Kenpachi had arrived back at the Twelvth Squad from Hueco Mundo, but had quickly made his way back to his division. He slid to a stop at his office to try and find Ikkaku or Yumichika, but neither of them were anywhere nearby. Of course! They were probably already in battle! "Ooh... why do I always miss the good fights!?" Kenpachi shouted, the lower seated members of his squad scurrying about in fear. For all they knew he'd suddenly challenge one of them just to get out some of his frustration, but that would not be the case. He turned toward the Second Division and began to focus. His ability to sense Reiatsu still wasn't great. He could hardly tell who was who, but he would generally be able to tell if there was a fight somewhere. Much to his dismay he didn't sense such a thing. He could sense what he thought was the Second Division Captain, but that guy was always training, so that didn't necessarily mean anything. With a frustrated sigh he decided to check it out personally, and took off in that direction.

Kenpachi had been running around quite a bit looking for a fight, but nothing had been found and suddenly a Hell Butterfly gave him his new orders. It would seem that he missed his fight, but another might be on the way. "Damn..." He said aloud. He was pissed. The attack was over and there was no telling when another would come. It was a "stand and wait" order, and Kenpachi hated waiting.

Kango found himself standing on the rooftop of one of the Eleventh Division's buildings, and he immediately was able to sense the awesome presence of Kenpachi. His eyes widened. Who knew he'd be placed up against someone so strong!? He didn't care about surprise. He thought about how he would go about doing this and decided that the best way to start a fight with someone this strong was to pretend to be weak but persist that they must fight. And so Kango appeared before the mighty Zaraki in shunpo, with his sword resting on his shoulder already unsheathed but still sealed. "Konbanwa, Kenpachi-taichou..." He said with a smug little smirk. "Word on the street says that you're looking for a fight. I'm just a former Fourth Division member, but I'd love to try myself against the Strongest in Seireitei. What do ya say?" Kango smiled and held his sword out in front of his torso in a typical kendo stance, ready to strike or defend.

"Fourth Division, huh? You've gotta be kidding me? What the ******** is a pansy like you doing challenging me to a fight?" Kenpachi asked with a rather annoyed tone of voice. "Whatever. If you want to die I'll happily direct you to someone who is in to that sort of thing. But first, you have to have at least some balls to show up here talking like that. I'll give you one chance to cut me. Go one, free shot. Right to the chest. Do it." He quickly opened his shihakusho with a grin, exposing his perfectly ripped chest and abs.

Kango grinned. This guy was as arrogant as the last Kenpachi. "Let me try twice... I wanna see if I can do it without my Shikai. Cool?" Kango replied, eager to really pull this off. He dashed forward and aimed a slice straight for Kenpachi's pectoral muscles. He made sure not to put any power into this attack, and sure enough his strike bounced straight off of Kenpachi's chest. His hands even split open due to the difference in power, the pain was unreal. Not only did the tearing of the webbing between his forefinger and thumb on both hands hurt, but just gripping his sword hurt, sending tiny waves of bloody pain up his arms as he grinned happily. "I'm telling you, please, let me try again. Forsake me, Chinseizai." His grin held form as his sword's wrap turned blood red and the blade turned a pure white. He'd wait for Kenpachi to allow him a second strike before moving again.

Kenpachi almost cracked up. How hillarious! The last time something like this happened it was his first fight with Ichigo. Who knows, maybe this guy would end up to be another Ichigo? No, he was covered in scars, he had to be a weakling. Either that or that sick grin on his face meant he enjoyed the pain. Make no mistake, Kenpachi didn't enjoy pain, he just didn't mind it. It was part of battle, and in that sense he liked it, but otherwise didn't matter whether he actually felt the pain as long as he was having fun. "Fine, pansy, I'll give you one more shot to prove that you're worth my time." Again he stood there, unmoving, but then he decided to add something. "However, if you fail to cut me this time I will counterattack right away and you will regret not being able to stop me."

