Captain: Byakuya Kuchiki
Details: Head of one of the 4 noble houses in the Seireitei, Byakuya Kuchiki defends the law absolutely. The most famous of the 13 Captains, his Zanpaktou 'Senbonzakura' is feared and respected amongst peers and enemies alike. Byakuya has been Captain for less than 100 years, but his reputation in that time has become quite legendary. His devotion to his duty is unmatched...to the extreme that he once dueled with Ichigo Kurosaki to a razor-thin loss to uphold the execution of his adopted sister Rukia. He is strongly motivated by events in his past, including a promise to his deceased parents and the death of his wife, Hisana. Byakuya is also quite protective of his adopted sister, Rukia, claiming her as his pride and swearing to kill those who try to bring her harm.

Vice-Captain: Renji Abarai
Details: Once a resident of the Rukon District and the class clown of the Shinigami Academy, Renji was the childhood friend of Rukia Kuchiki before her adoption into the Kuchiki House. That event inspired him to strive to surpass Byakuya Kuchiki in strength, and eventually lead him to becoming the man's Vice-Captain. A longtime friend of Vice-Captain Kira, Vice-Captain Hinamori, and Vice-Captain Hisagi as well (stemming from time together in the Academy), he is the first of their group that is known to have achieved the level of Bankai.
