I've decided to expand the ranking system.. only four ranks is pretty retarded.
It's fairly straightforward, so it should not be hard to make sense of. There are still the four ranks or rank categories, and each rank category has for ranks. the highest rank of one category has about the same influence as the lowest rank of the next category.
1. Private; a starting soldier.
-Private third class
-Private Second class
-Private First class
-Master Private
2.Captain; A more experienced soldier, squad leader.
-Corporal
-Captain
-Captain at-arms
-Master Captain
3. Seargeant; Much more experienced, usually stays on the ship,sees little action.
-Seargeant Third class
-Seargeant Second class
-Seargeant first class
-Master Seargeant
4.Admiral; Head of the ship, makes major decisions, sees little action.
-General (ground forces)
-Admiral (Single ship) (Often still called 'Captain')
-Vice Admiral (squadron)
-Fleet Admiral

Now the ranking system really does seem like the mutated offspring of the naval and army ranking systems

woot! It now bears absolutely no resemblance to any ranking system known to mankind! xd
some of the names seem 'meh': Master private, captain-at-arms, master captain
Master private -> lance corporal?
captain-at-arms -> lieutenant?
master captain -> major?
