In an open plain of grass outside the Mercenary Compound, Darius sat with his legs crossed under him, staring off into the distance. With his head fitted on his hand, his arm supporting it with the elbow against his leg, he sighted heavily as a brush of wind crept over the rolling hills towards him.
"I wonder when they'll show up." He said under his breath, picking at the grass with his free hand to fight his anxiousness.

Wielder walked through the field towards Darius. He'd seen his challenge, and was certainly interested. "Darius! How've you been, man?" He summoned the Kyuukyoku-yaiba the "Final Sword." It was a large black and red Buster Katana. The force of its swings was amplified by its nature, but it was still somewhat difficult to maneuver. Still, Wielder thought that this would be a good chance to get some practice in with it. "So, we gonna do this?"

Sitting down in the backseat felt more comfortable than the front. It was cushiony and Melody kept moving across the seat until she was directly in the middle, her knees pressed closely together. Her legs were placed on either side of this… middle compartment, lifting up slightly just to smooth down her dress once more, as it was starting to ride up. Everything on her was still wet and so the smoothing of her dress took much more effort, considering it kept wanting to stick to her legs. Right as she had finished, however, she heard Bram finally close the door behind them. And suddenly his head was in her lap! Throwing her hands up in the air, she couldn't help the intake of breath that she sucked in. Bram was just… there! His breath was warm on her thighs and she could just feel her face starting to turn red from the contact alone. Slowly, she lowered her hands again, letting her left hand rest over the arch of his stomach, gently touching the fabric of his shirt. It was also wet but she let her fingers wrap around it, bunching it in her grasp. Her right hand went to his head, carefully placing it on his head. She let her fingers start to run through his hair, closing her eyes as she tried to remember the feeling. When would she have this chance again? To have Bram fall asleep on her, to even be so close to her?
Pushing his hair out of his eyes, she visibly jumped when Craven entered the vehicle, slamming the door closed behind her. Pulling her right hand out of Craven's sight, she went to touching Bram's hair that rested on his neck, her index finger gently tracing the skin there. ”I was in love with Samhain.” Melody's head jolted up from staring down at Bram, looking into Craven's eyes as she stared at them through the mirror. Somehow, Melody had a feeling; it seemed like everyone in town that knew how they acted did. Always taking Samhain home when he got too drunk, always around him. Even Melody had heard stories from her mother, of the great Pumpkin King Jack. The old mayor wouldn't hang around Jack as much as Craven did with Samhain. But still, even after deep down inside, knowing all that, it still sent a swirl of flurries through her body hearing Craven say it out loud. Did Samhain know? Or better yet, did he feel the same way? ”I was too much of a damned coward to ever do anything about it. Now he’s gone. My best friend… He’s dead.” s**t.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, she turned away from Craven's gaze, unable to hold it any longer. She thought Samhain was dead, even… even after what she said. Maybe she wasn't clear enough. But she couldn't tell Craven now; she was too vulnerable. She saw how much of an intent Craven had to try and hurt Bram, just because she thought he was the one behind all this. If Melody told Craven now… she didn't know what would happen. She might leave them stranded out here, or maybe – No, she thought, shaking her head. Craven wouldn't hurt us, wouldn't… kill us. That would mean she's… she's…
”Buckle in, both of you.” The click of Craven's seatbelt echoed in the small vehicle. Melody looked over, seeing it hanging against the seat. She could reach it, but how was she to keep both her and Bram safe while he was like this? She knew it wouldn't stretch over the both of them, and if it did, it sure wouldn't be comfortable feeling for Bram. Before she could think any longer on the matter, or find a way to buckle the both of them in safe, Craven had started to move without a second glance back at them. Suddenly, they were moving fast, faster than they were getting here. Melody felt her head collide with the back of the seat, before Craven made a sharp turn, sending her way flying down to the right. With the both of them laying down in the backseat now, Bram had shifted so he was now lying on her chest instead of in her lap. And if Melody's face was not already red enough, seeing this once she was able to lift her head just made her face look even more like a tomato. Scooting up slightly, she let herself lean against the door frame, moving Bram's head down in the process so he was now sleeping on her stomach. The situation was… a little better. It was more comfortable the other way, but now wasn't the time. And Melody would have no idea how to explain herself if Craven looked back and saw the previous position they were in.
And suddenly, they had stopped, Craven out of the door before Melody even had time to look up. Craning her neck around, she tried to see where they were. More than likely, they had gone back into town, but what was happening?? Finally, she saw that there was a crowd looking at something. Wanting to get out and see where both Craven went and what the crowd was looking at, Melody started to move more but then remembered, Bram was sleeping on her. Looking down at him, she wondered what to do. To wait here or to go out? Pressing fingers against his forehead again, she tenderly rubbed at his temples before slowly moving his head off of her and onto the car seat. Once deciding that he would be okay and would not move, she quickly got out of the car, moving closer to the crowd. She couldn't get very far in, but it seemed everyone grew quiet so she was able to hear Craven. Craven was speaking to someone! "Let’s take her to Bram’s tower. Maybe he can find some evidence of who did this to her.” Take who? And who was Craven talking to? Melody had so many questions but she quickly went back to Craven's vehicle, only stopping for a moment to open the front door and grab her fiddle that was still lying on the floor. Moving back into the backseat, she seated herself upright first, before pulling Bram back onto her lap. Now it was just how it was supposed to be and if someone asked, she could just tell them the truth; that he fell asleep on her. But Craven said they should take this… person back to Bram's tower. Bram looks pretty knocked out; what's going to happen? She wondered if that werewolf victim was what everyone was looking at, or trying to look at. The thought alone send shivers down her spine, and so she distracted herself by tracing abstract patterns on Bram's back. Now all they could do was wait for Craven to come back. And when she did, Melody would tell her she thinks Craven should tell Samhain about her true feelings to him – given that it's only her coming back. This night seemed to be wearing on a lot longer than Melody had originally anticipated and she looked down at her fiddle that was now situated by her. She had a feeling she may be using it on someone tonight – and not just to trick them either.

