Papers flew in the air as they shot from the arms of Ise Nanao. They cascaded down around her as she landed with a soft bump on the wooden floor of the eighth division's office. Looking wildly around her brilliant violet eyes landed on the source of her troubles. Now rolling away on the ground some few feet away from her was a clearly empty sake bottle. Blowing her tousled bangs out of her face she frowned. Did he ever learn? Grumbling she moved to her knees pushing off of the ground to pick up the finished reports that were now scattered about the office like snowflakes after a light snow. Once she got things in order once more she quickly picked up the culprit clenching her right hand tight around it in anger. She then stood and proceeded further into the room. Walking over to her captains, completely void of paperwork desk, she set the empty bottle on top. They would be having a discussion about that later. She did not like him drinking in the office, through there really was nothing she could do to stop him.
Giving a soft sigh Nanao then turned on her heels and walked back to where her own desk was located. Setting the finished papers on top and to the right she sat back in her chair and closed her eyes. The best way to rid yourself of frustration was to calm yourself down and that was what she would do. Taking in a few deep breaths she let them out slowly in turn. With each breath she took her body began to relax once more. She would just have to worry about her captain later. Opening her eyes once more she pulled another paper towards her. It was the unfinished budged for the eighth. Something that she didn't want to worry about because she always ran into problems but knew it had to be gone over. With a sigh she picked up her writing utensil and set to work

A quick rush of air flooded into the room as Shunsui's shunpo brought him into the office, landing behind Nanao as she worked. He clearly smelled of alcohol, and his actions would certainly prove that he'd had plenty of it. With warm hands he placed his fingers on Nanao's shoulders and he began to rub her back between the shoulder blades on either side of the spine. "Nanao-chan, you're so tense... Why don't you come out for a drink with me sometime?" He asked rather sheepishly. He knew he was in the dog house, but he wanted to make her feel better also. Now that they were officially dating he could take a few extra liberties with her, not that he hadn't tried to place his hands on her back before they were dating, it was just not until afterwards that he wouldn't receive a book to the face for doing so.

Nanao took in another deep breath letting it out slowly as her captain approached her. The stench was clear even before he had come up behind her and all this did was make her mood, if possible, worse. Setting down her brush she closed her eyes. It would do neither of them any good if she blew up at him especially if he had already been drinking, then chances were he would just find her yelling funny and continue on with his day. She carefully place her hands, palm down on the desk, before pushing her chair back, catching him in the process before standing and moving out of reach. As she turned once more to face Shunsui her frown just deepened.
"You're going to walk in here, after I trip over you empty sake bottle, drunk and ask ME to go drinking?" her eyes flashed dangerously behind the glasses perched on her nose. Closing the gap between them again she proceeded to poke him hard in the chest, who cared if he was almost a foot taller then her? Who cared if he was one of the strongest captain? Right now she was mad and he was going to know it. "I'm in here working like always and you're out getting drunk with your buddies?....." she began voice getting louder with each word. Oh he just made her so mad sometimes. He was just lucky she had left her book on the desk when standing. This was one of those times she would have loved to wallop him. Dropping her hands to her side she looked away from him. This was solving nothing. Clenching and unclenching her fists a few times trying to relieve the stress that attacked her body the moment he arrived she looked up at him again. "Let's try this again...." she said voice visibly calmer "I've asked you time and time again not to drink in the office yet I find a sake bottle laying on the ground.... now you come in here drunk and expect me to actually want to join you in your fun that makes me so mad" She shook her head turning her back to him once more not sure what else she could say that would not end up in yelling.

Oooh she was mad. Just lay down Shunsui, just lay down! Or so he wanted... But it was clear that laying down would only make things worse. A number of options ran through his head. He could blame the empty bottle on one of the lower seats and claim it wasn't his, which was a lie. He could say that he dropped it when taking out the recycling, which was also a lie. Or he could just fess up and admit he was wrong, which was the truth but it stung more than the lies. "But Nanao-chan, you know I like to drink when I do my paperwork..." he said as he looked over to his desk, which was covered in an organized chaos of loose leaf papers. "But then Ikki-san called me over for a drink and I must have forgotten to clean up my mess. I'm sorry, can you forgive me?" The Eighth Captain smiled sheepishly with closed eyes and his hands extended outward, palms facing forward as if asking for a hug.

