About the Guardian..

User Image

Name: Chrysanthos 'Chrys' Junan
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: Chrys tends to be a very shy individual, and often dresses to match, choosing dark tones over anything that is bright and draws attention to himself. When on his own however, or in the company of close friends he shows a more playful dress sense, opting for slightly more colourful clothes, and playfully indulging in his appreciation for all things neko! He gets particularly uncomfortable when he is drawn to the center of anyones attention, and thanks to his eyepatch it seems to happen rather a lot he's found, when this happens, he just clams up and says nothing, squeaking instead. He just likes his personal space really, and there are few that he openly shows a friendlier more forthcoming side to.
Likes: Black, cats, reading, writing occasionally, exotic pets, talking to said pets, hardcore music, people that make him feel happy, pears, strawberrys, painting his nails, his job
Dislikes: In-Your-Face people, people that stare at him, being cornered, overly bright colours, bitten nails, questions about his eye, citrus fruits, locusts, breasts

Occupation: Veterinary Assistant (In Training)
Friends: None
Aquaintences: None

[ ENTRY ONE ]

It had been another long, if rather enjoyable, day at work and despite smelling the worse for wear for now, Chrys was feeling quite aimiable for once as he had helped his manager lock up the veterinary surgery after trade. All the animals that were satying in overnight had their water and their I.V.'s set up and double checked, the night-warden would soon be there as well to make sure that everything was alright.

Quietly, Chrys lifted a hand to wish his boss a good evening and offered her the smallest of smiles, his eyes not reflecting the show of kindness or happiness. He enjoyed his job, yes, but the woman was intolerable.. She was always invading his space.. Asking him about himself offhandedly.. There was no-one he could answer questions like that to.. At least his colleugues were nicer. They knew what he needed, he mused, walking silently around the corner of the highstreet, and some five terraced houses down, he climbed the few stairs to the maisonette he shared with his father. He was hardly at home, but never mind to that, it only meant that there were less people to bother him, to pester and poke him. He sighed, opening the door and quietly shutting and locking ot once again behind him. He climbed the stairs swiftly, bee-lining for the bathroom, high time for him to rid himself of the smell of the surgery and the scent of all the animals he's looked after. A short hot shower was all it took, and he really rather did enjoy the hot water, his eyes closed while he washed, listening to the water and the birds restlessly moving, settling then re-settling outside, wing beats..

Swiping his wet hair back out of his face, he shut off the water, and stepped neatly out of the shower, quickly wrapping a large and pink, disgustingly, towel around himself before dumping his clothes in the laundry basket and tiredly making his way to his decently sized and blissfully dark bedroom.. It took him next to no time at all to find a long black t-shirt to pull on, and after roughly towelling his hair he yanked back the bed-clothes and settled down between them, sighing happily, his eyes closed.. Well.. Not for long. Something about the size of his fist, smooth and wickedly cold ran down the curve of his back, and so soon he wasn't in his bed anymore, but half out of it, wide eyed and turning his light back on, pulling the covers back once more to find.. A sphere? Some sort of ball..? He leant down and picked it up, non-caringly, blinking a little as he turned it, some sort of orange and red mist or liquid inside swirling quickly, almost violently at him. He'd never seen it before.. A gift from his father..? He eyed it warily, the panic gone, setting it down a little more carefully on his bedside table, settled between the lamp and his alarm clock.. He could ask about it in the morning..

[ ENTRY TWO ]

The orb hadn't been from his father..

That was all that Chrys had been able to think about since he had arrived at work that morning. He was starting to obsess over it, it bothered him intensly that it had him so worked up to begin with, but if it hadn't been from his dad then who could it have been? No one else could have slipped it up into his room, and the mere thought of anyone invading his space gave him the shivers. He frowned again at his coffee, half-way through his lunchbreak now in the bar a few streets away from him. His dad was friends with the owner, and there were more than happy to let him take up a comfortable, and relativly dark, corner of the place when he needed time alone. He watched the creamy milk swirl in the dark liquid and couldn't help thinking back to that glassy orb once again..

It hadn't been where he had left it this morning. He had distincly remembered putting it to the side after it had seemingly slithered down his back in the night. He had put it very firmly between the lamp and the clock to make sure that it didn't roll off the table and break on the floor.. When he had awoken however it had been pressed against his throat and collar-bone. It had been a little bit of a shock to say the least, and had un-nerved him all the more when he had picked it up, it had very faintly hissed at him! He couldn't have been sure, and it could always have been his dad sliding open the patio door.. Either way, it had certainly moved, and he knew his father certainly wasn't one for disturbing him, and he rarely intruded in his space at any rate. However.. He had found a note.. It was small, and it hadn't been written on normal paper, more like the fancy parchments you could buy at art and stationary shops.

He sighed softly and stirred his coffee once again, finally lifting the large cup to take a sip of the slowly cooling liquid as he looked down at the note he had found this morning, sitting next to the plate housing the remains of a sandwich..

