to include the majority.

"Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby." (Matthew 7:13)

Let us pray for Oprah and our political leaders that they will be able to exhibit our country's motto "In God we trust" The One and Only God, Who Was, Is, and Is to come.

That became the national motto in 1956 as propaganda to counter public Soviet atheism.

Has anybody else seen this video clip? Apparently, we mere layfolk aren't the only ones who're iffy about Oprah; a preacher is getting into the act. This is only a small clip; personally, I'd love to see/hear the rest of his sermon.

Wow. I can honestly say that I had never read this before. Believe me, I have NEVER liked Oprah, and I never listened to her BS, but I hadn't even heard of this muck. If she is not the anti-christ, she's certainly the closest I've seen (Her and Joel Olsteen, that is). I cannot even fathom why these people would buy into that scam. It's a shame, a real shame.

(emphasis added)

Ah, yes. Another saddening example of how Christian views are being silenced. This silencing is part of the problem of growing "scam" salvation. I heard of a Focus on the Family (a Christian radio show) TV special on how Christians are being silenced. The special was cancelled because it was "controversial." I will quote the article I was reading: "So homosexuals having intimate relationships isn't controversial, but Christians being silenced is?" (paraphrased) This (along with celebreties like Oprah) is what is causing nationwide "scam" salvation.

So many children are being taught that whatever feels right is ok. In fact, in a documentary I've seen, one child recognized a picture of Ronald McDonald, but couldn't identify a picture of Jesus. It's extremely saddening how many innocent children are being led astray by non-Christian parents.

And on that anti-Christ note: I don't think Oprah is the anti-Christ. She is just a common hipocryte who thinks she is helping people, but is really just being manipulated by Satan into disillusioning other people about Christ. My own opinion about the anti-Christ's identity is still developing, but I have a friend whose dad thinks President Obama is the anti-Christ. This makes sense to me, as he claimed to be Christian to gain votes, but now has horrible policies that are corrupting our nation and governmental system. (More on that in another topic which I will make later)

All in all, though, I agree with the rest of you about Oprah. But as Meijosui and Indigo Racer said, and as the Bible tells us, we should "pray for our enemy," or those who are against us and our faith. (Matthew 5:44) Another verse that may apply here: 1 Corinthians 10:33 - "For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, that they may be saved." Just thought I'd keep things in perspective, because we don't want to look like hipocrytes here. (That would just give aetheists ammo >.>)

There's a reason why the bible tells us how hard it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
