Site Feedback. Ah, Site Feedback. Known as the SF forum, "SF" or just "that place where people b***h".
It is actually a lot more than that. While there is a lot of bitching going on, there is also a lot of good intention going on behind threads. Most are from people who do care about Gaia and want to offer opinions.
Unfortunately of course, there are those who are there just to b***h. But that's just life, and you shouldn't take that as the sole reason someone posts in Site Feedback.
So welcome to Site Feedback, you can post any of your SF stories, questions or other posts here in this thread.

"that place where people b***h" rofl
I stopped posting in/reading Site Feedback for a long time. I recently starting going back regularly, and it gets pretty entertaining in there. ninja

Site Feedback is the most beautiful and terrible of all of Gaia's forums... It's filled to the brim with people who love Gaia more than anything... and drowning in people who hate Gaia more than anything... sweatdrop It really is just nice to see how much people care, and it's the easiest place to see how much the developers and moderators really do see and hear the average user, so it's a great tool. (Now if only we could all learn to be more civil...)

Site Feedback reminds me of the "Letters to the Editor" section in a newspaper (I'm addicted to reading those).
You'd get the same types of responses if the LttE section was a little looser (they do censor abuse/inappropriate things more than the SF forum does). I'm reading my newspaper and see things from people "representing the people of the land" or some other generalized bs group and I think "OMG, I've seen you post in Site Feedback" xD

It's always great to feel validated smile I remember when a suggestion I made got implemented after having a developer post in my thread smile When you click the trade link, you have to click "Start Trade" inside the bank before the trade begins xD That was one of mine (I can't remember the reasoning).
Oh and I remember bringing up the fact that Gaia had no 404 Error page and getting a dev response to that.
(All well before I was modded).

Gaia is unlike any other website I've been on. I see and can talk to the same people who code and develop the hangout that I give my free time and a portion of my paycheck to, and I find it exciting, because I feel like I actually have a say in how my money is spent. Is Gaia perfect? No. Do they do everything how I'd like it? No, and thank god or we'd have crashed this ship years ago.
....I had to stop and think about the trade system, because I almost never use it anymore. xd
It's so interesting seeing developers respond to feedback. Sometimes they "n__n~~", sometimes they debate back, sometimes they scramble back behind the barricade and hope the company insurance plan covers "harpooned by angry Gaians"...

There's a cross once hung 'round a soldier's neck."Harpooned by angry Gaians". rofl
It is so awesome when the devs post. xd
My favorite thread in there right now is the "Thank you, Mods, Admins, Devs, and _____" thread. The last bit has changed a few times. It's nice seeing people be NICE in SF. There's a man's faith died on Serenity's floor.

Another awesome aspect of the Site Feedback forum: Dev survey threads. Here's the latest, offered by wesden: How Does Gaia Retain its Members? She uses her sense of humor in the poll options; I think I'm going to have to vote for the delicious cat treats. xp

Personally, I enjoy the moments when Developers/Artists/Admins ninja in to a thread, make a witty reply, then ninja out. It leaves a lot of laughter to be had.
The forum itself is so diverse and it's so fun to be there every day. I love being able to tell Gaia what's exactly on my mind, and to discuss with other people what's on their mind. Site Feedback is like one large debate team where you can fling the poo at one another in a semi-educated way.
...
I believe my analogy was on the spur of the moment and otherwise made no typical sense at all. I think I had to much of Cashmere Cactus on my mind and the awesome thread he and a few more developers ninja'd.
.... Remember, Developers never passed the third grade. That's why we have so many spelling errors on Gaia. It's SRS BUSINESS. SRS!

I love SF, but sometimes some of the people annoy me. I've had to block a few people who constantly post just because they way they act and they way they word. There's a thin line between feedback and just being rude. I LOVE it when Dev's pop in. There was one thread I loved SO much because there were like five of them in there just goofing around and making fun of each other. It was awesome. Quite a bit of people do go in with great ideas and good intentions though heart I really just wish SOME people, some regulars and newer posters, would word things to make it not so like a demand.

I believe the thread we're referencing is the same one. It was full of wedgies and jabs at one another. I love that thread. I have a link saved somewhere to it.
What I'd like to see in SF is some of the Regulars really start to realize, that at times, they can make problems worse. A few of them break the rules by posting in misplaced threads and bumping it up. Some of them post things like, "Chatterbox that way", etc.
That borders on the "Ticks my buttons" phase of things.

I love SF. My home forum. I learned to love Gaia the most there because it was the first time I got to see personally how much the staff of Gaia care. Never before (and never yet) have I ever seen staff of a large website make an effort to come out and interact with its users. And I love that they often listen to a lot of the feedback.
The users....well you win some, you lose some. That's the way it goes. But overall I enjoy my time there 3nodding
