The Station

Our home.
It has nearly everything we need and some stuff we dont.

The station is about half the size of the moon and located on the opposite side of it from earth. it is roughly spherical (think the death star, only not evil) We remain undetected by humans- at least, those not in GUILE- because of an ingenious cloaking device that masks even our gravity. It has 'windows'- areas of wall that have the ability to project what appears outside of them inside, as if they were an ordinary glass window, but without weakening our walls to things like combat and enemy fire. These give the impression of open space to a closed, confined area that would give anyone claustrophobia.
In certain areas, such as the observatory area, it is actually very thick, special glass, but that is the only place where this is present, and it is easily defended anyway.

We have some amenities on the station, anything we need. For now. Though we hope to increase our population, improve our zero-gravity farming technology, and domesticate some of our fellow pokemon, these goals will put a strain on our station.

So we hope that our first home will not be our only home, but one of many. We are but starting our nation.

Gravity, that is, down, is towards the Station Core area, and is earth gravity, and the station day/night cycle roughly matches Earths, but Aeterreons generally sleep and wake according to our own schedules.

The Greenhouse
is a large room with a curved ceiling high enough to have actual weather. The ceiling has bright sun-like lights that cast tolerable light onto the plants and pokemon below. Green and blue and red leaves shimmer like a jeweled mosaic that moves constantly with the breeze that blows from the fans arranged along the walls.
This is the Food-production area, where berries are grown in long rows of plants- up to three species of berry in each row.
Hopefully domesticated pokemon will also roam around here, though we do not yet have any.
Caretakers do some of the work here, but Merchants who want to sell the fruit usually claim some of the plants (and hopefully domesticated pokemon) by caring for them as well. Then they turn around and sell them to Aeterreons and any other pokemon who wants 'em. Very lucrative.
There are other greenhouses in the orbital areas and most of the hobby gardening ends up there.

Just to note, not all domesticated pokemon will be killed and used as food. Some of the pokemon under research wont need to be killed.
Heres a list of what we're researching:

Castform- for weather control, essential to good farming. Plus, they are cute and make very good pets anyway

Tropius- Delicious fruit and a gentle personality. Plus, it makes a good planetside mount should we need one

???- We think there may be a special Poultry pokemon used on Earth, but there's surprisingly little data on it...
But it's a source of meat and Aeterreons need meat (Unless they are vegetarian, in which case there are supplements)

Combee- Honey and pollenation. Why not improve the crops and satisfy the sweet tooth at the same time?

The Field is a room with a carpet of lush, vibrant green grass. its so tall that it has its own weather, and so huge that the curve of the Station's globular form can be perceived. It has plenty of space for running, a good amount of natural light with a day simulated by a bright light and the projector walls, which occupy the ceiling and the curving wall of the station. The ceiling mimics a blue Earth sky which can be made to display realistic weather patterns in natural light. The other wall, however, displays a view of the Outer Space outside the Field area of the station.
Rocks of many sorts dot the area, some massive boulders, some "bubble rocks" like those that glaciers drop, some stepping stones, some great clawlike formations that seem to challenge the false sky. Ponds, too, are scattered here, and a "river" of fresh water, maintained by the Caretekers, feeds the ponds and prevents stagnation.
Trees and shrubs are also here, great Oak trees, Leppa trees, Cypress, Elm... all provide shade and beauty. There are even Flowering trees, whose scent graces the Field and marks Springtime on Earth.

It is here that the breeders run, play, battle, and raise young under the watchful care of the Caretakers. This is there domain, and causing trouble here after a late night drinking Shuckle-berry wine is NOT reccommended.

