Topic of the week for 1/20
It's almost that time again, to start thinking about who you want for the shootout!
I made a topic about this a month ago, and got some good suggestions, so I'll put up a poll.
Here are the options:
OLD WAY - Everyone get into the chase, with bonuses for points position, wins, and starts.PROS: It worked for several years. Everyone gets in. CONS: Complicated. Hard to compare yourself to CUP drivers. Regular season not as important.
CURRENT WAY - Top four in points get in, plus 1 wildcard who has the most wins from 5th on back. PROS: Aside from number of participants, the same as NASCAR. 2 exciting moments per season. CONS: Discourages people who miss the chase from continuing.
PROPOSED WAY - Everyone gets in, but only the top three get win bonuses. Everyone else starts at 2000.
I'm still open to ideas though!

Last year's setup was great...except for the fact that we would have needed at least 2 more full time peeps to still make it exciting for the non chasers. However I realize that no matter how we try to gather new faces...its always going to be the same core of us at the end. So why not compromise on the new and the old. Everyone gets in to the chase... as long as you participated in over 3/4ths of the regular season. That way there is still a point to voting every week prior to the chase. If you didnt vote in enough races you dont qualify for the chase. But can still fight for points outside the chase. Also keep the top 3 points part...make it a small bonus..but still enough till its worth everyone fighting for the top 3 spots at the end of the regular season.

Im a fan of the old way, tried and true we never had any major issues with it. Not a fan of the new way that was used last year pretty much because I wasnt in it and once the chase starts thats it for everyone else. My vote goes to the old way.

I wish this would have gotten more votes. Only two votes for the winner does not make me feel confident.
