Fikyr lounged contentedly by the riverside, mildly observing his ferret friend Kumo, as the tiny thing splashed about happily. He had taken a little swim eariler, and he had to say that he had never been more grateful for the water. Especially after the massive heat wave the land had suffered. When that had happened, there had not even been a river here, the entire thing had dried up. Yet now to look at it, one could never tell, for the water, and the greenery were restored as good as new. It was pleasing, both to the eye and body, as now when the heat became too much, he need simply let himself fall into the river.
Stretching, he sighed softly, a little bored. He had not seen much of any other hippogriffs lately, and was beginning to miss the company. But perhaps he would meet one today? After all, it was a rather hot day out, and he was sure more than just himself must have had the idea of cooling off in some water source. Especially given that the water had only recently come back, and all the other creatures of the forest seemed to be enjoying it immensely.

Yoshi hopped from one rock to another. Trying to learn to fly. Though, this wasn't the best way to do it, since she wasn't really flapping her wings, nor was the rocks that big. They were big enough that she could place all four hooves onto them. Her tail swished around as she did so.
Grass hid the water from Yoshi, though she stopped as she started to hear splashing. "Huh?" She said as she stopped. Her hooves didn't like the sudden stopping on the rock, which made her fall to the dry dirt next to the rocks with a loud thump. "Ouch!" She said as she hit the side of her head on the hard ground.

The strange rustling noises coming from the other side of the stream made Fikyr curious, they sounded a little like something try to get off the ground. He observed the grasses for a while, as the swished back and forth, but still didn't get an answer to what the creature was. Most likely, some type of bird, he reasoned to himself. A very large bird though. Still, he heeded it little as it probably would be alarmed if he approached it. That was, until he heard a loud thump, followed by a voice.
Startled, he scrambled to his feet, bounding over to see what had happened. A brown hippogriff, that looked about his age was sprawled on the ground in an awkward position. "Hey, are you alright?" He asked as he tried to figure out what had happened.

She rubbed her head with her hoof as best as she could. Then a voice came. She quickly looked up and saw another hippogriff. This one was black and yellow, and looked as if he was the same age as she. "Oh! I... I think so?" She said as she sat herself up. It really hurt.
"What... What are you doing out here?" she asked him trying to keep the conversation going. She hadn't exactly ran into any other hippogriff, except for the one that was taking care of her. But she didn't count. She grinned at the other stupidly.

He nodded as she confirmed her status, he could tell she was sore, but luckily no bones were sticking out in any odd way, and there was no bleeding. She looked like she had bruised herself, which was while not exactly lucky, preferable to many of the other options that come with injuring oneself.
"Well, that's good, although your head might look a little lopsided in the morning," he joked. The second question made him pause, or perhaps it was the expression on her face? It made him chuckle a little, it was the kind of grin he gave others when he changed te subject to attract attention away from something he'd done. He knew the look well. "Me? I came out for a little swim in the river," he indicated the water as he did so. "I mean it's nice to be able to have water, after that massive heat wave and all." He said with a nod of his head.

She gave a giggle. "Well, I'm sure my feathers will hide my lopsided head." She sat up from being on the ground and looked about. "Oh! Right. Sorry!" She said. She shook her head for a second letting her wings stretch out. "I haven't seen another one like me except my sister." She said finally look at the other.
Yoshi knew it wasn't her real sister, but they grew very fond of each other lately. She was the one that saved her from the heat wave. It was horrible. She smiled and clicked her beak as she watched the other.

Fikyr gave a small snort of laughter as he tried to picture what she would look like, a slight egg shaped bump on her head, and feathers sticking up haphazardly. It was a funny image, and he quickly explained so she wouldn't think he was laughing at her. "I'm sure that would be funny to see! I could just imagine..."
He was intriuged by her next statement, she hadn't met any hippogriffs besides her sister? That was fairly interesting, nothing wrong with it of course, he hadn't exactly met a lot of others either. "Oh, really? I have a sister too. Well, sisters, as well as brothers, though a lot of them are still really young, or still eggs right now. But I guess now we've met each other then!" He grinned. "Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Fikyr."
