I just thought I'd have a light hearted, non-scriptural philiosophical if you will discussion about love.
Why is it blind? Is it? Do we love out of need? Or do we love out of want? Can love really exist when it covered in abuse? (eg: a wife basher who she won't leave because she loves him)
Don't answer my question, there just a general idea of the topic. ^_^ give us your idea, then everyone can choose to agree or disagree.
Guidelines: -Even if it seem they are being rude, clear up with them if they are before getting offended and angry. -Don't try to offend people. -Keep away from picking up flaws outside of the reasoning they give. -Don't slander to make your point seem more creditable by degrading the other. -Don't take it seriously!
Alright, lets go?

Based on the premise of God = Love, put into standard categorical syllogism:
All members of the party of which God is the only member are blind people. All members of the party of which Ray Charles is the only member are blind people. Therefore all members of the party of which Ray Charles is the only member are of the party of which God is the only member.
Form: AAAsubcript3
Rule D violated: No standard from categorical syllogism is valid that has a term distributed in the conclusion that is not distributed in the premise which it occurs.
3nodding
Now that that's said, I'd like to share a quote:
"Love is not blind; it just only sees what matters."

Isn't this in shakespeare?
A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act I, Sc. I Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.
So.. i dont know.. you guys make something out of it..
but i kno its lighthearted and all.. but theres a difference between love, lust, and crushes.. so.. make sure its the right kind of love we're talking about biggrin and anyways, the definition of love is really.. uhh.. debatable in our society today..
so yeah =D

Don't you wanna come with me? Don't you wanna feel my bones on your bones? It's only natural.
Love is blind because you refuse to see the bad parts about the relationship and you don't want to think that there is someone better for you.
I speak from experience. My ex-boyfriend used to say some things to me that... quite frankly, were extremely damaging to my self-esteem and such. I thought that he was joking and so I ignored it all. When he broke up with me and I got a new boyfriend, I realised that... my ex was a total p***k to me and I didn't deserve it.
I chose not to see how bad some things were in the relationship because I really wanted to be with my ex and I thought he was the one for me.
Nothing is final until there's a ring, basically. And unfortunately, even that isn't final anymore. D:
Don't you wanna swim with me? Don't you wanna feel my skin on your skin? It's only natural.

Kinda off topic... but that's okay. Just thought I'd relate one of the more amusing syllogisms I saw once.
A ham sandwich is better than nothing. Nothing is better than god. Therefore, a ham sandwich is better than god.
Sorry... anyway. Love blinds us to what we don't want to see. The human mind is astounding in that regard. If we really don't want to see it, we won't. ~EDIT~ Yay resurrecting long dead threads...