He did not just say he liked to drink while doing his paperwork.... Nanao's hands slowly rose fingers moving to her temples as she began to rub slowly eyes closed tight as well. He was not making this any better for himself. Just when you thought he had hit bottom he went and found a shove. She bit her bottom lip trying to refrain from yelling but oh was it hard, much harder then one might expect. She slowly turned back to him eyes opening. They scanned over his frame a look of you've got to be kidding me written all over her face. Did he really thing she was just going to fall into his arms and pretend that nothing had happened? 'Well Ikkimaru-soutaichou should know better then to call you for drinks when you had been left with work to do." She said shaking her head. It was not that she disrespected the head captain or was trying to make jabs at him, actually all of the time she had spent with him she rather enjoyed his company for some odd reason, but being called by the soutaichou was no excuse for skipping out on work. Especially if you were already drunk before hand."....and I can't believe that you were drinking while doing some of those reports. You know that just means more work for me because I'm now going to have to check them over. I can't let them be filed or anything else if they look like they were written by a five year old" she added finally lashing out

"Yare yare..." Shunsui said heavily under his breath so that Nanao could barely hear him. "No no! They're good. See?" He quickly ran, or rather stumbled, to his desk and picked up a handfull of finished papers, papers that he'd done while drinking, and held them up for Nanao to see. Surprisingly they were all filled out coorectly and were quite legible. Perhaps you can teach an old dog new tricks? That would seem to be the case. The drunk Captain grinned proudly as he flipped through the pages, revealing his work. He was positive that this would make her feel better. She didn't have to go through things afterall, and it was totally win-win for him because it would prove that doing paperwork while drinking for him was actually a good thing! Or at least until he got to the last two pages... By then he'd had a few too many and those pages were a bit harder to read and had several misspellings. He glanced down at them and the shock was visible. He quickly hid them behind his back and started flipping through the good pages again, hoping that she hadn't really noticed the two out of many that he'd screwed up...

Nanao quickly snatched the papers out of his hands as her captain fumbled through them. She would see for herself weather or not they looked alright. Here was where she became quite shocked. She could actually read what he had written AND it actually made sense. Wow something really was going on here. Could he be correct in saying that he could do paperwork and drink at the same time. This just was not possible. She quickly moved through page by page eyes scanning wildly across the scrawl for something that was out of place. "Well I....." she cut off letting out a soft snort before looking back up at him. It was then that she noticed he had something behind his back. Was he trying to hide something from her? He couldn't possibly think he could achieve that." What are you hiding?" she asked slowly eyes roving up to meet his. She never waited for an answer. Quickly reaching an arm around his back she pulled those papers from his fingers and stared at them in triumph. "Ha! See..... now this is what happens when you drink and do your paperwork at the same time" sure it was only two reports out of the many....sure it would only take her a few moments to fix them.... but that was not the point. The point was that is was still extra work for her to do weather or not it took her all day it was still work

Shunsui took several steps back as she inquired him about the papers behind his back "I- It's nothing." He tired to hide it, but she quickly snatched the papers out of his hands. When she started to scold him he backed up even further. "Nanao-chan, please, I'll do it. You don't have to do it. You do enough around here." He said with a grin on his face, trying hard to calm her down. It was then that Ikkimaru's message began to ring through his mind. Nanao would hear it too, it was Bakudou number 77, and the message was a call to help quell a prison break at the Second Division. Shunsui's expression instantly became quite serious. "Do you feel that? There are some pretty strong guys fighting in that direction..." The Flower Captain brought his hands up to his eyes, pressing his palms in relatively hard and tipping his hat up as he did so. He didn't want to go. He really didn't want to fight, but these guys were going to cause a ton of trouble if he didn't go.
With a heavy sigh it was almost as if Shunsui was no longer drunk. His eyes focused on Nanao's slender form and he said, "We should go. People are going to get hurt and die if we don't."

Nanao listened to his words shaking her head. If she left the papers to him it would be another day or so before they were finished. That was not something she was going to allow. She would do the papers on her own and insure that they were done correctly. She should have just taken care of them herself to begin with. "Taichou...Don't worry about it I'll ju-" she cut off eyes narrowing. Great even more problems to deal with. The message seemed to ring in her ears. What was going on? Looking back to Shunsui it was obvious that he had heard it too. It was then that she felt it as well. She had been to occupied before to noticed it but now that she had heard Ikkimaru's words her attention was brought else where. "Yes....." she mumbled to his question before biting her bottom lip, the color draining from the force. Fighting was not what she wanted to do but if she was needed she would go. Turning back to her desk Nanao opened the top drawer and pulled out her small sword. Sliding it up her sleeve in a secure loop she had sewn into her uniform she let out a long sigh. "You're right .... we really should go. Are you sure your alright to fight?" she added that last part her eyes upon him once more. She was of course referring to his drinking though she was sure he was fine. Moving to the door she slid it open before glancing at him over her shoulder. "Lets get this over with"

As Shunsui moved to get away from his desk he set the remaining papers that he held onto the desk and hurried to the door. However, before they could even actually be out of the building a new Hell Butterfly wafted toward them and gave them their newest orders. They were orders to Captain and Lieutenant that they were to actively patrol their Squad's territory for the remaining four days, and to be on the look out of anyone who might be an escaped convict. This made Shunsui a bit happier. He hated fighting, and while being on patrol was not really his idea of enjoyment he would rather do that than fight. He told Nanao the new order and made it known that he was happy with this order more than the last.
Several hours passed until it was night time and that was when things started happening again. Shunsui was actuall actively walking around the division, a rare sight to behold in deed, and when the fights started to break out all over Seireitei he looked to Nanao and said, "It's starting. Obviously Zaraki is having his fun right now... so is Lencarde... and Komamura. Looks like we're lucky, but keep on the alert. They may be coming here soon too."

