Shoi sat in her office, shuffling papers aimlessly with her paws.
Finally she sighed. The papers fluttered to the ground, and -somehow- neatly organized themselves into a pile on the floor- to join the OTHER piles of stuff.

It was no use. She couldn't procrastinate anymore.
She had to do that pep talk that she had been wanting to do for a while now.
She had to go out there and tell the new breeders about their situation, lift their hearts... that sort of thing.

Oh, but how? She massaged her eyes with her paws, closing her third eye for just a moment.
oog, she needed more sleep. She should just... go to sleep and do this tomorrow.

No.
If she did that, she'd KEEP putting it off, and it HAD to be done.
And there was no time like the present.

Oh...
She looked back at the papers, almost longingly.
What would she say to these poor eons?! They'd be a tough crowd, that was for sure!

She sighed and began flipping through the papers until she found the request from the caretakers. She skimmed it, hoping to find some sort of inspiration...

((If Shinigami can't actually do the following, I can always change it XD But as unspecified as their roles and abilities are...I hope it isn't too out of your aim for them.))

Zeratul winced interally as he swept past the entrance to the field enclosement where the resuced eevees now lived. As a trained Shinigami, he could feel the overflow, the pressure, the icy clutch of the dark emotions leaking from that area. The souls of those poor eevees were cyring out in an agonized cacophany against the wrongs that had been done to them.

Their homes, their families, their own little worlds wer gone. Shattered to itty bitty pieces and thrown in a bottomless abyss at their paws so that they may never reach them again.

However, his only outward action was to continue on his path towards the Commander's office.

As a Shinigami, he was trained in the ways of the Void, and a very important part was to hone his psi abilites to identify energy, as every other apprenticed Shinigami. While all Aeterreons can feel energy, it takes careful training to master the skill of knowing what energy is what, where it is, what it does, how to manipulate it, so on so forth. But that wasn't really the point.

The point was that Zeratul had been observing the station, mainly the field for a few day, and had noticed something important. Or at least worrisome. The longer this misery went on, the more the breeders' physical and mental states deteriorated. Not just that though, but it seemed the other station bred eevees and caretakers were beginning to feel the effects of this roiling energy. Something needed to be done, or these newly recrited breeders would make themselves useless, tire out their caretakers, and may begin to negatively influence their younglings.

Finding himself outside the commander's office, he rapped calmly upon the door a total of three times before waiting for permission to enter. It woulnd't do to not show proper respect to his leader.

((Ah! Thats good! I think that it makes sense for the Priest and Shinigami classes both to train their sensing skills.
But I think that the 'roiling energies' of sorrow would effect more than that... It could effect the whole station!!! O.O Dude, i totally didn't realize that! Wheeeee!))

Shoi was very intently focussed on the original request, noting down whatever came into her head on a screen nearby.

At the first knock, she grunted, without really diverting her attention. She could ALMOST get it now! She ALMOST had it, she swore! She could feel the speech coming together in her mind!
It was very important, this speech. She hadn't realized quite HOW important, but the caretakers seemed frantic.

At the Second knock, she began to realize that someone was knocking at her office door, and it wasn't just some loose change in one of the dryers outside.
She was a bit annoyed though...

But when the third knock came she figured she should see who wanted to see her.
She opened the door telekinetically, and felt a mind she knew.

Gladly, she put down the paper and stood up to greet Zeratul properly, stretching.
"Hello there!" she said, her mood significantly better- she didn't have many 'friends', and she considered him one of them.
"Excellent timing! I need some help with composing this thing! How do you think the breeders from the isles will like being told that we need them?"

((Oh, seet then XD I originally had a much worse effect happening, but then I remembered I didn't exactly have the authority to say it was screwing with the Aeterreons around the station XD ))

Zeratul let a small smile slip onto his face at Shoi's enthusiastic greeting. It was good to see she was still operating rather than a steaming mess of stress adn irritation. Zeratul held no doubts that if she didn't get a break soon, the Supreme Commander would be reduced to that.

"Well, most eevees tend to respond attentively and curiously when notified that they are required for something," the Shinigami replied, easily manuevering around the paperwork carpeting the ground and closing the door behind him.

Eyeing a couple of documents, he saw that the caretakers had already jumped at the opportunity to nag their leader about the issues relating to the surface dwellers. "It would seem the caretakers have already taken to notifying you of the rather sad state our rescuees are in. I was on my way to tell you actually to talk to you about taking care of them, but it would seem your already working on that. I would like to reassert my earlier stated opinion that work will likely help distract them and get them on a more stable lifestyle and drowning themselves in sorrow.

"If nothing else, telling these eevees that we need them should perk their ears."

"Work. Yeah, its a great idea and I'm working on that. The Alternate job office is nearly up and running. I just have to get it connected, recognized..."
She sighed.
"More paperwork. I swear they do this just to annoy me." she gestured to the piles stacked somewhere in the corner.

