Because Doctor Who is clearly where it's at. I'm a David Tennet/Doctor 10 fan myself. You may disagree, but then you'd be wrong. I'm leaving it open to discussion of all things Doctor Who but with the caveat that I myself have only seen the first two seasons of the new iteration.

I have a confession to make.

I've never watched Dr. Who, ever.

I really don't know much about it, other than how crazy-long running it is, and that many people sing its praises.

Kao likes it, though, and we rented the first disc of the new series from Netflix, which I need to get around to watching.

He is not bad ~ best to date in my opinion is Tom Baker . Great voice and plausible acting.
Tennet is a little to wet behind the ears.

I hear alot about Baker but haven't seen his yet. I just think that Tennet is irresistably fun. Hell my main account is cosplaying him right now. xd

I've never watched the Tom Barker episodes, so I am going to have to say that my favorite doctor is David Tennant. i think he is hot.

I have see all of the aired who's . Even the B+W pilot {Earth Child I think } which was never originally aired and read allot of the books printed in the subsequent years.
Tennant just plays an a slightly over excited teenager for me not the knowledgeable father figure written in the books.
{to much of Clark Kent not enough Kal El }

I'll agree that Tennant is the hotter of the two recent-series doctors, but I really loved Chris Eccleston's 9th Doctor. His Doc had all sorts of wonderous adventures and a good deal of pathos, at the same time.

I'm looking forward to the new Companion in S3, even though I enjoyed Rose. The Doctor helped her to realize her potential, and her character arc was essentially done.

The one character I find disappointing (but that the Who fandom seems to love) is Jack Harkness. I like the idea of Jack - a pansexual future rogue time cop is automatic cool - but I think that the actor who plays him kind of sucks. A lot.

Eccleston's quite good, I'll always give him credit for being the Doctor that got me into the whole thing and Dalek is easily on the shortlist for my favorite episode largely because of how frightening he was. Rewatching that one after getting a good feel for Tennant's Doctor, you can really see his attitude start to manifest there when he's taunting the Dalek.

I love how whimsical Tennant is and how starkly it's contrasted with his One Warning rule. That, and Eccleston could never pull off "I'm The Doctor and I just snogged Madame de Pompadour!"

Buzzcut dude didn't do it for me. He's Doctor Who's excuse for the Scifi revision Kolchak (The Night Stalker). The new new guy, whatever his name is, is doctor-y enough. (For the record, previous Doctors have been fairly drastic departures from his average personality.)

My continuing favorite is Tom Baker, to whom Sylvester whatsit is a close second. When Tom Baker offers you a jelly baby, you know he's offering you a jelly baby. And Sylvester is good at saying things in a very serious tone.

Eccleston is Buzzcut/Funny Ears. Tennant is the current one.

Also, I was put off by the pathos. And particularly the, eh, love story.

A guy who has been all around the universe fighting monsters for the last million years should not be in a situation to moon over a girl he can't tell about his true feelings. Moreover, the Doctor has always seemed to me to care about all intelligent life about the same, being no more partial to the other Time Lords whom he'd abandoned intentionally than the human beings whose affairs he hovered over constantly.

Or any of the various offshoots he encountered.

The only thing he ever seems really impatient with is, you know, Threats to All Life.