Connected to the Field is the Tube Run, where the young soon-to-be Aeterreons are kept in stasis and slowly evolve.
It is a room softly lit by blue-green light. This and the soft sounds of bubbles coming from the tubes gives the place an underwater feel. Caretakers patrol around, chatting to each other and noting the progress of the youngsters in the tubes. The computer servers housed in this area hum and murmur softly. On one end of the room there is a wall of wide monitors that allow the Caretakers to interact with their charges through the network.
The computer servers here links the minds of these youngsters to the other computers and servers, where they mentally learn, play multiplayer games, and generally prepare themselves for life outside the tubes.
It is during this time that they are tested for aptitude and introduced to job skills, which they learn in simulation and will refine later as Adolescent apprentices.
Through the computers, they can talk to adults and make their own programs and blueprints and... well, anything they can. This freedom to do things while the body is in stasis and growing is based on the premise that the kids might have some good ideas and that it is a good idea to encourage it. However, this does lead to some awful and aggravating stuff being made with obscene concepts and names and such, but fortunately that stuff gets screened out. Kids may have great ideas, but they will be kids.

The Caretaker HQ and the Kennels are connected to the opposite end of the field.
The Kennels are a series of cages left over from human occupation. Although they retain some of their intimidating appearance and starkness, attempts have been made to spruce them up with orchids and plants and vines and such.
Ultimately though, they are cages lines in rows with three walls and a gate, which have been removed from most of them, and their intent is to have a guaranteed sleeping space and a place to recover from medical procedures and to care for eggs.
however, despite the Caretaker's best efforts, most of the breeders prefer to sleep in the field or right outside the kennels, unless they are too sick to move much.
Because of the prevalence of empty cages, some caretakers have taken to sleeping in them themselves, to be closer to the Caretaker Headquarters.

The Old Human Zone is the area of the station least changed from the days of the human occupation.
It houses the Dorms, the old quarters of the Humans who lived here. Nowadays, They're used as guaranteed, comfortable places to sleep- since the hallways are sometimes crowded or uncomfortable, As washing facilities, and as lounges for resting, drinking, and chatting. Some even use them as warehouses and storage facilities, or even shopfronts. Although they are kept clean and are sometimes renovated, they tend to remain as they were when the humans still lived there, before the revolt.

The Computer area is the series of rooms that house a large amount of the computers on the station, as well as the Main computer that helps them all connect to each other. Most computer-literate aeterreons end up visiting this area, and it is one of the few areas that allows access to the servers of the tube room.

The Lab area carries on the scientific tradition of the station.
All the labs are well equipped, clean, and full of amazing and not-so-amazing experiments. They look like any human lab, even the newer rooms, though some electronics are especially designed to be powered by Aeterreons.

Miscellaneous rooms are... rooms.
They have many uses.
It could be a merchant hangout, a bar, a breeder training class, anything.
This can be a basic setting for roleplay, or something with an unspecific setting but on the station.

The Hangar is where all the spacecraft and drones are kept, produced, and maintained.
The crafts are mainly powered by the Aeterreon pilot, and are easily produced.
transport and cargo crafts are also developed here.
The hangar is full of metal and machines, mainly soldiers gather here, but others can be seen as well, buying and preparing ships for launch.

The Temple Area is a region of the station that is the oddest area around. It used to be a motley series of residential, miscellanious, laboratory, recreation, and eating areas during the time of the humans and for the first year or so of Aeterreon Freedom.
But when the Shinigami and the Priest classes first started to appear among the ranks of Aeterreons of early adult, adolescent, or podling age, their first goal was to completely remodel the area of the station.
It is now a district dedicated to religion, filled with colorful artwork and banners in contrasting green, for the Priests, and purple, for the Shinigamis. It is the part of the station that looks the most like a terrestrial city, albiet with a ceiling.
Though its not as big or as urban-esque as the BIG Zone, and it is far rarer to see non-eon pokemon around here, unless they are service pokemon like castform or such.
Housing is usually dedicated to Priests, Shinigami, Their apprentices, and certain patients, clients, and merchants.
Fighting between rather unenlightened Shinigami, Priests, and followers used to occur frequently in the colorful streets of this district, mainly in the early years of their appearance.
However, Shoi put some laws in place and had a few soldiers patrol.
The higher up members of the temples then realized that it would be a far better idea to keep peace.
In recent times, only apprentices and very new initiates dare to fight in the streets, and are usually curbed by their superiors.
Competition seems to now be in getting followers and preaching the loudest about their respective phases of existence.

