Opening the door into her office Mastumoto Rangiku looked around the bleak and depressing room. This office that she had spent so many years in was now the last place that she ever wanted to go. Hitsugaya was gone, left her behind, something that he had promised he would never do. She took a few steps inside, her sandals crunching slightly with the pressure between her feet and the floor before stopping yet again. She took in a deep breath."you can do this" she whispered to herself. It was the same thing that she always had to remind herself, ever since he had disappeared from her life. The last person she had held onto with a closeness that would never again be offered by her. Clenching her fists tight by her sides she began to cross the room once more moving to her captains...ex-captains... desk. She had avoided it until now but there was papers she needed to take care of that were still laying in neat little piles across the top. Now was the time to get them done. Running her hands quickly through her hair she then pulled out the chair and plopped down behind the large desk feeling very out of place.

Moving her hand to the first pile she picked up the paper glancing through it quickly. Just because she had to take care of all of the paperwork now until she got a new captain didn't mean that she had to like it. Cringing Matsumoto began to fill out the pages,signing when needed. She had only been here for moments but to her it felt like hours. Every page she pulled before her felt like it took an eternity to complete. Her emotional state was already not all that stable and the frustration that seemed to come along with this paperwork was not helping in the least. Quickly setting down her brush she placed her arms folded on the desk. Then leaning forward she pressed her head, eyes closed,into her hand strawberry blond hair draped over everything.

Matsumoto quickly stood, the chair she had been sitting in clattering to the ground. She never took noticed of the loud bang as it fell her eyes locked on the man before her. "T-tiachou...." she studded mouth hanging slightly open. That couldn't be right. She had to be seeing things. There was no way that Hitsugaya would just waltz in here after all this time. She rarely even recognized him as she stood there in shock. Slowly moved to the side of the desk taking only a few steps closer to her captain a new emotion began to blow through her body. At first she had felt disbelieve though a rush of happiness. Now all that was left was a pain. A pain that had been growing since the moment he chose not to return to soul society. It was a feeling from within her gut that quickly grew pushing up into her heart. He had left her, he had turn his back on her without even telling her why. And now he was here? What was going on? The corners of her mouth curved down causing a deep frown to appear. "I guess you decided to come back." she said, a clear coldness to her voice. If he had expected a warm greeting he was dead wrong. Right now in here eyes he had not been any better then Gin. He had turned his back on her when she needed him and left without a word. For all this time she had lived in grief she she was not about to let him forget those feelings. In the past few years she had perhaps smiled three times, all of which when she was drunk. He was going to realize the dark cloud he had helped draw over her life.

Matsumoto allowed her arms to relax slightly as she turned around, making her able to keep her eyes on him as he moved about the office. This was not how she wanted their conversation to go but it was already heading down this path. "I'm not mad at you sir......" she began keeping this quite formal as she was not all that comfortable with him at the moment. ".... I just....well you....." she stumbled through her words before clenching her jaw tight. Why couldn't she just tell him how she felt. He was making her out to be the bad guy all of a sudden when he was the one that left. She had thought him dead, then he stayed back without even a word to message for her. He left her to run the division without him and for that she could not yet forgive him. Once more thoughts of Gin pushed through her mind as similarities between the two men she was closest to made themselves apparent. She was about to speak once more when the message was sent from the first division. "I guess we'll have to finish this later...." she said brows furrowed. "I don't know if you were able to hear the message, since you haven't been around, but we're needed it seems that there was a breakout from the maggots nest" she said with a small sigh. They would have to finish their conversation later