Kango practically jumped in excitement as Kenpachi allowed him to try and cut him again. Oh how his trick had worked. He dashed in, and moved to slice through Kenpachi's chest, but at the last second he stopped his sword, brought it up, and sliced through the shoulder of Kenpachi's right arm. While a normal sword would have cut off the Captain's arm (given enough power, that is) Kango's sword passed straight through without any drag. Kenpachi's arm would suddenly go limp and let go of his uniform. To add insult to numbness and dead nerve axons Kango lifted his foot and kicked off of Kenpachi's chest to put some distance between them. "Sorry... I should have warned you. My sword is a little different. Let's see how long it takes for you to be able to use that arm again, shall we?" It was probably a mistake, but Kango chose not to cut through Kenpachi's trunk in order to make the fight last a bit longer. It wouldn't be fair to score a free hit that would end the fight, would it? Plus, Kango wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it if he had. No, this would be much more interesting. To show that he was more than just a guy who uses cheap tricks, Kango decided to unleash a large portion of his reiatsu output, revealing that he was indeed at Captain level. And there he waited...

The Eleventh Captain's expression hadn't changed after Kango's attack. He didn't even feel the strike that time, who was this guy? What a ********' puss-bag! But then he realized something. Not only did he not feel Kango's attack, but he couldn't feel anything from his shoulder down. In the second it took for him to look down at his limp and dangling arm he honestly wondered if it had been severed and he didn't even realize it, but then his eyes widened when he realized that it was still attached and uncontrollable. "What... what did you do to my arm? You b*****d!" Kenpachi reached for his sword with his left hand, and, after a bit of struggling, managed to unsheathe the blade. It felt so awkward holding the sword in only his left hand. It was then that he realized that the b*****d had tricked him! It was all a ruse from the start! How glorious! This would be a dangerous fight, one that Kenpachi wasn't prepared for. He was so used to letting people cut him because he knew he could go on even with some severe injuries, but if this guy cut him he'd lose the ability to use that particular part! Adrenaline pumped firmly through Kenpachi's veins as he felt Kango's reiatsu build up. So he was actually strong. This only elated Kenpachi further. "Come on then, let's enjoy this fight. I thought you were a pansy, but you'll be the most interesting fight I've had in 50 years! Ha!" In a burst of natural speed Kenpachi was on Kangohei in a second and slashed horizontally, aiming for Kango's gut in one fell swipe.

Kango laughed audibly for Kenpachi to hear as he was called a b*****d. It was actually quite funny. Kenpachi didn't realize that he was actually being nice by only taking his arm. He would have to cut into the man's spine to drive that point home, but that would come in time. Then, suddenly, Kenpachi made his attack. He was surprisingly fast considering that he hadn't used shunpo to move. How interesting! Kango only knew of one person who was naturally fast without shunpo. It was Nagaharu Kuchiki, but from what Kango could feel Nagaharu was nowhere nearby. He'd have to learn about that later. In one swift movement Kango lowered his blade to block the attack for his stomach, but was caught entirely offguard by Kenpachi's pure unadulterated strength and his block was easily pushed aside and Kenpachi's blade sliced across the length of Kango's stomach. The wound was deep and probably even managed to slice some organs, but hadn't hit any bones, so he was at least still standing. In an attempt to at least score a hit Kango tried to stab for Kenpachi's active shoulder. He would not be able to slice the arm from here, but he would at least be able to slow Kenpachi's sword arm speed if the attack connected. He shunpo'd back and clutched his gut. The pain seared through his core. Even the wound he'd received on his back wasn't this painful. This was pure agony, and he was loving every moment of it. As his blood poured out onto his hand Kango pumped a small bit of healing energy into his stomach to at least stop the bleeding, but that would be all he had time for, and it wouldn't work all the way. His blood would still trickle out, especially if he moved too much in a certain way. With his other hand he raised his fingers up and smirked, deciding to try something else. "Hadou number 63, Soren Soukatsui." Two blue balls of flames shot forth and sped at Kenpachi with great speed and accuracy. Kango knew that this wouldn't do much, but it would at least buy him some time...

Kenpachi felt his blade dig into Kango's flesh, and he immediately went for another strike, parrying the stab for his shoulder as he did so, but Kango had already moved back to avoid it. "C'mon, if you keep running away we won't be able to actually fight!" He shouted, but when he was done two blue flames came crashing down on him. He braced himself for the flames, raising his reiatsu to raise his natural defense, and the flames struck with great force sending him skidding back on his feet. His clothes started on fire, but that fire was instantly put out when his eyepatch was incinerated and suddenly his reiatsu was pouring out uncontrollably. His massive reiatsu would be felt all over Seireitei, but his voice would only be heard here. "Now you've gone and done it... I won't be able to hold back now! Come on. Cut my leg or something to even the odds." He quite literally stuck his left leg out for Kango to cut. He hated not having a handicap, and Kango had yet to show that he was worth removing his eyepatch...