What is odd about the temple district is that, though it only has a few decades under its belt, everything there has an older feel to it. The whole culture of the district feels centuries older than it actually is.
The Philosopher's theory is that it has something to do with the fact that the religion is based on two forces of existence, but nothing he says makes any real sense...

The Temple of the All is a narrow pyramid building of gleaming soft gold sandstone surrounded by a verdant courtyard with trees and shrubs and an exterior white square building surrounding them both. The Chapel area, with its portal to the City in the All, is located in the pyramid. The inside contains light fixtures set into the walls that are made to resemble veins. Soft green light pulses gently from the bottom to the top of these light fixtures, creating an almost heartlike ambiance.
The exterior building is used as a hospital and apprentice training area. Shinigami rarely end up here and would rather go to the caretaker and get treated with meds and bandages. But some Shinigami will grudgingly admit that they need more than what a caretaker can provide and will slink in for the healing services of the priest.

The Temple of the Void looks imposing from the outside- spires, spikes, the things you would expect. Scary, badass, you know. Its made up of several spires arching towards a large, narrow black center spire whose tip, almost touching the ceiling, softly glows with a purplish light. There is an exterior building surrounding a narrow courtyard, mostly filled with statues (All fairly new), that surrounds a domed building that the spire rises from. This is the void chapel.
Within the buildings, its actually strangely soothing. The walls are built such that they absorb sound like snow, making it very quiet. Many intellectuals and students come to the outer building to study. Inside the chapel is an inlay of dark stone unnmatched by any earthly stone that resembles a compass rose. In the center, the spire's base is the portal to the void, comprised of a crystal that seems to shimmer with absorbed light.

Some say Politics is all about airing your dirty laundry in public.
Well, Shoi took that literally.

The Laundry Room is a room full of your typical washers and dryers, usually used by those who want to wash blankets or sheets or carpets or their accessories.
Somehow, its always in use, rumbling away warmly.

A small door leads to a well-lit but windowless room (unless you count the computer simulation that pretends to be a window) with a desk.
This is Shoi's office, where civilization is formed even as we speak.
She claims that the placement near the laundry room is for security reasons- background noise and whatnot- or that it helps her concentrate.
Really though, she just likes the sound, and its always warm and cozy.

People who want to talk to her often are waiting in the laundry room, and they can get into... arguments.
other people also use the Laundry room for laundry. Its a very odd multi-purpose room.

The BIG zone or The City is a large area that makes up much of the station. Most of the population, such as it is, lives here.
Restaurants, shops, everything is here. This is where you're likely to see other pokemon about, doing... whatever they're doing.

Its HUGE. Anything can happen here, and sometimes it does. Battling is not uncommon.

The Courthouse area is here, where disputes are settled by ambassadors and other Aeterreons and Breeders who like being judicial so that Shoi can take care of the big things. This is where Laws are first formed, before they are finalized and implemented.

That said, Aeterreons, being Chaotic in general, tend to turn a stately trial into a nice brawl, with the winner winning the dispute.
Or just sometimes to break things up.
Its not unusual to see a good scuffle anywhere in the BIG Zone, and its almost encouraged. The Soldiers on patrol tend to discourage overly enthusiastic or dangerous fights though. Fights to the Death are illegal as are fights that get people involved who don't want to be.
So no Explosions in the middle of the City, Please!

The Core Region is the bowels of the station. Its full of things like ducts and pipes and the main power core, life support control, and . Occasionally Aeterreons go down here for maintainence work, but for the most part its not used, since it can all be regulated and fixed without much actual physical intervention. And besides, theres enough redundancy in those important systems that its not such a big problem if there is a problem in the core.
Its dark and wet down here, but its livable.
There are some... unpleasant rumors, and it is rare that even a trained maintainence party goes down here.
Even the Asaguereons and Namaeons tend to stay in the more lively parts of the station. Typically, only ghosts visit regularly.

