The Reserve Strike Force. Members of the 14th Squad are considered to be elite warriors of great experience. It is because of this that there are actually so few of them in the squad. Unlike other squads, which fill up well past the Twentieth Seat, the 14th Squad is lucky to have more than ten people in it. They are the efficient squad, called upon when there is an opponent that the other squads can't defeat. They are the Yang to the First Squad's Yin. While the First Squad is composed of the most talented graduates from the Academy and a few seasoned warriors they are mainly an administrative squad. The Fourteenth Squad is for those who may not be great leaders but are excellent fighters. This squad differs from the Eleventh Squad in that they are generally not the first on the battlefield. Those without patience would not do well in this squad. Captain Mugoi Yuunou Vice-Captain Zane Hitsugaya 3rd seat 4th seat 5th seat 6th seat 7th seat 8th seat 9th seat 10th seat 11th seat 12th seat 13th seat 14th seat 15th seat 16th seat 17th seat 18th seat 19th seat 20th seat

"Keep running you maggots!" Shouted the powerful voice of the new Captain of the Fourteenth Squad. With his shikai released he thrust the blunt end of his spear into the ground, sending a ball of flames straight up into the sky as he urged the members of his squad to work harder. Mugoi was a harsh Captain. He had a hell of a reputation to live up to now that he was the Captain of the famous squad that took over Soul Society. This new batch of kids were certainly no match for what the squad used to be, and it was his job to make them even a fraction of what they should be. The members of the squad were also quite determined to live up to the name of the squad they were a part of. Each of them had a lot of talent, and even more potential, but it would take a lot of work on each of their parts in order to rise to the proper heights Mugoi wanted them to. "Push yourselves! We are the efficient. We are the strong. We are the last resort! Weakness will not be tolerated! If you want to avoid pain then go fight for the Eighth Squad, but if you want to be in my squad then you will muscle through the pain!" Each of the soldiers under his command shouted out resounding "yes sir's" in response to his brief statements.
After several more minutes he leapt down to where the tired shinigami were running lines and landed with a hard crash, causing several of them to fall over. He shook his zanpakuto into two pieces, a katana and a saya, and sheathed his sealed blade. "Come at me with everything you have now. Use your shikai if you must, I will fight unarmed." The exhausted shinigami gave slight groans of complaint, knowing what was about to hit them, but Mugoi wasn't about to let them stall or let their guards down. He immediately appeared behind the closest one and thrust his elbow into the man's back. While it appeared that he was going to have no mercy on them the truth was that even now he was holding back. They would break no bones, they would simply end up on their asses, bruised and humiliated. It was cruel, but at the end of the day all of the soldiers felt that they had accomplished something, and were even treated to hearty meals to replenish their strength. These little training sessions weren't every day, either. They were trained every other day, and had a day of "rest" in which they would rotate through a schedule of chores. Some of them actually had days off while others were stuck doing a range of cleaning assignments, paperwork, or woodwork. Mugoi's squad was to be well rounded, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Sitting on a wall on the edge of the Squad, Zane observed the 'training regime' of new recruits. He often joined in, just for the fun of it, and to get into shape. "Push yourselves! We are the efficient. We are the strong. We are the last resort! Weakness will not be tolerated! If you want to avoid pain then go fight for the Eighth Squad, but if you want to be in my squad then you will muscle through the pain!" , Mugoi's voice pierced the air, his harsh voice acting almost like a whip. He smiled, and cheered encouragingly as the recruits continued on. Mugoi was indeed a harsh captain, but he did it to get results. He was determined to whip these kids into shape, and Zane would be with him all the way.
He watched them endure the vicious cycle of running, then being beaten up by Mugoi unarmed. He sighed, bored. He watched them fall, one by one, until the last one stood by himself, sweating and clearly out of energy. Zane shunpo'd quickly behind him, and pulled his sword from it's sheath, parrying the captain's next attack with his sword. He smiled slightly, and cocked his head to the side. "Shall we dance?" he asked innocently, keeping his zanpakuto half in it's sheath. He occasionally sparred with his captain, and his skills were gradually increasing. The last time they'd just sparred with unreleased swords had lasted for three hours, resulting in his inevitable defeat. Each time, he would then train harder and harder, just to improve on the last time and maybe overcome Taicho-san.

