A highly under-appreciated, but extremely helpful forum on Gaia. Tell me guildies, do you use the Test forum? If you do, what's your flavour? A single thread for all of your needs, or a different thread for every different topic.

For those of you who do not know what the Test forum is, it's a place to go where you can test your post formats, thread outlays, and pretty much anything else you need (That fits within their rules and guidelines). It's quite a helpful, dandy feature.

I myself use it primarily for organizing thread outlays or for posting my profile formats in roleplays. It would be difficult to test them out otherwise without it. O_O

I used to set up threads in the test forum, until some wankers decided it'd be fun to disrupt mine because I was a mod.

It's a neat forum, I wish people would use it more. It's a place I think users should be allowed to move their own threads out of.

I also think users should be able to move their own test threads out of the test thread forum and in to where they'd like to put it. It saves moderators having to move it for you (Or, in my case, once I like how it is in the test forum, I'll create a thread in the correct forum and copy everything over, then eventually recycle the test thread.)

I haven't had anyone try to disrupt my test thread... yet. >.>;

I currently have two "long-running" threads in the Test Forum.

The oldest is a guide I am making. It explains how to be awesome on Gaia and not suck. Optional click. I started nearly a year ago; guides take far longer to write and perfect than I had imagined. sweatdrop

After having my signature disabled and being fined a bunch of times even though I had checked it each time and it wasn't over the limit when I checked (What kind of horrible magic was that, then? confused ), I created a sig image tester thread for myself.

It totally would save time, and the potential for abuse would be nill really. You can't move a thread to a forum you don't have write access to anyway, so it's not like people could move to announcements or something.

Sig removals? UR R BAAAAHD PERZUN! scream

As you said, Leo, there'd be no way TO abuse it. Sure you could move your thread to the wrong forum... and I don't want to sound facetious here, but most people who take the time to make a test thread aren't going to move their thread in to the wrong forum. People who use the Test Forum (correctly), seem to have a pretty good head on their shoulders and know what goes where.

A guide? Ooh. I'm gonna have to go and browse it now. Eventually, when I get good enough at pixeling I'll recycle one of the tests threads to set up a pixel shop. But that's a long... long... long ways out.

I've used it a few times when I was setting up a charity and for when I was organizing a thread for the SF.

RP you say? You have perked up SANJL's interest. As you may, or may not be able to tell from my post history/link in my signature... I'm an RP-oriented person. I run one roleplay of my own and I'm involved in another 'sister' RP to it.

And some 1 x 1's. But those are few and far in between. Test Forum is a Godsend for setting up my profile codes or post formats.

Haha, and that's awesome. heart It's been a LONG time since i've made a RP, sadly. >o< I generally don't do 1x1's though, sadly. I've never had one last very long.

It is. I love the TF. <3

So awesome! I really dislike seeing people post 'reserved' in threads set up in SF. Do it correctly, folks; use Test. Way to go, Krieg ohne Hass~! User Image

Personally I've never actually used the Test forum, I have no idea how to make a post style o-o, so I just write in blue or whatever. When I RP [which is daily on Gaia XD], I just change colours to represent different characters. For example in a long RP I've been in since like forever, I have several [hundred] characters which are all represented by different colours. I have Fenair who is rep'd by grey, Slate who is dark blue, Skartplug is dark red, Concussion is orange, Firestorm is red.... I think you get where I'm going with this XD

Basically, I don't use the test forum because I have no reason to. I have no idea how to make a personal box for RP people and when I post a suggestion in Site Feedback or somewhere, if it's going to be long I write it out in Notepad first, or on rare occasions when it's actually wanting to work, I write and spell check it in Word.