'Always take Courage to help when you're weak.'

He scowled at it a little and slipped it back into his pocket to let himself enjoy the rest of his break, to think of his duties at the surgery and to think over that glassy orb that he hoped was still sitting on his pillow..

[ ENTRY THREE ]

He could get used to this, Chrys thought to himself as he sat at the breakfast table the next day. This haunted orb, ball thing.. He thoughtfully chewed on his jam smothered slice of toast, looking down at the orb that sat on his legs, half leaning against the warm wooden table.. The mists inside it swirled with what Chrys fancied was contentment.

He had discovered a few things about this orb thing over the past few days, one was that yes, it could move on it's own and when presented with the oppertunity would. The second was that it simply loved to be in warm places! The warmed the better, and like it was doing now, it seemed very content when it was there. The last thing he had accidentaly discovered was that it could make noises at him! This incident had occoured when, quite by accident he had set the orb down in one of the cooking pots first thing in the morning, it had been cold and the heating had yet to flick on. All he had done was set it down in there while he had started to make his morning tea, little realising that there was still a small amount of water in the bottom of the pot, also cold. He had dropped his mag, chipping the top of it and breaking the handle off at the results of this bad orb combination. It had hissed! And none too quietly either!

He took another bite out of the toast, smiling inwardly as he sucked the jam off the crunchy toast and peeked down at his lap again.. It was a strange old world really, especially where this glassy object was concerned. He gingerly stroked his fingers over the warming smooth surface of it, his one sharp green eye darting up at his father ran through. He nodded to him, offering him a quite goodbye, to have a good day at work. He got the same response as usual, a cheesey grin and a 'Laters, my boy!'

With a twitch of his nose his attention was back on the orb, lifting if up at he heard the door close to look at it more closely and set it on his warm if slightly crumby plate. The mists swirled dangerously as Chrys had lifted if from the warmth of his lap, a soft almost warning hiss, like a whisper emitting from it until it came into contact with the plate. It rolled gently to where the toast had last been on the plate, and there it stayed, the vibrant warm colours inside it settling once more, turning and mixing calmly. Chrys smiled a little, a true one, this object did amuse him so at times! It was almost like it was alive..

"You know.. I think I may well take you to work today.." He told it softly, more words than he had ever used on his father for a long while, "We have heat-mats there.. I bet that you'd like it.. Wouldn't you..?" He asked, popping the last mouthful of toast into his mouth, reaching for his cup. His smile turned into a grin, a real rarity, watching his orbs reaction. The word heat-matt.. It almost seemed to glow at the idea! The mists swirling in on themselves.. Was that, excitement?

[ ENTRY FOUR ]

It had been a very good day thus far, Chrys concluded. He had taken his orb with him to work as he had planned, and suprisingly he had felt all the better for having done so! He didn't really know why, but he felt just that little bit more confident when dealing with people, so long as it was close at hand. He had left it in a nice warm place in the kennels and cattery at the surgery, as he spent most of his time here it seemed like a sensible thing to do at any rate. He had cleared out a small space amoungsty all the spare blankets and beds on one of the lerge and often empty kennels and after a little work he had rigged up one of the heat matts that they used when housing exotic animals, or pets recovering from surgery. He had settled his orange swirling orb on that, covered witht he blankets and beds.

It amused him, he admitted, when he had looked up from filling if discharge papers and writing up his anasthetic monitoring he occasionally saw the blankets move a little, and a small part of the orb poking out from amoung the array of blankets. Was it checking up on him..? He couldn't help but feel that the orb almost had a personality of it's own, like it were alive. His eye shone with brief, fleeting amusement at the ideas he had been getting recently, his eyes travelling from the nestled orange glass to the large wall clock above the door to the theatre.. Lunch time..? Already..? TIme was flying today, time to head over to the bar once more, to huddle up in the reassuringly dark corner. This time, maybe it would all feela little different though, it was the first time he had taken his orb out for a 'walk'.

Would things be any different..? He knew he wasn't really acting like his old self.. Would people be different..? Would they look at him more..? He frowned at the thought, resting his head on a hand. Maybe lunch wasn't going to be such a good idea after all..

He paused after hearing a soft low hiss.. His eyes shot straight back to his orange orb. It had emerged from its hidey hole and was pressed against the cool metal bars of the kennel, the mists swirling aggitatedly.. It wanted out..? It looked like the lunch-time walk couldn't be avoided afterall.. With a small sigh, and the ghost of a smile, he signed the last of the papers he had at hand and lifted the metal latch to scoop up his, treasured.. Friend..? Maybe this thing was good for him, he though, maybe he would have to think of a name for it while he was out..

He'd humour his inner-child this once..