Mugoi was just about to deliver a final blow on the one remaining trainee, but that was when Zane stepped in and offered a "dance." Mugoi was about to accept the offer when suddenly Ikkimaru's voice rang through his thoughts. "Attention all officers. There has been an escape from a prison facility at the Second Division. Escapees are armed and to be considered extremely dangerous. Report to the Second to quell the revolt as necessary. That is all. He turned his attention toward the Second Division. How could he have missed that? There were several strong reiatsu presences in that direction, but he must have been so focused on training his recruits that he had just shrugged it off. "Zane, you heard the order, right? While our Squad won't be moving out I think that one of us should go there and check it out. You may go if you wish. I will wait here until further orders." If the situation was actually serious enough to call for his help he'd move, and Ikkimaru knew that Mugoi wouldn't move without a direct order. That was not the point of the 14th Squad. But if Zane wanted to get out there and rip 'em up that was his choice as a Lieutenant.

Doki came speeding into the 14th Squad Headquarters with record time in doing so, and as she came to a stop she found herself face to chest with the relatively new Captain of her former Squad, former Fourth Seat Mugoi Yuunou. She smiled up at him being that he was quite a bit taller than she was, and while her expression was a warm one her tone was quite serious. "Hey there Mu, it seems that our Captain has requested your involvement. You remember Kanau, right? That mercenary Vaizard that has become friends with the Captain? He's in trouble. Head to sector 17 immediately and face the one who's causing all the problems. I'll be nearby examining the fight, but don't be afraid to give it your all. I can handle myself." Doki smirked, this was going to be fun. Just like old times, right?

Mugoi had been on patrol as per the Soutaichou's orders, and as soon as he sensed Doki coming his way he had already turned to greet his "little sister." "Nice to see you too, Doki." He said after her instant greeting followed by orders. They didn't have much time to hang out these days, not that he was complaining. They'd had 600 years of personal time together, a couple of weeks without interaction wasn't going to kill them. "You've got it. Zane, I'll be back soon, watch over the division while I'm gone." He called back after afirming the order. He looked to Doki with a grin then turned and launched himself in Shunpo to head for Kanau's position. He could sense the guy near the Vaizard's position, but had no feel for Kanau himself.

Zane was about to jet off to the action, when Doki appeared out of thin air. He bowed in respect to the old-teammate, now-lieutenant, and sheathed his sword. Looked like he was going to get stuck here. Great. "Go knock yourself out." he yelled after Mugoi. He smiled, and watched him depart, before turning back to his squad. "Alright, few more minutes, then back to training!" he yelled, met with a symphony of groans. He smiled, then turned to Doki before she left. "How bad was the revolt? I mean, all we heard was a prison break, but there's got to be something else. People just don't walk out of the Nest of Maggots."

As Mugoi went off Doki glanced over at Zane, her fellow Lieutenant. It was interesting that the two of them were Lieutenants now. They'd spent so long as seated officers and now they held positions as Lieutenants under their comrades. She wouldn't have it any other way. "We don't really know much about it, Zane. I'll send a report to you when things calm down. See you around!" She waved to him with a smile then turned to head after Mugoi.

"Alright, see ya. Be careful, and look after Mugoi. Knowing him, he might get too worked up in the fight and forget to do his paperwork. He makes a good Captain, he does training well, but keeping to a schedule and handing things in on time..." he said with a smile, waving her off. He watched her depart for a few more seconds, then turned back to the resting troops. "Alright, just because Mugoi-sama isn't here, doesn't mean you'll get off that easily! We'll begin with warm up laps around here, then back to combat training!" he yelled, met with a symphony of groans as they struggled back to their feet.