Kango couldn't help but tremble at the feeling of Kenpachi's unleashed reiatsu. It was so damn exciting! However his excitement was cut short when Kenpachi told him to cut his leg. What the hell was this? The guy was so damn strong and he wanted a handicap? Weird. "I've got a better idea. Hadou number 62, One Hundred Steps Fence!" Kango began tossing rails of light at Kenpachi in rapid succession, hoping to puncture his body with them or to simply surround him in them so that he could deal a better blow with his sword.

"Are you kidding? Now that's just insulting." Kenpachi said with a measurable amount of disgust in his voice as he heard Kango cast his Bakudou spell. The rods came flying at him and he didn't even bother to move. He stood there and as they came at him they simply crumbled upon impact with his reiatsu hardened body. Some of them landed around him, actually preventing him from moving, but they would never pierce his skin to pin him to anything like they were meant to do. Kenpachi hated Kidou, especially binding spells. He couldn't use it for s**t and he hated it when others tried to use it on him. The good news was that he understood it enough to know which spells to be concerned about. This wasn't one of them. Once Kango was finished Kenpachi brought his blade up and simply cut a path through the forest of light rails in one fell swoop and stepped forward. "You can at least make this interesting by using a Hadou spell or something. Anything to make this at least a little more dangerous." He suddenly vanished at the end of his sentence and appeared to Kango's left to slash down, aiming to cut the length of Kango's left arm. "Otherwise I'll just have to cut you down and go after someone else!"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 19, 2009 9:56 pm

Kango's pace actually slowed gradually until he stopped before all one hundred rails had been thrown when he noticed that they weren't doing what they were supposed to do. Who was this guy? He was like some kind of tank! "You want hadou? Okay... I think I can oblige. How about this one?" Before he could start to cast his spell Kenpachi had appeared to his left and attacked him. The sword cut deep down his left arm and actually managed to split his arm in half starting just above the elbow and traveling down between the radius and the ulna until it split his hand, exiting between his middle and ring fingers. Now this was true pain. The slice to his back hurt. The slice to his stomach was much worse, but this... This was something far different. He shunpo'd away to avoid further damage, and when he raised his left arm he looked at it spread apart to either side and he actually started laughing. His thoughts couldn't possibly bring words to describe how amazingly painful this was. He kept as much attention on Kenpachi as he could to avoid anymore assaults, and would shunpo away if any came, but right now he needed to revel in this pain. After a while he realized that he couldn't just keep his arm like this. Snapping back to focus he grinned and held his sword out and said, "Bankai." With the spoken word his characteristic white dust begant to filter out into the air and as soon as it did his wounded arm, stomach, and back all healed themselves almost instantly. His arm would take a bit longer to heal, but right now it wouldn't flail around like a couple of socks nailed to a pole in the wind. He dashed forward, his dust cloud following him, and slashed for Kenpachi's chest. This was just a ruse, he needed to distract the man so that he could summon the kidou he wanted to use before...

Kenpachi grinned as the blood from Kango's arm splattered his face, but he was thrown off guard by the man's laughter. This was nothing he'd ever experienced before. Instead of crying out in pain this guy was laughing? It didn't matter. Kenpachi dashed forward and tried to cut him again, but the man was too fast, and before he knew it a single word was spoken and a white dust began to fly off of Kango's sword. Bankai. This was it... Kenpachi always looked forward to fighting someone's Bankai. It made his blood boil! "That's what I'm talking about!" He shouted when kango came at him and cut into his chest. His pectoral muscles suddenly loosened up due to the effect of Kango's sword, but he could still move his arm, but slowly. This would change things. His strength would decrease with this slowed effect. Perfect. It was like having another eye patch but instead his reiatsu was still at full output. He chopped down hard on Kango's sword to force it to go down after leaving his body, then he moved to slash down Kango's shoulder. His strike landed and cut deep, but as soon as he removed his blade it started to seal up! "What the hell is that?" He asked before looking to the arm he'd just split. It was whole again! This was ridiculous! Two nasty wounds and they were already healing. He'd have to deal some serious, and permenant, damage if he wanted to win this fight.