[ ENTRY FIVE ]

He had entered his favourite bar in very good humour, even his touchy felly boss hadn't managed to darken his mood as he'd left work with his orange orb in his small bag. It would have been hard for people to tell but he had actually been smiling as he had walked in, the very corners of his small mouth slightly quirked. It was a big show of emotion for him at least, especially in public! It wasn't to last though.. He stopped halfway across the bar, spying a small group of girls in his corner seat.. His favourite place.. The smile was gone again and he tucked one of his arms up along his bag strap as he looked for another secluded place to sit. There was no place quite like that corner so he had to opt to sit around near the other side of the bar, a lighter seat, nearer the window, but al least no one could sit behind him or anything.

He scowled, tucking his legs up underneath him. If he could have seen the fairly loud group he would have shot them a venemous glare, but the bar was pretty much obscuring them now. He sighed, looking up to whoever it was that was serving today. The tenders never really changed that much during the week, so it was the same person again. He hoped that they still remembered what it was that he usually asked for..? The tender nodded to him, they'd remembered at least.. Which was good.. He tried to ignore the few people that were giving him the occasional glance as he put his bag up on the table and extracted his fairly large orb from its warm depthss and blinked, shocked. It was swrling quickly, furiously almost. He set it down and it rolled at him, plopping down off the edge of his table and into his hands. He continued to stare, whispering harshly if quietly,

"What?? I haven't done anything! Stop doing that! You know I don't like it!"

It slowed slowly, though the mists within continued circling, darkly as if it were brooding over something.. No names for it just yet then, Chrys decided.. Not if it were going to act like that!

Pushing his bag along a little he set the orb down on the corner of his table, in the small patch of sunlight that had dared encroach on it.. It seemed happier then.. THough the mists still looked.. Ominous..? He could have sworn he saw something inside it on occasion as well.. But then that could have simply been a trick of the eye considering the contents never actually stopped moving, nor did they more in a regular sort of way. Turning, he jumped a little in his seat as he came face to face with the top of the bartenders stomach, a cup a a plate. He squeaked a little in surprise, his one eyes widening almost impossibly.

Would this guy ask him questions about his orb? Would he even notice..?

[ ENTRY SIX ]

Had he noticed..? A small concentraited look of concern fluttered across Chrys' features as the cup of coffee and his usual snack were set on the table. He almost heald his breath! The mans eyes had rested briefly on his orb, but he hadn't said anything about it. He'd just looked mildly.. Surprised was it? Offered a usual small smile and after looking like he was about to say something, he had retreated back to the bar agan with an,

'Enjoy your drink!' And another smile..

Chrys wasn't sure wether he was relieved or not that the bartender hadn't said anything.. Part of him had secretly wanted him to ask something about it, but for the majority he was greatful that he had been left in peace.. It's how it had always been and how he hoped it would stay.. Well, it was lonely, but that was for the best, wasn't it?

He sighed and smiled ever so slightly as he curled his slim, slightly too skinny fingers around his cup of coffee and lifted it to his mouth, blowing on it gently before taking a small sip, enjoying the bitter taste of the liquid. Ahhh, caffiene! He took one of the biscuits and gave it a nibble, watching curiously down at his orange and red misty orb.. It swirled.. The colours spinning faster, undulating occasionally as it lounged, he supposed, in the sunlight.. Before quite pointedly rolling off the table again!

Chrys squeaked sofly and leant sideways, throwing out a hand to catch the orb as it.. Tried to roll onto the radiator, seemingly..

"You're a bold thing, aren't you..? And you still need a name, he told it quietly, pleased that only one other person seemeed to have been observing what must have appeared to be very peculiar behaviour, "And I guess if you should have a name at all it should be fitting of it.. How about, Surge..? Or something like that.. You doo seem to like moving quite suddenly and in a volatile fashion.." He quirked his eyebrow ever so slightly at the mists inside the orb, Surge moved ominously, sukling again. He chuckled softly and set him in the warm confines of his bag.

"Don't worry.. It's only for a while, we'll go home soon afterall.."

[ ENTRY SEVEN ]

It had been a long time since Chrys had woken to a.. Well not unpleasent but a somewhat shicking surprise. The first time had been when that glass ball had moved in the night, right up onto his pillow giving him the eyeless version of hamster-eyes, if that made sense..

THistime, something actually was doing it, and they had large bright red eyes! He squealed in frisght, covering his mouth with his hands as if to try and cram the noise back into his throat as he practicly jumped up the bed, hitting his head against the padded headboard.

He continued to give the red eyed creature a horrified little look.

Right there on his chest is were it had been curled, right where that glassy ball usually sat to try and suffocate him in the night he felt. And now there was.. This.. He gulped, taking in the creatures appearance, it was still staring at him wearing.. Quite the distasteful expression, the red eyes dark and moody, one eyebrow quirked most distastefully.. And it had something like a plait instead of the lower half of it's body.. Horns same orange that the ball had been.. Chrys opened and closed his mouth..

"Surge....?"

The creature's expression changed immedietly ad it flopped down onto it's back and curled up with delight, rubbing it's.. Horns into the mattress..

"Oh dear.."
