Okay, so I met Jigar in my AP U.S. History Class. He saw me reading the Bible and started asking questions, and before I know it, I'm telling Him the message of salvation. I gave him my pocket new testament, and a cd that invites him to accept Jesus. I don't know if he has done that yet, but it doesn't matter right now.
So he's been going to the bible study that's at my school every wednesday morning before school. But the thing is, his mom is Hindu, and is very religious, and I'm guessing his dad falls along those lines too. So obviously, he needs a ride to get there, since it's before school and all. When his parents asked him what he was doing, he told them that he was going to talk with his chemistry teacher so he can understand stuff (he is in AP Chemistry too). It stinks that he had to lie, but understand that if his parents knew that he was going to a bible study, not only would they not let him go to it, but they would basically lose all trust in him, and be as dissapointed as they could be, and it is likely they'd move back to India as a punishment. And I don't know if it would be even worse or not. He just spelled out that it would be VERY bad.
So here's the crisis. Conferences are on Thursday. His dad plans to ask his chemistry teacher what he's been doing every Wednesday morning. eek That could be disastorous, but luckily Jigar knew of this ahead of time, so he started actually going to meet with his chemistry teacher for the past couple wednesdays. There is still a high chance that his chemistry teacher will say something to the effect that he only recently started coming, which would raise great sucspision in the eyes of his parents, cause he's been going to the bible study for a while now.
Here's an idea of how bad it could be if his parents find out. Jigar asked his mom what she would do if he thought about converting to Christianity. She yelled at him for a while, and then didn't talk to him for a week.
One of the biggest things I'm afraid of is that his parents will somehow persuade him to deny Christ, which would be very bad. He's still a "baby christian" if you will. He needs time to be strengthened and molded by God, you know?
Yeah, so it would be great if you all could pray. Conferences = March 8th = two days from when I'm typing this.
Thank you. biggrin