Wielder smiled. This was nothing more than a friendly sparring match, after all. That was partially why he was using his weakest blade. "Alright. Rather than have that awkward moment where we silently decide who's going to attack first, I'll just start with something to get us off the ground, if you don't mind." With that, he raised his Kyuukyoku above his head and, with the aid of his foot-generated fire jets, leaped high into the air, and brought the blade down hard towards Darius.

Wielder leapt, and Darius followed him with his outstretched hand until he reached the highest point of his jump, snapping into action. He twisted his body and bent his outstretched arm back, collecting the Power of Air in his right hand. Thrusting his other arm and hand out towards Wielder, he released the concentrated gust of wind directly in Wielder's descending path, hoping to destabilize him enough to disrupt the attack, and to make a balanced landing difficult.
In the final moments before his counter struck, Darius summoned wind to form around his feet to lift him inches from the ground, dashing backwards as he charged for another attack.

Thinking as quickly as he could, Wielder turned his blade flat and continued his slash. The massive flat of the blade acted as a large fan, and dampened the impact of the gust. It wasn't quite enough, though, and the warrior was sent back a few feet. Just before he landed, he generated fire jets from his back, which stabilized his landing, keeping him from tripping all over himself. He engaged the jets again, and they gave him a significant boost moving forward towards Darius. He could tell, at least subconsciously, that he'd be using the fire jet technique a lot during this match.
He turned off the fire jets as he got close, and ran using only his feet. He got as close as he could and slashed from the right, then redirected the force from it and slashed from the left.

Nero's optics scanned the newly awakened battlefield outside the Compound. He was within sight distance, but out of range for attacks, and walked his way towards the fight to be within comfortable conversation distance.
"I'm just going to watch, if that's okay with you guys." He let them know as he fell back onto his butt, and stretched his arms back to hold up his upper body. He had no dedication to fight either of them at the time. He wanted to just chill out with the people he was comfortable with.

