Clan(n): A group of hippogriffs who live together in a community, not neccessarily related by blood.

Clutch(n): the term for eggs laid together in a nest; (adj) naive, amusing

Fledgling(n): one of many terms for a hippogriff once itis hatched

Hatchling(n): one of many terms for a hippogriff once it is hatched

Hippogriff(n): a creature created long ago as a joke by the gods to mock the gryphon and horse who refused to get along; hippogriffs have the head of an eagle and body of a horse

Mating Flight(v): the mating event of hippogriffs often resulting in eggs, normally inclusive between a male and a female though rare open flights or same sex flights have been recorded

Nest(n): Where a hippogriff resides. Does not have to be an actual nest, more like a homeplace; (n) where eggs are normally kept while they are incubating

Storykeeper(n): a hippogriff whose job it is to keep the stories of old alive and teach them to young hatchlings, they are also in charge of adding news stories as well and teaching rules and wisdom

Angellic(n): Angellic is a type of hippogriff that is uncommon; their wings are more cloudlike and unreal in nature and a halo hovers above their head. They may appear a little bit more barrow-chested due to the fact that they live high in the mountains and, for some, in the clouds themselves. Temperment and personality traits are not yet known.

Demonic(n): Demonic hippogriffs are just as rare as angellic hippogriffs. They prefer to nest in hot areas such as lava flows or hot springs. Their heads are horned and wings more leathery in nature, demonic hippogriffs are known to be brooding. It seems a common practice to attach jewelry as a symbol of age. More on temperment & personality is needed.

New Green/New Growth: The term for spring and the growing season; it may also represent the passage from teen to adult

Long Day/Long Night; the term for summer; may also represent a sabatical taken by a child or teen to come to terms with who s/he is...

Many Colors/Red and Brown: one of many terms for Fall

Long Sleep: term for winter; also a term for long meditation; may be a term used by Elders to describe death to a child

White Cold/White Sleep: another term for winter; also a term to describe one who is cold hearted.

Burning Season: a term for summer when there has been no rain

Firebird: Another name for the mythical phoenix

The Fireball: A large asteroid or egg that hit in the middle of the valley; this event led to the population of the Phoenixes in the valley and was the cause of the major fire that spread quickly, destroying much

Prickers: a thorn bush that grows in the valley; its thorns are roughly half an inch long and cause a bump to appear wherever the victim is pricked; however, its yellowish-orange fruit are quite sweet and juicy and considered a treat

Biting bugs: a type of fly that is drawn to sweat or blood; it will burrow into the wound and can cause an infection that leads to a fever-the only way to be rid of the bug is to drown it

Shaman/Shamaness: A hippogriff who has been taught to read the world around him/her; often times works with the Storyteller to enforce laws, decide punishment, heal sick ones and do blessings-it is unknown whom was the first in this position
