A large, raised plateau in the center of Soul Society, watched over by the Shrine of Penitence, this is the sacred execution ground for Soul Reapers and enemies of the Soul Society. Using a towering halberd called Sokyoku with the power of a million Zanpaktou to burn these prisoners to nothing, it stands as a monument to the laws, the judgment, and the power of Soul Society and its 13 Protection Squads.
Despite its ominous presence, few have ever met with a death at the tip of the Sokyoku. The most recent prisoner assigned to this form of punishment was Rukia Kuchiki, who was saved from her execution by Ichigo Kurosaki and Captains Kyouraku Shunsui and Jushiro Ukitake. As a result, the Hill has hosted several incredible battles, including the one between Captain Byakuya Kuchiki and the ryoka Kurosaki over the life of Rukia Kuchiki.