Taking the time while Wielder corrected himself for a proper landing, Darius gave Nero a brief smile and a slight wave of his hand, quickly returning his focus on Wielder who had just began to sprint forward with the aid of his fire jets.
Darius bent his knees once before dashing to meet Wielder head on, the wind around his feet causing him to glide almost effortlessly just above the grass. Wielder began to run without his jets, and slashed from the right, momentarily slowing his momentum to apply enough counter force to his sword to swing it out at a sprint, and then again to redirect to the left. Seeing this sign, only made because of the sword's horrendous size and weight against Wielder's own, Darius released one small charge of wind to guide him as he leapt high in the air and over Wielder's head.
The wind helped Darius pull his body horizontally, and pushed him over Wielder's head in a long arch as he performed an aerial half-roll; a means to avoid the Kyuukyoku-yaiba that could easily put him in two places at once, and to place him facing Wielder's back once he landed. The theory in Darius' head was that Wielder, in midst of an attack, would first have to recover from his strike before he could physically react to his maneuver. Now over Wielder's head, the wind helped guide Darius' body upright into a quick landing three feet from Wielder, landing with his left foot first and forward and his right second and back. The sequence of the steps and his body placement allowed Darius shift his torso back with the jump's momentum, cocking his right arm to strike with a tightly closed fist. As he snapped his body forward to strike, a green energized whirlwind burst around his forearm, and he released the Power straight at Wielder's legs.
The Power would lash out like a concentrated emerald twister across the ground, curving up to strike at Wielder's abdomen. If it struck, the Power would spike skywards and the twister's suction would carry Wielder with it, increasing in size to trap him completely. In the final moments of the spell, the Power would change shape into a howling wolf, the jaws would open and snap shut to crush whoever inside, then the Power dissipate smoothly into the air. If Wielder was caught inside the jaws of the wolf, he would experience heavy bruising on 80% of his body's muscle mass, extreme whiplash to most of his limbs and first degree wind burn across even unexposed skin. Nothing lethal, but certainly annoying.

As Darius jumped over Wielder's head, which was visually following and turning as he did, the latter already had an Idea of what the former would do. It was a basic tactic, get behind your opponent, and deliver a devastating blow from a safe location. While he had no idea what sort of strike Darius was planning, he knew he had to get defensive, and quick.
When he saw a green whirlwind coming at him along the ground, he stuck his blade right in the earth in front of it. The large flat of the blade acted as a shield. However, even Wielder was surprised when he saw the whirlwind deflected back at Darius, even if it was off by a degree or two. Regardless, he took this moment to go on the offensive once more. Gotta use every opportunity I get, cuz I might not get it again.
Once more using the flame jets, he blasted forward and, expecting Darius to dodge to his right, cut his blade up, and brought around to follow with a cut to Wielder's left.

Almost like a wild animal, K' was lying down on top of a tree branch, watching the match safely from the distance. This way, he wouldn't be accused of interfering at all.
"Don't mind me, guys. I'm just enjoying the epic event." K' said to no one in particular. He placed his arms behind his head and used them as a makeshift pillow. Although he was mildly intrigued in fighting Darius, he couldn't pass the opportunity to observe this unique fight. If time allowed it, he might join the battle. Or not. No point in worrying about that now.
((Not my best post, but I'm just trying to set K' in. So there. ._.))

[ooc=] Hmm. I don't want to pry your post too much. Wait, are you still bravo ranked? If you are, I could help you out with a few things.[/ooc]
Wielder was under the wrong impression when Darius' twister deflected from the flat of his sword. Although not planned, he barely flinched as it came back towards him, and Wielder shot forward to strike as if Darius would have to evade his own spell. However, Darius had other plans.
The emerald twister came back to him at his left, and with his eyes on Wielder, he reached out to manipulate its path to his advantage. He reached out with his left hand and cocked his right arm back at once, and the twister passed up his arm and across his shoulders, moving to his right arm as he jumped back from Wielder's slash up and struck out with it. The twister's circumference had increased in size to avoid a second deflection as it spun around its caster, and lashed out at the attacking Wielder with only a foot until impact.
Regardless to the spell's conclusion, he used his jump to dash back on his wind boots, and moved into his defensive stance.
[ooc=] K`, I'd love to have a round with you, but by profile law Darius is pretty much limited to one epic fight at a time. You could either jump in now, or you'll have chill out until he recovers his Power.[/ooc]
