I'm quite puzzled as to why no one has made a thread about this game yet. Anyways, for those that haven't been keeping up to date, Square has announced that the 9th installment to Dragon Quest (my #1 favorite game franchise) will be a DS exclusive. At least we'll be able to play it when and wherever we want. What are your thoughts on the game being on a handheld rather than a console?

That game does look really good. Isn't it co-op? If not, it should be.

All I see when I look at the art for those games is dbz. It makes me giggle in a sort of nostolgic way. I liked that show but I also liked making fun of it, great inside jokes came of that show. Seriously though, this game being released on the DS is going to boost some major sales. I think it's great that they've finally branched outside of the ps2 and put this game on the DS. I'm not gonna buy it, I mean, I'm not gonna buy much of anything with this bill of 609.03 that I owe my mom for helping me get my pc early. It's great however, Dragon Quest is definately a game to own.

I'm getting it, no doubt about that. In my opinion handhelds need this more than consoles. In the past they only had side attractions and ports, yet games like New SMB and Yoshi belong in portable form.
I really don't blame Horii-san for this decision, even though it has been a while since the announcement. He has always praised them more than the home machines, even since Game Boy Color. He also prefers actual game design to graphics, as you may or may not know. smile

I would true love to see what square enix can do on the platforms