"So you noticed too, huh? It hasn't gotten bad enough for me to notice yet, but... Well..."
She smiled.
"Stay a while and help me make this the best damn speech ever. They're going to need it."

She tapped a paw, thinking.
"I wonder how many of them have family here already. Maybe it would help them to know that not everyone is gone?"

Oh family. It was a tough concept to grasp, but she supposed she understood. Sort of.
I mean, the other aeterreons were her family, in a sense, and she figured that the Tragedy was the closest thing she really had to the kind of thing that the breeders were going through.
But she knew it wasn't the same.

"Do you have any idea if you're related to any of them?" she wondered, keying up the files of the rescuees on her computer, which she glanced at.
"I know I'm probably not."

((Don't worry TOO too much. We think alike enough, you give me ideas, and besides- technically you own the guild XD.
Shoi has not trained her psychic powers for emotions, her mind is very good at programming and lie-detecting, and it has an unconciously broadcasting confidence vibe or something, but she can't really detect what he detects, which makes sense, doesnt it.))

"I really do think getting a secretary or two would benefit you greatly," Zeratul said empathetically, giving the piles of paperwork wary looks. Being a Shinigami, he didn't have to deal with this kind of stress, and truthfully, there was enough of it already from the redoubled training regimens, new apprentices, and everything else going on in Viod City. Speaking of which, he'd probably be called back there soon to report on how the station is holding up.

Zeratul gave a small snort, shaking his head a little. "Most certainly, I can help there. Us Shinigami are quite accomplished at articulating our speech, no?"

Pondering for a moment, Zeratul felt a weird sensation at the word 'family.' It was strange, that he should be connected to these strangers by blood, and yet not even know the face of his own mother. Shinigami have a different understanding, that the ones closest are their brethern. That all Aeterrs are their kin and the other Shinigami are their brothers and sisters. This whole blood relation concept the surface dwellers shered was alien to him and yet...he felt this odd urge to know. This conecpt of family was foreign to the Aeterreons and Zeratul wanted to know if they were his relatives. Blood and blood are kin jaut as spirit and spirit are. He wanted to help these poor souls, even if the way he conveyed it seemed a little cold, and if revealing that there were blood ties even here, then he would do so willingly. For the good of the colony.

"There are...unnerving similarities between myself and one of the eevees we retreived. But that is as far as I know on the matter. Perhaps I have more roundabout ties with them, seeing as they have a strange system of names for their relatives that I am as of yet unsure of, but I know that their is a strong likelihood I am related to that eevee."

(( Oh yeah.... XD
Alrightly then~ owo ))

"Or three." she agreed, "It would be nice to have someone to read these damn things. Printed word hurts my eyes, they always manges to use the smallest type they can..."
She brought her attention to the matter at hand.

"So family is a good idea. Usefullness is a good idea..."

Another idea popped into her head, suddenly. An interesting one.
"You know, theres an expedition coming up. Planetside. What do you think- you think its a good idea to mention that?
Or should I let them find out on their own?"

She knew what she thought- that it would be a good idea, if they didn't plan on escaping off into the wilds. But, as she thought, she was unsure. What if they were harmed? What if they were still psychologically imbalanced and ran away from the expedition group?

Zeratul paused thoughtfully, pondering the best course of action as such. something that could motivate these eevees greatly would be a chance to see their homeland again and the have closure on whether their humans survived or not.

"Assume you were to inform our rescuees of such an expidition. They are bound to show interest. Perhaps a quick phsyco analysis before clearing themt o accompany the aeterr? They should be able to perfectly understand the dangers we warn them of, and if any of them should disobey while with us, I'm sure a Shinigami or Warrior guard could put a stop to such nonsense. Seeing as they have lived there their whole lives though, they could provide valuable information on the planet during our exploits. But if you are to mention it at all, there are some that will most definately ask to go. To just mention it in passing would be cruel, like dangling a piece of meat jsut outside the reach of a starved prisoner. If you do not plan on such, I would suggest trying our hardest to keep that particular tidbit of information away from their paws. Even if they do not possess the same prowess as the aeterr, our eevee bretheren could be quite troublesome if they wished to be, and disposing of them or imprisoning would be deplorable."

"It would not only be deplorable and morally corrupt, it'd also be wasteful. It would pretty much kill the point of having them here."
She said, nodding in agreement.
"I do intend to allow those who are determined to be psychologically able to go. At the very least, it would balance out the strengths. The last time there was an all Aeterreon expedition, they were nearly wiped out by digletts. Ground types. They only survived because the digletts had a modicum of sentience and were only trying to drive them away, not kill them. The breeders may not be as bright as us intellectually, but they are strong in their own right."
She sighed.
"We have distinct weaknesses that our abilities can't handle, no matter what we do to train ourselves. Ultimately, we have type disadvantages. "

"I think I'll tell them that any who want to go have to be interviewed by a caretaker first. That might work."