It has been determined to have become a Mystery Dungeon through some strange power, and to change layout regularly, while somehow preventing system failures.
There appear to be some pest infestations- ratattas, zubats, parasect.... the usual.
But as recently as the storm there have been rumors of something ELSE down there...

*THIS REGION IS A MYSTERY DUNGEON. EXPEDITIONS WILL GO HERE.*

The Observatory is a room at the pole of the station that is basically a domed window.
It allows a consistent view of the vastness of outer space that many like to relax with.
Refreshments are served here, and it is one of the best places to hold quiet parties.
Raucous parties tend to be held in the MISC rooms or the BIG zone.

The Orbital Areas are little orbital condo-things used for storeage, dorms, prisons, hangars, phase-points, offices, quarentine, labs, private gardens, hotels for visiting aliens... Stuff.
They orbit in a fixed pattern around the station and have transportation in the form of small shuttle vessels run by trained pilots of the Soldier class or sometimes by merchants with pilot training. (not that it matters, the shuttles are made to be very intuitive to use for an aeterreon).
The orbital areas tend to make an outer ring to the station.

There is an infamous orbital, made from a disabled shuttle ship.
Its called Sorrow351. It, theoretically contains the remains of the maddened fast-grown aeterreons that were a result of and caused the tragedy. Its a generally avoided area, though ghosts tend to be attracted to it.
Asaguereons and Namaeons dislike it for differing reasons and to different extents.
Shrapnel and ice coat it and float around it in a cloud, but it seems otherwise to be sealed.
Life support is at the very most compromised inside because of Shoi's efforts to turn it off. Engine power is cut, as is heat, and it is very cold inside.
Shoi is thinking about opening it up to exploration to recover the bodies and learn what we can... but she isn't ready to open that tragedy yet.

*SORROW351 IS AN EXPEDITION AREA!*

Comprehensive HQ listing!

Caretaker HQ

The caretaker HQ is a grey, square building in the kennel area where the Caretakers go to have a little privacy as they discuss plans for specific eevees and gossip about Breeder pairings (And other Aeterreons).
It is a warm-colored, cozy place with running water and comfortable cushions and seats perfect for relaxing after a long day of caring for the next generation.
Priests are often found here, lending their services to the injured breeders that went too far in a battle or in a stunt and to the sick.
It is here that the facilities for artificial insemination and same-sex pair breeding are located as well as the medical facilities for much of the station.

Merchant HQ
The merchant HQ is located in a miscellanious room right next to the laundry room. On its walls are papered the prices- in moonstones (not Moon Stones!) for various items. These are constantly changing.
On the other wall is a lovely tapestry with rich patterning.
these walls flank a desk where an Aeterreon sits, happy to gossip about the latest prices, political gossip, offer you a deal on a new shipment, and let you into the room in back, where the politics discussions between the politics-minded merchants, ambassadors and others are held.
There is a big printer used SPECIFICALLY to print paper for forms to hand over to Shoi.
Its generally known that they do it just to be a pain, since they could easily use computers. But some genuinely like using paper- its more permanent and binding, they say.
But mostly its a prank.
In general, the Merchant HQ has a irreverant feel with a hard, predatory interior- the merchants will joke with you and be friendly, but they will always be looking towards your purse...

Ambassador HQ:
The ambassadors have buildings in the BIG ZONE, the Laundry area, and the Temple district, but their HQ is actually somewhat hidden. Its in a nondescript miscellanious room near the observatory, and its walls consist of screens showing the latest news from anywhere they can. the Aeterreon symbol is on the door, but you have to know where to look. This is, of course, for secrecy purposes. The difference is, they report directly to Shoi about big things, such as political changes. The small things, they deal with themselves.
Books are found here, real and computerized, on etiquette and speaking and various other subjects.

The other buildings are bigger and have the symbol prominently displayed.
In the big zone the building is located near the Courts, and in the temple district it is located at the center of the area.
In general, Ambassador areas are quiet but watchful. You do not cause trouble there.