Wandering About Shinku Hikage: Outskirts of the Eight Division
Shinku wandered out of the seventh division, though he barely knew that he had. He was just wandering about, not quite sure where he was, and having no idea where to go. Now that the twelfth division had failed him yet again, he had no more leads on where to find his blade. That left him with rather large dilemma... What did he do now? He probably wouldn't be very useful to Nobuo. Not that it mattered to him. But Nobuo's plan went almost hand in hand with his own revenge. And without his sword, he couldn't carry that out either. He was completely useless, both to himself, and anyone else. He stopped and kicked a wall in frustration, creating a loud clunking sound as a result. He then sniffed the air, noticing something on the wind. There was a rather large reiatsu around here somewhere. It was supressed somewhat. Probably so that it wouldn't crush everyone around it. But Shinku knew it was big. He could feel it in his bones! He hopped up onto the wall he just kicked and looked into the division. He smiled a little. Shunsui Kyouraku. That was definitely the source, since he could see him in plain sight. He threw his legs over the wall and sat down on it, taking a thinking position with his elbow on his knee and his face in his right palm. The thought of fighting Kyouraku made him smile, even if he still didn't have his sword...

Wandering around their divisions compound. Not quite what she wanted to do, feeling that there were other ways for them to help out then wandering when no one was showing up. Not to mention when Shunsui was involved in the patrol there would be not much for her to do unless they were over powered. It was not that Nanao did not know how to fight, she was actually very skilled, but she much like her captain preferred to keep things peaceful and in turn did not fight all that often herself. She paused for a moment as Shunsui spoke nodding slowly at his statement. She was just glad that they fighting had not reached their own area as well. She was about to say so when she heard a thunk from somewhere up ahead. "What was that...." she muttered more to herself then anyone else. Just when she thought that they would get off without a fight she was afraid that she would be proven wrong again. Her violet eyes scanned the area and after the pair had turned a corner she saw the sources of the noise.
She quickly turn her head glancing at her captain. "So much for just walking....." Nanao was not pleased by the sight. She could tell that he was one of group to escape the prison just by a first glance. With a quick assessment she also noted the lack of a blade anywhere on his body. Perhaps things would be looking for for them. Not that she was worried. If anyone could take on a convict it was Shunsui, and she would be there to help in any way possible. For her part she usually kept back throwing out kidou when needed but she would be ready should she need to really delve into the battle. Stopping her feet she paused on the path allowing her captain to take a few steps before her. He was the one that would take command here so she would let him make the first move to their new arrival.

Shunsui was starting to enjoy the night air, even if he had to enjoy it without sake it was nice, especially because he was walking around with his Nanao-chan. As they walked he was busy looking up at the stars and the full moon that bathed the area in light, when suddenly he heard his dear Nanao say "what was that?" He followed with her, now a bit more alert, and when he saw Shinku sitting on the wall up ahead. Shunsui recognized him, but wasn't exactly sure what the young man's name was or why he was imprisoned in the Maggot's Nest, but it was certain that he was, indeed, an escaped convict. With a casual smile Shunsui patted Nanao on the shoulder once in a sort of motion for her to hang back for a bit. He stopped about three meters from Shinku's position and leaned up against a wall that ran perpendicular to the one Shinku was sitting on. "Well hello there! Please come down from there and let me offer you a drink. You must be thirsty after being in that prison for so long." He said, unaware that Shinku had actually been imprisoned for the least amount of time compared to all the other escaped convicts. Even so, no one had been admitted to the Maggot's Nest since Ikkimaru's rise to power as anyone who opposed him was either killed or let go without worry of their rebellion, so that meant that Shinku had to have been in for at least 50 years which was way too long to go without a drink of water or especially sake.

Feeling Confrontational Shinku Hikage: Eighth Division Compound
Shinku kept smiling, seeing them notice him finally. He wasn't taking any real lengths to hide himself. He got out of his thinking pose and stood up on the wall. He then jumped high into the air, advancing on them threateningly, only to land on the ground in a slight crouching position in front of him. He heard Shunsui's question about a drink, and he knew immediately what he was talking about. The elder captain's reputation preceded him. he stood up straight and looked at Kyouraku, not paying much attention to his Lieutenant, standing not far away. "You're kind of drink isn't something I'm interested in," Shinku replied flatly, "But you're power is..." He smirked confidently, crossing his arms in front of him. "Now that you've seen me... You have to fight me," Shinku said, "I don't plan on handing you any mercy. I've been itching for a real battle ever since I got out of there. So don't hold back on me." Shinku regretted that this probably wasn't the right captain to be using those kind of words on. The eleventh division's captain would be much more responsive. But wether or not Kyouraku planned to fight him seriously didn't matter. He was going to take him down anyways.
