Details: As one of the Divisions formerly focused on forward attacking and defense of the barriers of Soul Society, 3rd Division has fallen on hard times with the loss of their Captain Gin Ichimaru to the defections. Having been twisted and manipulated by the former Captain, Squad 3 is left without a leader or a direction, though little by little, the well-rounded Vice-Captain Kira seems to be picking up the pieces and raising his stock as a potential replacement.

Vice-Captain: Izuru Kira
Details: Once an Academy classmate of Abarai Renji, Momo Hinamori, and Shuhei Hisagi, Kira emerged as one of the most well-rounded of the group and quickly rose through the ranks of the 5th, 4th, and 3rd Squads (all of which he spent time serving in), eventually receiving a promotion to Vice-Captain of the 3rd under Gin Ichimaru. Manipulated by the former Captain, however, he too became a victim of the defections, and now struggles to pick up the pieces of the 3rd Squad, while making amends with those he wronged while serving the former Captain.
