The Commander squad and the Duelist squad. Members of the First Division are often the brightest leaders in Soul Society. They work not only in administration, but also logistics and coordination. They are genearlly the most well rounded in terms of ability making them the strongest one one one combat squad. Since Ikkimaru took over this squad also acts as the Central 46 and makes most decisions with him at the head.

"Another drink, please!" Called out the voice of the Soutaichou as he waved one of the waitresses over in the First Division's local tavern. It was a simple place, decorated with various plants and scrolls of rice paper with various works of art drawn on them. The waitress quickly brought over another bottle of sake to the table where Ikkimaru sat. He poured himself a drink then passed the bottle to Kyouraku, who was sitting to Ikkimaru's left.

"Thanks there, Ikki-san." Kyouraku said with a sly grin as he refilled his rather large saucer. It was clear that he and Ikkimaru had been drinking for some time. Ikkimaru, who actually had a higher tolerance for alcohol than Shunsui, was in much better shape than the pink-coated man. Shunsui chuckled and said, "Hey, do you remember that time when Yama-jii caught us sneaking a peak into the girl's bath house before the Academy opened? He was soooo upset, I thought he was going to burn us all!" Shunsui's voice was much louder than normal, a tell tale sign that he was quite libated. Ikkimaru laughed beside him and agreed, remembering the incident. The two elder Captains drank happily, but then Shunsui noticed a clock on the wall and his eyes widened. "Uh-oh... Nanao-chan's going to be furious with me. I'd better get going." And with that Shunsui stood up and bowed to his Soutaichou. 50 had caused their friendship to grow strong again. At first Shunsui was quite upset with the death of Yamamoto, but he knew that there was nothing that could be done to bring the man back to life and that Ikkimaru was the most qualified to lead the Protection Squads. It was true, the last 50 years had been quite increidible. The only thing Shunsui disagreed with in terms of the changes made by Ikkimaru were the regular excursions into Hueco Mundo to slaughter hollows. Shunsui was a fan of putting off fighting unless it was a last resort, so he would never dream of going out and looking for a fight. But the purpose was two fold in its reasoning. It not only helped to keep the balance, but it yielded stronger Captains. Neither of which Shunsui could really argue with... After briefly contemplating this Shunsui vanished, leaving Ikkimaru to pick up the tab.

Maedel had arrived at the First Division Tavern just in time to hear the small exchange between the familiar voices of the Captain General and Captain Kyouraku, the Fifth Captain had his goggles lowered over his eyes as he listened in. "Yare yare..." he said scratching the back of his head. He had intended to just burst in on them and crash the party in a certain way, but soon enough Kyoraku took flight out of the tavern, which caused Maedel's headband to swish lightly in the wind when he flew by in shunpo. "Well now, someone sure as hell seems to be in more of a hurry than he usually is, eh Captain General?" he called out before spinning on his heel into the doorway and then leaned against the doorway, pushing his goggles up back onto their resting place upon his headband. "And speaking Academy... what's this sendin' me a buncha ragtag rascals to my squad, pal?" it was quite funny that he was speaking to the Captain General with such normality and informality. "Not that I'm complaining, actually. They certainly seem competent and potential." he said waving a hand considerately.

"He's whipped, that's why." Ikkimaru said with a chuckle, referring to Kyouraku and Nanao's relationship. They weren't married, but they had finally decided to start dating at least and had been going steady with it for several decades now. "Have a seat." Ikkimaru commanded when Maedel leaned against the doorway. "New Captain means new squad. I gave you some of the top graduates, even if they are a little squirrely. I figured they'd be perfect for a kid like you." Ikkimaru held up his bottle in a sort of offering for Maedel. His words were a little coarse, but they meant well. He liked to razz the younger Captains. They were just so much fun!

Maedel raised an eyebrow at the Captain General's statement. "Ehhhh...?" he mused as he rolled his eyes and did as he commanded and took his seat. "Aw, come on now; a kid?" he said as he accepted the bottle and took a good sip and then pulled it back down sighing with pleasure of its strong taste. "I know I ain't been around long as Captain, but do I seriously look like a kid? Or am I just still young and handsome?" Maedel said sarcastically with a somewhat drunk chuckle and a hiccup. "And squirrely's a bit of an understatement when ya get down to their skill level when dealin' with kido, boss man." Maedel said shaking his bottle at Ikkimaru. "I mean, I know they're students and they're top of the class but... daym!" he said giving another hiccup as he put the bottle down on the table. "So, anything new happening lately? I'm rather eager to get those pups on the field and give 'em a crash course of their life!" that was Maedel Lencarde for you, always the Captain who's eager to test his subordinates unlike certain other Captains who had little to no time for their own subordinates. But one thing could be said for all his recklessness, he wasn't one to just throw them out there and let them die, he'd often save them from their deaths and cut down the enemy with relative ease.

"Damn right you do!" Ikkimaru responded when Maedel reacted to his comment about being a kid. It wasn't true, Maedel was certainly as full grown as he needed to be, but Ikkimaru loved to give him a hard time about his age. "Don't forget, it's a good teacher that makes a warrior, it's experience that makes that warrior hardened. If you want to give them a crash course then take them to Hueco Mundo, otherwise drill them hard and reward them greatly." With a happy smirk Ikkimaru drank freely from his saucer, happy and relaxed. He only hoped that Doki was doing all right with her paperwork. Unlike Shunsui Ikkimaru tried to help out as much as he could between drinking sessions and meetings.