Soldier HQ:
The soldier hq is a barracks in the hangar area. one wall is dorms and the other wall is Simulations, where Aeterreons can practice their combat skills and learn. There are simulations for playing against each other, and even against podlings who, of course, take on an avatar of some pokemon or other and fight with that.
There is an arena in the center for Real life sparring, and in the back is a war room table that is computerized. It has a direct feed to Shoi's office, so that she can monitor any activity regarding it and influence it with or without trekking to the hangar.

They also have other barracks in the major residential zones to help keep the peace.

In general, it has a focused, martial feel.

Shinigami HQ:
Is located in the Temple of the Void behind an intricately decorated, shiny, dark door that seems to absorb the light. It is only accessable to initiated Shinigami and Asaguereons.
Inside, its pretty sparse, but this is the High priest's office, with a terminal where podlings are monitored for suitability.
Other than that, its just as solemn, quiet, and peaceful as the rest of the temple.

Priest HQ:
Is located in the temple of the All behind an intricately decorated, beautifully designed door. It is only accessable to initiated Priests and Namaeons.
Inside is a riot of STUFF. Its disorganized and cluttered. Moss and plants grow everywhere.
Somewhere in this riotous mess is the Head Priest's desk and a terminal to monitor the podlings for suitability. the walls are covered with colorful things and the moss. In general its as active and busy as the rest of the temple.

Intellectual HQ:
Is located in the Old Human Zone, near the labs. Its full of paper and computer journals, reading glasses, microscopes, books of any subject you could want, and a lost and found full of forgotten junk.
There are comfortable chairs of the human and beanbag varieties, where the various and varied varieties of Intellectual can sit and discuss.
There is a food machine and several terminals where they can catch up on the latest information, speak with podlings, and hack human computers (which is fun- you should see the stuff thats on there!).
There is a reception desk near the front to help visitors, but the receptionist is rarely paying attention to anything but the book on some obscure complicated subject.
In all, it has a musty, absentminded, yet creative feel to it.

Settler HQ:
The settlers have an HQ in one of the less-travelled areas of the station, near to the Core region.
The interior is REALLY artsy and rugged, mimicing the wild outdoors of Earth. Its a neat place to visit. It is here that Simulations are held for survival and Expedition notices are posted first. Thats their job. They have a board where they accept Job Posts.
They usually have a job up EXCLUSIVELY on their board before sending it to the main server to go on the stationwide job board.
The place has a rough, wild, fresh-faced feel to it. You almost expect to smell water in the air from a waterfall, or a tree-scented wind in your face...

Lt Commander's Office:
The office of the LT. Commander is in the Laundry room area, just next to Shoi's office.
Its currently uninhabited and bare except for some terminals and a desk. It needs someone to liven the place up...

Alternate Job office:
Located in the big zone, this is where jobs not entirely related to the main jobs can be registered for or gotten.
It has a board where temporary jobs are posted, and the receptionist is happy to help even breeders with the terminals, which help train and register people for secondary jobs such as Judge or Mesenger or such.
It has a classy feel to it. The floors, done in tile, look professional, and the wood panelling, interrupted by scrolling text, gives the whole place a general professional feel, not unlike a high-class Earth hotel.

OFF THE STATION
how and why

Leaving the station is not a common thing. Everything we need is on the station, generally.
But sometimes, we need new stock, new allies, or just to fight a war.
Heck, sometimes a rescue or a discovery can get us offstation.
So we move offstation and do what we need to do.

Sometimes we explore, sometimes we fight battles, and sometimes we visit friends. Or just have fun.

There are shuttle ships designed specifically for transport and able to reenter atmosphere. Usually a group will ride in these to their destination, be it Earth, the Moon, or another ship. The ride is typically pretty smooth.
huge shuttle ships are used by Settlers when they travel to other planets.

There are separate ships that are theorized to be able to travel in the Void or the All, outside the cities of course, but these have been tightly regulated by the Allking (Ah-King) and Voidqueen (Na-Queen) for obvious reasons. These are only used by non-initiates in some approved event such as an expedition, and only used by initiates under the order of the monarchs.
