This is truly disgusting... in every sense of the word... and yet people have the friggin GALL to question me and my atheism... I simply don't understand these people. I really don't. What right do they have to do that? I mean, come on, people. Get real. "God's Army"? What the hell does he need an army for? To fight people for him? Then why doesn't he smite the bastards where they stand? GADS!!!
Calm... I'm okay...
Feedback? Blatant religious denials? Answers to why the hell this happens?

...the right to do what? It's a Bible Camp. Weird people, sure, but it's just a Bible Camp.

It's scary, sure. But what right do you have to be offended that people want to get together and worship?

Ok, I'm a saved Christian myself, and I have three words for that trailer: What. The. Crap.

Eh, I don't think it's a cult. I just think it's the Saved Christian thing (I am a Saved Christian, by the way) taken the wrong way. o3o;

oh for GOD SAKES therse NOTHING wrong with that. its not an ACTUAL army of people. its more of a SYMBOLIC army. representatives of christ and his teaching. i mean come on you see somethoing like that all the time. its not a cult. its just a LARGE group of christians that are still willing to stand up....cuz im ean look out our day and age today. the christian population is not what it used to be. you mean you have ALLL these other types of religions. not to mention the crap like last christmas.

not being able to say merry christmas to customers? what kind of CRAP IS THAT?!! christianity needs to stay strong, and that camp is one of the MANY ways to do that.

Okay... so it starts with a woman telling the kids that they can make a difference... then theres a woman in there 'preaching' about how other religions are wrong by sending their kids to places other than christian camp... and theres some clips about how the children are 'saved' and born again, when it looks like they werent even born for the first time too long ago... and how they believe that they're (or we're, broad term, take it how you like) a key generation in Jesus' second coming... then theres talk about giving up your life for Jesus... and then there's talk about being trained to be in 'Gods' army... then theres children who seem to be entranced, almost brainwashed with the concept, as they make chants, and close their eyes, and make these peculiar motions... one of the chants being about righteous justice... and then they point out that theres a new church just like it every 2 days in America, and procede to point out that 'if the evangelicals vote, they determine the election' and that they can take over the government as we know it... then they procede to talk about how this is 'just the tip of the iceberg' and then theres more chanting and entrancing and a woman screaming 'this is war'... and to finish it off nicely, they end with "are you a part of it or not?"...

You're right... this is worse than a cult... this is like the Nazi's or the muslim extremists...

okay...so I had to imdb it to get any sort of info...it is true that this sort of a subculture exists. In the spectrum of Christian churches, these guys are really not that much more to the charismatic side that even I am. It isn't their hearts after God that got them into trouble...it is, realistically, the overt political views of the camp directors.

I'm sorry, but "admiring" how islamic children are sent to camps and given training in suicide bombing, etc, is NOT okay.

Christian camps exist, as a ministry, to allow students a week away from the troubles of everyday life, so that they can focus on growing spiritually.

NOT to train them for war.

The political view and the fanatasism of the directors is where it turns sour. There isn't anything wrong with a camp where kids can also worship, laugh, sing, dance, and learn about the Lord. But it is NOT a military training ground.

[/Rant]

I agree, I love the concept of retreating (by whatever means) from life to be with God. But this perverts the concept to an unsightly degree, in my opinion.

I can understand the want and need to stand up for their religion. Great. I'm all for that. But I'm absolutely convinced that their leaders told any one of these children to go kill their parents, for 'not believing', the children wouldn't even hesitate. Not for a friggin second. But standing up for religion is one thing. This is something entirely different. Entirely.
And Sega... I've seen Bible camps. This is not a Bible camp. It's a brainwashing boot camp for breeding twisted little fanatics. But that's my opinion... I have never attended a Bible camp at all. For that, I am glad. But that's not the point.

Well then, how would you feel if from now on, you never heard "Merry Christmas", but instead, "Enjoy the Pagan Festivities" or "Happy Hanukah"?

Minor thing as it is, or as you may see it, there are other religions out there, and have every right to be respected. And unless we require the clerks to inform the Customer of every holiday which happens to take place in December(including Winter-een-Mas, I insist), I think "Happy Holidays" will do just fine.

@Superior Jazz: I don't know if it was just my computer or a codec or a bad mux in the sound coding, but I had to put my audio system full blast just to hear teh people, and couldn't understand half of what they said. So apparently there were things you heard that I didn't, but it seemed just like any other Evangelical camp full of some of the same fruity far-too open minded attendants.

I'd be overjoyed if they were open minded. But by my guessing, they want to start the Crusades again. With children... It's the Children's Crusade again! AHHH!!!

ah yes...point taken. Their minds are open to the obvious stimulas that is fed to them by the camp counselors, however, they haven't much mind left for anything else. That's the part that worries me. The cunning and crafty people with an agenda, it's good to keep an eye on them. But the Stupid people? Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. gonk