"Hah! No need to worry about that!" Maedel said proudly, able to break through his currently somewhat intoxicated state with a proud grin, sitting up straight and holding up a thumb. "Just ya wait, I'll whip those pups up into shape, and Squad Five'll be even more badass than when that b*****d Aizen was around!" the cocky Captain said with another hiccup which would most likely utterly KILL the burning mood. "If... it was even bad-a** AT ALL that is..." he said with a sigh scratching his head. And then he took another small swig of his sake and closed his eyes for a brief moment. "I can't tell if that traitor of a traitor was trainin' them good or draggin' them down... cause my current guys aren't incompetent..." though it was indeed Maedel's goal to make Squad Five even better than when Aizen made it as such; he was determined not to go down the same path that Aizen had did... he had no intention of betraying his men and women whatsoever like he did. He would never betray their loyalty and trust. Maedel worked his butt off to earn it and he wasn't about to loose it any time soon.

"That's what I want to hear." Ikkimaru said as he finished his saucer. He was about to say something else but he was immediately interrupted by a member of the Special Forces. "Sir, there has been an escape from zone 00651... Captain Sukkiri is requesting back-up." Ikkimaru immediately stood up and motioned to the owner of the tavern that he was leaving and to put his bill on his tab. "Maedel, let's go. I need you to head over to the Squad 2 Headquarters, I need to move back to the office and get a feel for the situation. Go, now!" He wouldn't wait for a response from the slightly intoxicated Fifth Captain, he simply shunpo'd out of the tavern and appeared back in his office. "Doki, report!" He called out, hoping that his Lieutenant would be there to give him more information.

Doki had already heard of the escape and was ten steps ahead of Ikkimaru in gathering information. What was a Lieutenant for, anyway? When he finally arrived back at the office she appeared at his side in a bow then straightened her back and immediately began her report. "Sir, a number of inmates from the Maggot's Nest have escaped. Reports from the Twelvth Division read that a particular reiatsu was related to their escape. This reiatsu fueled a forbidden Kidou spell that managed to transport the prisoners from the Nest to the top of Sokyoku Hill. It was from there that they made their move. The source of the reiatsu of the man who helped their escape has vanished. Sir... It seems as though this man is of Noble birth. More information will be transmitted as soon as it is gathered." Doki paused for a moment and flipped through her papers. "One more thing... A number of the prisoners that escaped are of Captain and Lieutenant strength. One of them was arrested just before our return, and he seems to be the most unstable and possibly the most dangerous. We should send several Captains to subdue them. Captain Sukkiri is currently engaged with two of them as we speak."

Kanau hadn't looked back to see if either one of them had followed, but he was sure that he could prevent any damage from coming to the Seireitei if they had. Shunpoing around the first division, he made his way towards the headquarters. He was sure Ikkimaru was there. A warning needed to be sent, and details needed to be given. Most of the Seireitei still didn't know he was a Vizard, just a lonesome mercenary who lived in the Rukongai. Hopefully it'd stay that way for awhile. coming to the front door, he knocked as politely as he could.

Tsubaki halted her shunpo as she landed atop the wall separating 1st Squad from the rest of Seireitei. With a spit to the side, she looked down at the still retreating man with disgust. There were powerful reiatsus in there, some of them definately familiar, one in particular she knew from the war. She was eager for a fight, but she wasn't suicidal. "********." she grumbled, shunpoing away to find a better opponent that no one would steal.

"I see," Ikkimaru said as Doki finished reporting. Then a knock at the door was heard. "Enter." He said as he knew who it was already. He could feel Kanau's presence the moment it entered the First Division compound. Not waiting for Kanau to respond he stood up and pulled an ink brush from his desk and began to draw on his arm. "Bakudou number 77: Tenteikura," He said as he began to cast the binding spell that would connect his voice to all of the Captains and Lieutenants of the Gotei 14. "Attention all officers. There has been an escape from a prison facility at the Second Division. Escapees are armed and to be considered extremely dangerous. Report to the Second to quell the revolt as necessary. That is all." It wasn't very strategic of Ikkimaru to send all of the Captains to that area, but at the moment his men were dying out there and a wave of brute force would likely work for the moment. He then turned his attention to Kanau, who had likely entered by now. "Just the man I wanted to see. While I doubt that your skills will be necessary I would like to hire you to search out the strongest of those who have escaped from the Second's prison facility and exterminate them. Name your price."

Tsubaki once more stopped mid-shunpo as she felt a strong reiatsu coming her way, causing a grin to spread over her face. When Isshin arrived, she said, "Hey there, handsome. Come to keep me company?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 12, 2009 7:19 pm

Isshin appeared with a happy smile on his face as he spotted Tsubaki. "That depends. You looking for some company? I've got a nice pair of handcuffs we can use if you're into that sort of thing... Of course there are other options available, I just wanted to throw that one out there."

"Oh, kinky. But, I'm into something a little different." Tsubaki replied. She shunpo'd forward, drawing her sword in a battoujutsu maneuver as she appeared directly in front of him.
